New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro V7

Having tried, all manner of boots, shoes and various types of sports shoe, for the second year I have worn the New Balance Hierro shoe with Vibram sole for a 100km walking event on tarmac, concrete and trails.The shoe performed fantastically, again, and in combination with twin skin socks resulted in zero rub points, zero blisters and overheating or moisture issues regardless of higher than average temperatures. Awesome shoe if you can wear it!

These shoes are very very comfortable! As long as you are use to 8mm heel stack then you’re fine. Also the toe box is wider than any of the brooks I tried on. My issue was I was not use to the 8mm heel stack and couldn’t get use to it for standing around at my job. I usually buy two pair of shoes. One for hiking and one for daily use. As someone who is coming from Altra, I wanted to find a shoe that lasted longer. If you know altra, you know they have never been reliable. Mine never got more than 150miles on them before the midsole flattened. These are a GREAT alternative to altra if you can get use to the heel stack. Comfortable shoes, upper durability concerns

I mostly like these shoes. I initially had some trouble with heel lockdown in my normal size, which surprised me because I’ve run predominantly in New Balance for years. (Disclosure: I bought these as everyday sneakers for winter use, not for trail running.) I was eventually able to resolve the heel slippage through lacing, though the shoes’ overall fit is quite a bit roomier throughout the shoe than New Balance’s road running shoes like the 880 or 1080. These are extremely comfortable with lots of midsole cushioning and a great Vibram outsole that provides excellent grip on a wide variety of surfaces, wet and dry. Comfortable, supportive, but I question the durability

I've mainly worn these for casual wear and some walking but nothing major yet. I bought them for hiking and walking in the Pacific Northwest where it's almost impossible to keep white shoes white. Anyway, the vibram soles are great. The shoes are comfortable, light weight and bouncy. They look better on my feet than I thought they would. However just after a couple of weeks and they are already showing signs of wear. That is with them in rotation with 3 other pairs of shoes at times. Also, there is a pad sewn into the tongue which I had to adjust the lacing for because it made the fit across the top of my foot tight. In summary, they are great shoes that I would consider buying again but I'm not sure how durable they are going to be. First NB Shoes

This is my first pair of NB shoes. I primarily use them for hiking here in northern Arizona. The Fresh Foam is softer than what I prefer but is tolerable. One thing I really like about them is that the footbed is flat, not curved, with the lacing holding my feet securely. The toe box is too narrow but again is tolerable. The upper is thin and comfortable but according to some (my wife), looks a bit wrinkled. There's a flap on the sole at the heel which doesn't seem to be necessary but doesn't cause any problems. Fresh Foam X Hierro v7 Extra Wide 4E Mens Trail Running Shoes Thunder

I have wide feet, orthotics & wear injinji socks. Im a healstriker with neutral pronation and 55 years old. My previous shoes for the past 4 years have been Topo Ultraadventure.My first ever pair of NB’s. Very comfortable from the off. I have my own ‘wierd’ lacing- which these shoes worked well with & width fitting was good. Like the stack & drop. Not as wide at the Topo so slightly less stable. Toe guard is good and heel debris guard a nice addition- I didn’t have gaiters on and didn’t pick up any dirt. Sole seems durable and provides good traction. Slight negative is toes tend to hit top of shoe on steep descents - I want up a half size so may need more lace adjusting. Expensive shoe - interesting to see longevity. So far a quality shoe so a thumbs up.

Good Winter Running Shoe

I was looking for something that was waterproof and Gore-Tex is perfect. I also wanted a shoe with great grip for the snow and ice on streets and sidewalks, but also a shoe built closer to a street runner than a trail runner. Basically a waterproof street runner with a better sole and grip.I ended up going with Fresh Foam Hierro V6 GTX last season as my primary outside running shoes during the winter. I was super pleased with it so this year I got the Fresh Foam Hierro V7 GTX as I’m getting close to end of life on the V6.The V6 and V7 are quite similar and the sizing seems to be about the same.There’s a couple of notable differences between the V7 and its predecessor. I definitely recommend the Hierro V7 GTX for those needing a waterproof shoe for winter running.

Great all around trail runners

They put soft foam on the BOTTOM (outsole) of the shoe!!

I ordered these on 7/13/2022 but wore them first on Thursday 08/11/2022.On Saturday September 3rd they started to kind of feel "off" and a weird noise was audible when walking. I examined the shoes and didn't see anything wrong, but the next day I noticed the noise more and really examined the shoes.For some reason they have put soft foam on the outsole of the shoe and it tore within a month of light San Diego hiking.I am increasingly disappointed with New Balance's design choices and feel that maybe soft foam should not be placed on the bottom of a trail running shoe, since you walk on dirt and rocks.I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE for someone to contact me who is designing these shoe so I can express how the quality has been going downhill since the 910s were ... MoreI ordered these on 7/13/2022 but wore them first on Thursday 08/11/2022.On Saturday September 3rd they started to kind of feel "off" and a weird noise was audible when walking. Unfortunately, being light is the only advantage this shoe has and because of that it lacks many other features.I rolled my ankle the first time I went for a run with this shoe - I thought okay, must get used to it.Rolled my ankle again next time. This shoe is lower and narrower than versions 5 and 6 that's why it's extremely unstable.If you are running rocks and/or roots stay away from this shoe.Ran a couple more times and never felt comfortable or stable again.
