First off, everyone knows the legendary craftsmanship of the Made in the USA New Balances, and this 1300AE is no different. Other than some very minor glue marks on the Encap midsole, the shoe was beautifully constructed. The comfort being of older cushioning technology shoe was still very good. The shoes are lightweight, breathable, and has good support. The suede construction, nylon toebox, and even laces are top notch quality. The overall stitching is excellent with no loose or excess stitching. For sizing, I got my typical New Balance size. I am a TTS 9.5, and 9.5 fits next to perfect. The toebox has plenty of room. I love the 'retro' look of the shoe, and styles easily with shorts or jogger pants. I ordered this show simply because I liked the way it looked, and shipping was fast, came in 2 days early so I was excited, I love new balance because even in lower price shows your getting high quality and this pair was no exception, found no glue stains and the fit in new balance are always perfect. I have slightly wider feet and with every pair I owned from the 574 to now the 1300 my toes have room to move. And with ABZORB taking all of the midsole and the encap these shoes are like walking on heaven. This shoe is well made--no doubt. It's comfortable right out of the box. The styling is classic and cool as is the color scheme.My only complaints, or should I say annoyances, would be: The hard out sole. It's not that it feels hard but it sounds hard when you walk--almost like you're wearing boots. The other annoyance is heel slippage. I've never had this in a shoe. I even used the heel lock lacing technique (the extra hole at the top). This helped a bit but still I get heel slippage. Maybe this will go away as they break in more. Hope so.Aside from that I like these shoes a lot and believe I'll get lots of wear out of them.
The special edition 1300 for Japan that comes out every 5 years sold out fast this year and I missed out on them. So I bought this version of 1300 and it is an excellent product. I mostly use them on the weekends as lifestyle shoes - regular walking. The fit and size are similar as the 990v1 that I have. They are very comfortable and no need to break them in. I got 1/2 size up because I wear 2E width.
I have to give the highest rating as New Balance does a professional job from beginning to end. Furthermore, my shoes consistently last longer than the competition. I only wish the US made shoes were just a LITTLE more affordable. I pay the price only to help keep fellow Americans in business!
The shoes fit true to size, a little long but fits perfectly! I love the leather in the interior, makes it soo smooth to put on. Beside looking absolutely better than the images, this shoe is perfect‼
Have few NB1300s. Ordered that color since it was only available in Japan before. When shoe arrived I noticed quality problems in toe area - suede was bubbled and not perfect. It's second time I face quality problems on 1300 in past 2 months.Returned shoes by mail. NB received it on March 23rd - still didn't get refund.
I discovered the 1300 this year, and I am in love with the design, simplicity, and of course, quality. With that said, this is probably one of my favorite NB models in black. I am going to get white laces to go with this pair as well. Looking forward to more colors!

Notably - and I'm not sure if mileage will vary with the USA models - the sizing of the shoe feels possibly more true for the first time I have experienced.
