It's a good product, but in that case I would suggest double moisturizing by maybe applying this first to quench your skin and hydrate it, but then put something more moisturizing on top that will help lock everything in.

I use this body moisturizer on my face at night and I really enjoy it! It's very lightweight, so I use it alone in the summer but in the dryer months I'll put a thin layer of something with a lot of petrolatum over it to help out with occlusion. I've never tried the face moisturizer from this line since it's more than I want to pay for such a small amount, but they both boast the same "gel cream" texture and use glycerin as their primary humectant. It looks like the face one does have more dimethicone, so maybe that one would make a better makeup base than this. Since I use this mainly before bed, that doesn't matter to me, although I think I have applied light makeup over it with no trouble. I love the hydro boost line from Neutrogena. I was excited to try this product because I was looking for a body cream that had a gel formula, something that is lightweight and very hydrating. This product claims to be instantly hydrating to the skin. Also contains hyaluronic acid, which is a very hydrating ingredient and helps lock moisture into the skin. This is a good body lotion. Pros: -No fragrance, which is a plus if you are sensitive to fragrance or want to wear a perfume and only smell like your perfume and not a mix of scents. -Lightweight. This doesn't feel like a heavy thick cream on the skin. -bottle with a pump is super convenient, no mess application. -gentle for sensitive skin Cons: -felt greasy on my skin. I have terrible eczema. If a flare is triggered I can go from looking normal to looking like I've had a pot of boiling water thrown on me in no time. I have to carefully monitor every single product in apply to my skin and hair and watch my diet because anything can trigger a flare. My trigger is unknown but fragrances in lotions have triggered it before. So I avoid them and try to buy very moisturizing lotions as well. Many, many lotions do NOT work so I'm always very skeptical. I bought this on a lark expecting another loser but listen to me: it is AMAZING. But with this one my skin is CLEAR. The patches are just *gone*. I wish I had bought this long, long ago so my suffering could have been alleviated sooner. It's the best lotion out there for those of us with eczema. I hope you try it if you are a fellow sufferer!

I got this body gel lotion after using the Hydro Boost face gel, and have only been using it for less than two weeks. The first thing I noticed was the great scent; I know a lot of people don't like fragrance, but I enjoy some fragrance as long as it smells good, and this definitely smells good to me. It absorbs very quickly into the skin, and doesn't leave a greasy feel- almost feels as if there's nothing on your skin at all! I routinely put this on my entire body after showering. The only possibly negative thing I've noticed is that my hands have started getting random cracks again, however I credit that to a personal problem due to having unusually hard to treat skin on the hands. I do figure it's a combination of that plus the gel cream due to the fragrance. Overall, though, I love this and will continue to use on my body!

Excellent, showing results almost immediately!
7 September 2022

My daughter let me try her Neutrogena Hydro boost whipped body balm that comes in a tube and it was the most wonderful cream that I ever tried. It had a pleasant odor, did not feel greasy, and improved the dryness of my skin after just one or two applications. The problem was the price of it had more than doubled and it was out of stock almost everywhere I have tried to find it. So I bought Neutrogena hydroboost body gel cream in a pump dispenser and it is very good also. It has a very pleasant odor and really shows results quickly, making my skin feel silkier right away. I would prefer the tube only because it’s contents are a bit thicker, but it is definitely not worth the price compared to the body gel cream in the pump.

BIG nooooo for sensitive skin! I thought I would get this because it’s so light & could be a lotion I could apply daily & not hate the icky feeling you get from lotion . This stuff is horrible . It still give you that nasty lotion feeling when you put it on your body. I wouldn’t even call this lotion; it’s like 90% water with ingredients that make it thicker and into a gel-like consistency along with preservatives and anti-microbial ingredients It also has a VERY strong odor, emphasis on VERY. If you are interested in purchasing this I would suggest you twist off the top and give it a whiff to see if that’s what you want to smell like all day This did nothing for my skin except make it incredibly dry . I tried used it even after the shower, on a strict regular basis ... MoreBIG nooooo for sensitive skin! Literal perfection
18 June 2023

I'm sad that none of the Walmart stores close to me carry this anymore. I really hope they keep carrying it online. My skin is dry on the outside and dehyrated on the inside, exacerbated by diabetes. I can feel this lotion penetrate my skin better than literally anything else I've ever tried, including lotions and creams made for diabetics. It really does last a long time once applied, too. I live in Michigan, so in the winter I'll still top it with a thick cream like Nivea to prevent winter chapping, but this lotion on its own, extreme weather aside, is a solid 10. I really hope to see this product make a comeback in stores. I havent found anything that works nearly as well, and I'd be devastated to see this gone completely.

Works for my diabetic hands & feet!!
16 March 2023

Greatest lotion!!🧴 I also use the Neutrogena Hand Cream, but it’s a bit greasy. This is on another level! Wanted lotion that hydrates my feet, non greasy, or leaves you shiny. Has greatly improved hydration for my diabetic feet/hands & all day! I was having pain with cracking & dryness. I find works best out of shower to lock in on towel dried feet, or body. However, I apply anytime. Can’t find the smaller travel bottle ($6.50 😳) anywhere, so I bought 2 or 3 oz travel bottle & just refill for my bags. Pricy, but it’s worth the comfort. Glad I found this product!
