i was specifically fitted for the NB 880 a couple of years ago by Black Dog Running, Myrtle Beach . this is probably my 8th pair since as i wear down the outer tread in 3 - 4 months . i have consistently found them to give my feet and ankles the support i need protecting me from injury . about 4 pairs back i allowed the tread to wear thin and i began to have problems in the top of foot . i replaced the shoes and immediately began to have relief . this is the first time i have purchased directly from NB . they had my not common size in stock and delivered the shoes within a week with a $10 discount .

I recently purchased a new pair of running shoes and have been extremely impressed with their comfort and fit. From the moment I put them on, I could tell that they were going to be a game changer for my runs. The cushioned sole feels like I'm running on clouds, and the shoe fits snugly without feeling too tight or constricting.I've taken these shoes on several runs now, and they've performed beautifully. They provide excellent support and stability, and I feel confident in my stride while wearing them. The durability of the shoe has also impressed me - despite logging a lot of miles, they show no signs of wear and tear.Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend these running shoes to anyone looking for a comfortable and ... They've quickly become my go-to choice for all of my runs, and I look forward to putting many more miles on them in the future.

These are good everyday stanby training shoes for feet that don't need extra stability. Nothing fancy, nothing cutting edge. Decent cushion and durable. Good price. The biggest concern I've had with the five pairs I've used in the last two or so years is that the width sizing has not been consistent. I alternate between two pairs for my runs and I definitely noticed a definite difference in the width of the second and third pair; enough that I wore different socks depending on which pair I was using. The last two pair did not have this issue, but their width was between the widths of the prior two pairs. I have read that the sizing for version 12 is different than that of the 11s I've been using. This has never caused any problems for me, e.g. no blisters, but it was somewhat concerning.

I use the shoe for distance walking. I believe I have purchased every version of the 880 shoe, including two of the latest version with the "soft foam" styles. While the shoe is comfortable, it is not as durable as earlier versions of the 880. The "white" area in the bottom of the shoe actually shreds and blackens when used for walking on hard surfaces like paved streets and sidewalks. I have kept the last version before the material transitioned to the "soft foam" feature because I "repurposed" them for wearing at the gym. The bottoms of these early 880 shoes look to be in much better condition than the two "soft foam" versions I have purchased even though the shoe was used longer on the same paved surfaces. I have run in the Nike Pegasus for decades and used it as a daily trainer and distance run show. Worked great for me until the 37. The 37 and 38 (that's when I gave up on Pegasus) were changed to the extent that they no longer worked for me. I tried the NewBalance 880 v11 to replace it having never run in NB. It's a great shoe. I don't have 100 miles in it yet but it feels great and very similar to the Pegasus 35 and 36. Has a softer feel than Pegasus and I was afraid I would lose power in the transfer to the ground but my times say otherwise. It's a great shoe and, so far, appears to have excellent construction. Minor difference but the laces are excellent where Nike had changed them out about 6 or versions ago that untied frequently. Again, minor difference but ... I love this shoe...I have worn NB for many years and have put hundreds of miles on each pair. I go in a run at work and have found that the one thing I believe needs to be addressed is the soles. The tops look amazing....BUT Over a period of 3 months the soles break down FAST and start falling apart. Maybe add reinforcement in the heel and extra glue on the soles as I have to reglue them to keep the shoe together. I plan on using this brand as long as possible. Best shoe I can find for me....BUT neeed this issue addressed please. Sincerely, KH
Use this shoe primarily for work since I stand for 8+ hours a day. Has an extreme level of cushion and the fitment for the uppers is very good. Overall, think the shoe is an exact fit shoe. Example: If you are an 11 it will be right at your toes in the front. It did not feel uncomfortable for this but it is something to note.Would recommend this shoe for someone that likes to go on walks or just want extra comfort at work. The only gripe I have it the tongue of the shoe tends to shift as there is no inner liner to keep it from moving from the center. Other shoes in the class either have a way to correct this or doesn't have the same slippery tongue issue as this one.Overall, for what this shoes is meant to achieve the tongue slipping is a minor critique for an ... Speaking as someone who has run in New Balance since the original 620, 880s are still a good, relatively lightweight, relatively neutral (no shoe is truly neutral) responsive shoe. (Actually, the 901/902/903 series were much better shoes AND lasted much longer.) In my experience, people tend to buy New Balance because they are so responsive, and better constructed. They don't buy them for the long life, at least not the 880.The 10mm heel drop is not good for anyone who wears orthotics, and anyone who wears orthotics should wear as neutral a shoe as possible, else they be over controlled. Go back to the 12mm heel drop, ala the 880 V4 and the Mizuno Wave Rider, which is a lighter, more controlling shoe, but nowhere near as responsive as an 880.I'm not impressed ... The problem with these is that they are nothing like my V11s I bought at a local store, nor are they the same as V10's which I also own. I don't know what they are but they are no where near as comforable as either. If I didn't know Joe's was an offshoot of New Balance I would think these were knock offs. I called the company about this and got plenty of apologies and -0- satisfaction. "I could ship them back for a refund" is not good service. In the mean time I have had to add insoles to the ones in the shoes to make them useable but still comfortable not like my others. I really doubt I will buy from Joe's again. Slow shipping, incorrect, strange item, and poor service.......ps. They got a second star becuase it was a great price though not worth it.
There are only two good things about this shoe, the way it fits and their looks. Beyond that they are a waste of money! I purchased a pair of 880 V11s on May 11, 2022 and received them in a fairly timely manner. I've been a loyal Brooks buyer for more than 18 years, but I wasn't fond of the way their new styles looked. So I figured I'd give NB a try, I'm a big guy, but have a neutral gate, so I figured these 880s would be a good fit. These shoes were only good for the first day I wore them. I work part time at a local retail sporting goods store a few times a week and the EVA soles only held up for my first 6 hour shift. After that they were compressed and started squeaking as I walk. I've worn them a few times since, as they are the only athletic shoe I have at the ... MoreThere are only two good things about this shoe, the way it fits and their looks. I've worn them a few times since, as they are the only athletic shoe I have at the moment, and they leave my feet sore for days. I wish I could get a refund, but I'm sure that's not going to happen. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. I would recommend these to my worst enemy.
