I need a shoe with stability due to spinal stenosis. The NB860 is a great shoe for this issue.Do I miss wearing cute sandals, flats and flip flops? Yes I do and I can wear flats but not for hours on end. I buy the 860 in different colors so I can coordinate them with what I am wearing. I will be 76 years old next month and want be able to walk without assistance(cane; walker) for as long as possible. I believe this shoe is helping me with that.

These are the BEST shoes I’ve ever owned. I researched the shoes with the best arch support for walking and these looked the most fashionable. I’ve never been happier and more comfortable walking. I’m well supported and I already feel an improvement with my ankle and knee. The pain is so much less and it’s only been two weeks! I walk about 50+ miles a week and these will be a game changer!!!

I have high arches and need a shoe that can prevent me from having foot pain. These shoes have great arch support and don't give me pain. I rated them 4 instead of 5 because of quality... relative to other shoes (Hoka and Keen for me) that also work for high arches, this shoe is also cheaper and I'm sure won't last as long. So if you have this issue, I think you should spend the extra $20-$50 to get a better quality shoe.

I got hooked on New Balance shoes after I started walking (in earnest to lose weight) in 1998. When I buy a pair that really fits and is comfortable I immediately buy the same shoe at least once, sometimes more. Dang I was stuck on 1223’s for years. I had so many pairs waiting in the closet. My last pair of 880’s were showing wear so I stopped to buy another pair. While there I tried on some 860’s and loved the way they fit. It’s all about the tongue! It’s sewn to the insides of the shoe, which seems to steady my foot-balance wise. I had them about a month and noticed they were on sale and in a different color. Win-win. I love them…
The NB 860 in a D width is my go to shoe and has been for YEARS (devoted 860 fan).Years ago, I kept getting cramping when I was running and got the advice from a running room employee to choose a D width shoe. I have been in these shoes since version 3 or 4 and keep coming back. The V13 has a nice thick cushion and is very comfortable/absorbs a lot of shock when running. The way the shoes tie up feels nice and snug, and the lacing system feels like my foot is very secure.I had an issue with the v12's where my normal size didn't fit so I waited until the v13's came out and these fit like a glove!I'll be back for v14 when these wear out!
The shoe is very comfortable and perfect for orthotics. But I do agree with others that the shoe does run short. I have 3 other pairs of NB’s in my closet size 11 and this new pair in a 11.5 is short. It’s frustrating! I also think the attached tongue is annoying. It can make the shoe feel tight. I cut it finally.
Exceptionally comfortable and supportive. My feet have had two surgeries and are aging. They are wide with high arches and minimal padding left underneath. With this shoe I had no “break in” period and have never caused any pain or problems since day one. I liked them so much I bought a second pair!
I have a narrow foot 2A. Without exaggeration I have been buying the 860 series for at least the last 14 years. They have been reliable except for around 2012 to 2014 where the sole was thinner and hurt my feet. My podiatrist said the style of sneaker was a good practice builder. Anyway I buy a new pair every year. About 2017 when it began to be stylish, I bought the black color out of the very limited choice of colors for narrow width. For 3yr I wore black. Then for the past 4-5 yrs the only other choice was the light blue. I 've purchased that color for the past 4 yrs. Sick of the choices, and it seems that the only choice is the black recently. I have watched the parade of cool color choices for med and wide widths over the yrs. You have to be able to increase ... MoreI have a narrow foot 2A. I have watched the parade of cool color choices for med and wide widths over the yrs. You have to be able to increase the choices for narrow. I know the argument is that fewer people purchase narrow. Then make the limited color choices from the ones w med and wide widths- NOT BLACK OR POWDER BLUE! UGH!
I have worn NB 860 for many years. Always have been very happy with them. This version the 13 is just not for me. I don’t know what is different, but I get foot, knee and hip pain whenever I wear them. I tried replacing the insoles with custom orthotics, and over the counter insoles but nothing helps. Unfortunately I bought 2 pair when on sale and I can’t wear either one. Just wasted over $200- since I tried them on and thought they were ok- didn’t wear them right away, so too late to return.
I bought a wide and it does not feel wide AT ALL. It’s tight. Something about the lining around the ankle is different & rubbing but maybe it’s because it’s so tight. Have always worn a 9 wide, no problems. Wish they wouldn’t change every year, wish they hadn’t changed to this “fresh foam” and wish they’d have a medium grey/pink color option.
