I've been a Netgear loyalist for years but this is the second consecutive bad experience I've had with their equipment. I bought this to upgrade our current WiFi extender and increase signal to the most distant corner of our home. After setup the throughput was 1/3 of what we had previously. Customization options are very limited and no amount of tweaking improved the performance. Tweaks also took extremely long periods to save in the unit. The firmware was not the latest version and attempts to update the firmware manually (the automatic system couldn't find the internet even though all the pertinent settings were correct) were unsuccessful as every attempt timed out. The last Netgear router I bought had to be replaced twice by the company after their automatic ... I used the Nighthawk App to connect the Netgear Mesh 6 Extender to my Wi-Fi network. Installation was quick and easy - just followed the Nighthawk prompts. After installation I moved the Extender around until I found the location where I had both a strong signal to the Extender from my Verizon FIOS G3100 Mesh 6 Router and the fastest connection between the Extender and my Amazon 4K Max Firestick. I am very pleased with the results - can now stream movies and live TV with absolutely no buffering. This is an excellent product and I strongly recommend it to anyone looking to increase the range of their Wi-Fi network and the connection speeds of their wireless devices.

I had bought an Orbi last year for use in my home office and condo. It works great but I found the master bedroom signal was very week- even though my condo is only 1000 sq feet. Netflix and other apps struggled to connect, so an extender was in need. Setup was so easy I thought I must be doing something wrong! Once the extender connected to the network, it was gone. It now just acts like the main router. Signal in my master bedroom is now strong and there is no more struggle to get internet access.

ATT tech recommedned to buy a mesh extender when I upgraded to Fiber internet. I'm so glad I got the NETGEAR AX1600 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender. It was easy to install for a not tech savy person. I not longer have a dead spot in my home. There isn't 2 networks and I love this extender as I didn't need help setting it up. The price was reasonable and did I say I set it up all by myself in 30 minutes. Life is great and I not longer have a dead zone in my home. Thank you NETGEAR and ATT for telling me about a mesh extender!!!
Our old Netgear Wifi extender was 7 years old and has served us well. This new Mesh Wifi Extender though has been a tremendous improvement. Where we used to get 16Mbps download, we now get 48 Mbps. Standing in front of the modem/router we get 52Mbps. Only a slight drop in speed between the modem/router signal and the Mesh WiFi Extender. Very happy with performance so far and set up was actually very easy with a downloadable app.
We replaced our 35-year-old pool/spa control system with one that connects to Wi-Fi. Our router range did not reach the new equipment. The NETGEAR AX1600 Is a perfect solution. I (thought I) had some issues with installation, so I called support. They were very patient and walked me through the installation process. It turns out that I had successfully completed the installation with the Night Hawk installation software before I called support! I am such a novice I didn't realize it was working. Next, they had me unplug it to reboot, making sure all of the parameters were set correctly. AWESOME PRODUCT!-AWESOME SUPPORT!
This product has brought the other half of my house into the age of the internet. I live in a hundred plus year old house with an addition. The brick walls separating the new from the old have previously proved impenetrable to my standard wifi signal. After following the easy set up instructions for the AX1600 and installing the Nighthawk App on my iPhone, I was off and running. No more buffering on my smart TV and I swear the music through my wifi speakers is sharper and clearer. I would certainly recommend this product for anyone is having connectivity or streaming problems in certain areas of their house. Five out of Five!!!
The range of this Mesh Extender is amazing. I have just 2 small issues. 1.) There is an error in the quick start guide. The directions tell you to plug into the extender and connect to its LAN. Then it tells you to sign into NetGear, but you can't because the LAN has no internet connection. So you must call to get it set up. But my rep, Robert, was excellent. 2.) Though the range is greatly extended, it sometimes confuses the router and takes a couple minutes to connect. Other than that, the benefits of this router far outweigh the two small inconveniences. I recommend this product.
I recently switched from Verizon FIOS with their modem/router to Comcast/xfinity with a Netgear CAX30. Since the signal in our Family Room with the FIOS gear was marginal for streaming, I pre-bought a Netgear EAX12. I have the EAX12 setup to be a mesh of my SSID with Smart Connect enabled. I have seen data simply stop flowing for devices connected to the EAX12. Also, on one occasion the Router Link LED went solid red. Since the signal in the Family Room with the CAX30 is stronger than with the FIOS gear, I am not sure that the EAX12 is needed. I need to work with Tech Supt to better understand what is going on and to determine if the EAX12 is needed.
I have a pretty small house 1250 sqft. I have pretty fast internet but lacking on farthest two rooms of house. My router is not in central location so I needed something to boost signal. This extender doesn’t help at all. Would have returned but no longer have box. Waste of money. Should have just put the money towards a new router but figured this would do the trick. I was wrong.
