My son has wide feet and NB shoes are the only ones that fit well and allow him to play comfortably. He's a competitive player, so good quality, good fitting cleats are essential. Had a bit of a scare when it became hard to find these wide versions, so now I am sure to buy a back up pair just in case. They might not be the flashiest (although the design has become cooler over the last few iterations according to my son), but they are the best fitting. We recommend them to anyone who wants a solid performing shoe.

Really love this shoe, but it needs more sole. Specifically, the sole is too thin and flexible. Even with my added insoles I feel like there was very little support. There are so many other aspects of this shoe that I love though so I still want to give it a good review. New Balance please add a bit more support and stiffness to the 442 V2 Team VF and you'll have the best turf shoe on the market. Also, very thankful that you offer these in wide.

I was excited to get these turf shoes in because they were advertised as a wide fit. I also waited almost 5 months to receive them because they were on backorder! But I would not classify these as a truly wide shoe. The leather area will stretch a bit with some use but the sole is actually still narrow. It feels like the ball of my foot is on the edge of the shoe. I would say these are just "okay" but I don't like when shoes claim they are a wide fit and they actually are not. I have a high arch but my foot is not extremely wide. I also sized up to a 10 from a 9.5. On the positive side the material is decent and they have a nice touch on the ball.

This shoe was a third purchase after two returns of other new balance football boots. 13 wide was too small. However, 13.5 wide was a perfect fit for me. I don't normally wear wide shoes but it was necessary for these boots. My everyday shoes are wide toe box minimalist shoes in size 13. The half a size was perfect. On the pitch, the boots perform great. I would have preferred full leather boots but this synthetic material was good. It feels real good kicking, receiving, and passing. They are also really comfortable both sprinting and running. I'm really happy with these boots.
I have bought the Adidas Mundial Team turf shoes for several years now because they were the only ones that stood up to the beating I put on my turf shoes. However, their width designation is D which means medium as anyone that has wide feet knows and that means my foot is not fully supported by the sole. I usually wear a 4E which is extra wide so D is a far cry from 4E as there is E, 2E, 3E, then 4E in width categories. These particular shoes are a 2E designation. I figured I would try them even if they were not kangaroo leather. Kangaroo leather is the best in cleats for softness and stretching to feet width. I have played two games in these shoes so far and I have found a viable replacement for the Adidas shoes I have always worn. Kangaroo leather and 4E width. If NB did these two things I would never look back.
I listened to the reviewers and ordered a size up, the shoes were huge. I'm not sure what kinds of shoes these people are used to wearing but you probably don't need to order a whole size up. That being said, I have no idea how these shoes are because New Balance doesn't accept exchanges (even though their website says they do) and they have probably the 2nd worst customer service I've ever dealt with (thanks for nothing Crissy). I've spent about a month now exchanging emails with this absolutely unhelpful human being and still don't have the soccer shoes I was so excited about getting. Will definitely opt for another company's products next time.
I purchased these indoor soccer shoes before starting the latest indoor season. I needed wides and these fit the bill. After using them for a few matches, my feet do not hurt like they did with my old indoor shoes. Great grip and very sturdy. They do run about a half size small and are fairly narrow even being wides. Would definitely recommend.
Day one impressions, solid build quality. There are half a size larger than my other cleats including NB ones, so that is disappointing. They feeling challenging to get that lockdown feeling, the sizing issue likely factors into this. Additionally they feel a little firm, hopefully this gets better with wear. If you like sock like boots, steer clear of these. Lastly, I think they are overpriced for the level of comfort they provide. I'd skip these.
Ordered 12 Wide (2E), but the shoes are too short and narrow. The length is not true to size and the Wide 2E order is super narrow. Strangely, the rubber sole is very narrow, it appears that a slightly wider upper was stitched onto a standard or narrow rubber sole. Weird that the instep on the shoe is significantly wider than the sole. Not a good design overall. For perspective, I ordered a the 696v4 tennis shoes in the same size and width at the same time. The tennis shoes are true to size and width, massively wider than the 442v2 soccer shoes. The tennis shoes in the same 12 2E size appear to be an inch longer and perhaps 1/2" wider.
This the only turf shoe I was able to find that would accommodate my short and wide feet. I tried both Adidas and Nike and even the models that were recommended for wide feet felt way too narrow for me. After a lot of trial and error, I was able to find a comfortable combination for play; Currex CleatPro insole and Tabio or WeFoot thin grip socks.Pros:"Wide" widthRemovable insoleCons:May still be too narrow for someColorways are pretty generic
