I like New Balance’s Fresh Foam and the 1080s are a comfortable sneaker that does not feel heavy or bulky. The sneaker gives the right amount of cushion without sacrificing responsiveness. The 1080 V12 seems to run long in the toe box. I buy size 12s and it feels like there is more room between the big toe and tip of the sneaker. Nothing to cause a problem, but will want to try a 11.5 in the future. I also wear the 880s and 12s still fit fine.

I've put hundreds of miles on versions 10 and 11 of the 1080, and I can say that version 12 is the better of the three by a considerable margin. I think some of this has to do with a better heel lockdown; I'm simply not cranking the laces like I felt I had to before. But the rest of the upper has improved, too, which is commendable.Finally, the shoe just *looks* better. I love the design of this version, and it makes me want to reach for it more. The weird veiny vibe of 10 and 11 is gone, and I couldn't be happier about that.Overall, what a shoe, and what an improvement! I'm so excited to spend the summer cruising in the 1080v12.

I've been running on 1080's for a while now. My last pair of 1080 v11's were starting to reach the end. I was curious about the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3's. I tried those. After getting blisters, twice, from the Endorphins I returned them to Fleet Feet and bought the 1080 v12's. I have put down a few heavy runs this week with them. I bought the v12's a week ago. I have already put 50 miles on them and they feel great, nice cushion, yet they can be responsive and allow me to pick up the pace if needed. On Wednesday it rained on me during a 10 mile run. Within minutes I was soaked, the shoes were soaked. I finished the run. No blisters and the shoes were dry in-time for another long run the next morning. These are my favorite shoe.

In my opinion these are seriously good shoes! I am 66 years old, make a point to walk 10,000+ steps daily, and these shoes are by far the most comfortable I have worn yet. And I just literally wore down the tread on my previous 880 V12s, which I liked as well. These just seem to be that much more comfortable, still offering the same, great support. I highly recommed, especially at the current sale price the Running Room is offering!
I bought these as an additional long distance trainer. So far they have worked very well doing just that. I have done a couple of tempo runs. The 1080v12 is not a great tempo shoe.Still these are plush, comfortable and come in a cremesicle color way. What more can you ask for to eat up miles?They do run ridiculously large. The only shoe I’ve had in recent years that wasn’t true to size. Had to go a half size down.
I have been running for over 51 year and am having a resurgence in my success from younger years after a 30 year lapse in any racing. I was also a volunteer high school cross country and track coach in my 50s and so I am a very educated in running shoes and training techniques.I can say enough about the NB 1080 V12. I wore my first pair two years ago and have never looked back. It provides a level of protection for my mature legs that is priceless and even put an energy back in them that I have not experienced in recent years. A 21:19 5k at 65 validated that. Thanks for the great job with a shoe that gave me a second life in running!
This is a follow up review. I bought these 1080 V12s in mid-July. I reached 500 miles on them yesterday. Even though they’re not my favorite rendition of the 1080 I still loves them. They did great with short runs and even a couple of 20 mile runs in training for a marathon next week. They are perfect for a recovery day shoe. For the last month and a half I’ve been using these in-between days when I use a much faster shoe. I love putting these on the day after a faster tempo day, or a hill day. After 500 miles the shoes are in great shape. The harder plastic eyelets at the top have cracked and the laces snag on them when tying, just a small issue. Plenty of outer sole to go. I ordered online and went with every recommendation and review I saw about it running large and best to go half size down at least. I'm usually US 10 but ordered 9.5 based on all of those other internet reviews including on the official New Balance website and now I'm taking them back after trying on to request to exchange for a US 10. Or maybe even 10.5 because the sole seems too short, stubby and make me worried I'll twist an ankle on the toe off phase. The toe room lengthwise is now easily less than a finger width for me which means I'd be poking holes in them later on. I searched for a great pair of running shoes that I liked for a long time, and these were it. They've been great for running. However, the sole around the perimeter and rubber sole are becoming unglued. For a whopping $160 pair of shoes, the quality should be much better. New Balance should provide warranty, yes warranty. I run one or two times a week except during cold/hot days. After only one year of owing these, they began to fall apart, not completely but the issue makes the shoe slide side to side more easily. New Balance needs to have better quality control. Now I'm stuck deciding whether I want to get the new model and pay that much money again.
