I received a pair of Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 men's shoes size 9 with black, white, silver, teal, and purple colors on the shoe. First off, the attractiveness of the shoes is on point! They are very sleek and look like an expensive pair, so Nike has really stepped up with their styles and color plays. My husband was ecstatic as soon as he opened the box. After admiring the look of the shoe for awhile, he tried them on and walked around for a bit. He is pretty close to a true size 9 and these shoes fit him perfectly. If he was to buy another pair of these shoes he would get the exact same size. He has worn these a couple of days in a row and so far has not felt uncomfortable in them whatsoever. Other than the attractiveness and the comfort, these shoes seem to be made well and feel pretty durable. Although they are fly-knit, they seem like they would last for a good amount of time with average wear and tear. Sometimes fly-knit can seem pretty flimsy but not the case with this pair of shoes. The only thing that my husband has said about what he would change is the fin on the back of the shoe. I believe the fin is there because they are meant to be running or training shoes, which makes sense to have a fin on the back, but aesthetically, my husband would prefer not to have that. That is the only complaint he has had for this pair of shoes, so overall these were a great find. He says he would highly recommend and would also buy another pair of these shoes. He is happy and I can tell he really likes them. He is a shoe guy and is normally fairly critical of shoes so these ones did well. Overall, a great shoe!

These are very comfy. And the sale price is killer! Purchasing a 2nd pair because of this. BUT, my order came unboxed, in a bag, and had two small pink stains I managed to stain-remove. The white around the edges of the soles also had to be cleaned. Hence the 4 star, instead of 5 star review. I have plantar fasciitis, so I am always hunting for comfy shoes to walk, workout, and work in. These are perfect, and cheaper than Brooks and Hoka, but just as comfortable.

I purchased this pair to be my boyfriends FIRST pair of running shoes ever. From the moment he slipped these on his jaw droppedof how comfortable they were. He was literally shocked! He said they felt like clouds hugging his feet, comfortable to walk around a theme park 10times and as if they were made for his feet!He wanted to use them around the house (and he did!) “just because” of how comfortable they were! He didnt wait to break them in for his walk/run and used it to go do errands. After using these shoes for a year, I can officially say that these shoes are great all-in-one running shoes. They work for cross country, marathons, practically anything that you can think of. After using them for a year, they only look like dirt has taken them over. The foam has not worn off, and they still look, and feel great after 300 miles. I’ll definitely be using them for another year, as they are extremely reliable. However, there are some pros and cons. PROS: Very light for their size, fits almost any foot type, and comfortable for longer and shorter runs. Foam will hold for a long time, shows no sign of shrinking or tears.CONS: White soles will get dirty easily, and the normal version of the shoe has a very wide front-end, making it quite spacious in the ... MoreAfter using these shoes for a year, I can officially say that these shoes are great all-in-one running shoes. (Some may find it uncomfortable)CONCLUSION: great running shoe for any event, tackles marathons and 5-10k’s easily. For narrow to medium feet. If you like this, you should try the vaporflys, as they feel quite similar, as they are just a beefed up version of these shoes.
I've bought several pairs of shoes from another well known brand that's known for the comfort aspect but doesn't always make the best looking trainers! These Nike ones, although a little pricier, are definitely worth it. Really comfortable, even on long days of walking. The only thing I'm not massively keen on is the breathable fabric as your feet can get a little cold, and they're not great in wet weather. Not sure why manufacturers have stopped making leather trainers!I'm normally a size 9 but had to go for 9.5 in these as the 9's were too snug.
Overall, if I could only have one running shoe, the Pegasus 38 would be it.The Pegasus 38 has an interesting dual personality. At slower paces, the Zoom air-bag feels cushioned and does a good job damping out impact forces. At faster paces, the air-bag feels firmer and provides a noticeable rebound effect. The outsole traction is excellent, even for mild trail running. The crash-rail on the outer edge of the outsole is excellent for supinators who tend to put heavy wear in this area. The only downside is the Pegasus 38 required about 40 miles to really break-in. Initially, I could feel the creases in the Zoom air-bag on my right foot. These creases caused numbness and some discomfort initially on the ball of my foot. I liked the 37 better because it was thinner and breathed better. This is a different shoe. It's thicker and has a lot more cushion. It took a long while for that to break down and settle. I love them now but the tread is gone so I need new ones again. I don't like lacing tight and the cushion forced it to sit back on my foot too far. too much cushion. Its still a fantastic shoe. I often get shoes between 9 and 9.5. I always need the 9.5 in Nike.
When I’m browsing for a new pair of running shoes there are 4 main categories that I think about: look, comfort/fit, performance and durability.Look: From the moment I popped open the lid of the Nike box, I was impressed. The difficulty that I have in choosing running shoes is that I look for bright colors or crazy designs, and those don’t usually exist in men’s running shoes. I get jealous when I go to local running shops with my wife. She has all these awesome color to pick from, and then, I have white, white, gray gray, blue, black, black/gray…oh and the one solid lighter blue. However, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 has a unique design with accent details of purple and pink in the lace eyelets, blue stitching and an awesome teal bottom which pops against the ... MoreWhen I’m browsing for a new pair of running shoes there are 4 main categories that I think about: look, comfort/fit, performance and durability.Look: From the moment I popped open the lid of the Nike box, I was impressed. However, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 has a unique design with accent details of purple and pink in the lace eyelets, blue stitching and an awesome teal bottom which pops against the black and white backdrop of the remainder of the shoe. Needless to say, they look awesome, and my wife was jealous of me for once. My only wish was that the laces themselves would’ve been teal to match the sole of the shoe. It would’ve been a clutch detail.Comfort/Fit: To my surprise, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 fit true to size and almost like a glove (I run a men’s size 11). I have difficulty when purchasing running shoes because I have a narrow heel and midfoot but a wide forefoot. Usually, I try to look for shoes that have a wider toe box to accommodate my flipper feet, and although I wouldn’t consider the Pegasus 38 a wide toe box, it does have room at the end. I can still feel a slight cramping against the outer wall in the toe box that forces my pinky toe in, but, compared to other Nike shoes I have run in, this is a dramatic improvement. I will also say that the lacing eyelets allow for a snug fit, and the laces that come with the shoe are long enough to perform a lace lock with the remaining eyelet holes at the top. One downfall that I noticed during my run with the Pegasus 38 was that, although the mesh upper is meant to breath, I could feel my foot heating up rapidly. This may only get worse in the hot North Carolina sun. A little more breathability would be nice while maintaining the strength of the upper.Performance: This was definitely a mid-distance shoe. I have run distances between 1 mile and a marathon in all types of shoes. I took this one out for a 10k run of varying hills, flats and added in some Fartlek bits, and I would say that I would not want to run much further in it. For a 5k-10k course, this shoe will operate nicely. However, I felt as if the shoe was a little heavy, and I could feel the pavement with every step. Feeling the earth is great for speed, temp or threshold workouts, but it’s not my cup of tea for long runs or easy runs. The shoe itself rode like a neutral, and I could definitely feel a snap in my step when I picked up the pace. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 was responsive and is the perfect shoe for running paved greenways or pea gravel flat trails, but it would not be my go to for hill workouts in my rotation. I felt as if the shoe was forcing me to over pronate will climbing a hill and the rigid feel coming down the other side…well…my thighs will be feeling it tomorrow. All in all, a great shoe for mid-distance hard workouts on flats.Durability: This one is hard to say based on my first few runs. So far, the shoe has held up well, and I am trying to keep the pristine white heel clean. Usually, I like to give my shoes a good 50 miles to break in, and then make a judgement call. But, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 appears to be quality made, stitched well and my hope is that they will break in and glide like butter on my future runs and not break down. Time will tell.
I've been wearing Nike's Air Zoom Pegasus 38 for about 3 days now. My first impression after unpacking was that the shoe looked and felt awesome! I thought that the coloring on the lace loops are not colors I would choose but I've still rocked these as much as possible since they came in! The lace loops are like a multi-coloring of pink, purple, and aqua and it looks sweet against the black and white of the shoe but it's just not my normal color palette when choosing shoes. The shoes are incredibly light, and the materials are really high quality compared to other running shoes I've owned. The shoes are incredibly light, and the materials are really high quality compared to other running shoes I've owned. The upper sole around the front doesn't feel like I can poke my toe through when putting some miles on them and the tongue is cushioned but not overly padded so it's really comfortable. I've got a slightly wide foot and usually I buy my every day shoes a little big to have the right width if they don't come in a wide. However, these shoes fit like they were custom made for me! When I purchase running shoes I typically go a half size smaller but these shoes are true to fit and a little giving on the sides so I'm glad I got my correct foot size and didn't overshoot for width. They aren't too constricting even when lacing them up pretty tight. I love the padding on the bottom sole and even after some pretty heavy use these past 3 days, I haven't had creases really form. I've clocked in about 15 miles equally off trail in a rock/ clay mix, on asphalt, and on a treadmill and have not had any foot soreness from breaking them in. The back like 1/2 inch of the shoe doesn't seem to ever touch the ground but I have noticed that off asphalt that part helped me keep my balance if I hit a hole or rock while running. I'm a sneaker freak even when buying shoes for a purpose and I've been really happy about the way people have turned to look at my shoes when running or even just wearing them today to the dentist's office. It's a running shoe but it goes with so much. Again, my only complaint was that the coloring on the loops for the laces and the aqua for the sole is not my typical style or color choice, but I've taken it as a badge to prove I'm still looking good even in those colors. These are honestly some of the most comfortable running shoes I own and I'm so happy to own them!
I am an avid Nike supporter and I love the Pegasus in general. However, this model really falls short. Given the flyease lacing system, wearers are only able to tighten the top half of the laces. Wearers cannot tighten the bottom half of the laces because the entire lacing system is not connected. The bottom half of the lace is sewn into the shoe's upper and is not attached to the top half of the lace. As such, wearers cannot tighten below mid-point of the shoe's tongue. Personally, I need the laces much tighter as I have a narrow foot, and because this is not possible with this model, my feet and toes really slide in the toe box area. Nike should have disclosed this fact in the product description; I would not have purchased had I known this fact. Buyer beware.
