I saw these Nike Cortez while shopping for Christmas gifts in Oct. I wanted to get a pair for myself and asked how well stocked they were in SFBloomies. I kept going back and back, but never got them. I finally went go purchase them in Jan but SF was out of my size, I waited too long. I really wanted them and was willing to buy the size 11 instead of the 9.5's. Fortunately, the stylist I was working with found my size in several stores in So Cal. AND it was on Sale! That was a nice surprise! They're a throw back to when i first had them back in the 80's. I loved them then, and LOVE them now. They go with my business casual, jeans or totally relaxed pair of sweats! They've been added to my casual shoe rotation! Great fit, great classic look. I would go back and get ... 1976 was my favorite year. I have the Black Trans Am that been resto-modded, Tom Petty Live Anthology and these shoes. Don't forget to order a 1/2 up just like back in the day. Glad I found these, very comfortable. I assume they'll be a mess after wearing them a few times because I'm sure nothing has changed. At least I can afford all the pairs I want today, unlike 1976.

I would definitely recommend these shoes. Before you know it, you'll be hitting up your local arcade getting the high score on Galaga, taking a long run with your Sony Walkman, or playing Yars' Revenge on your Atari 2600 with your best friends while listening to Judas Priest on your turntable. Really though, no matter what you do in these shoes you're going to look pretty righteous...dude.
I could not wait for these to arrive and they did not disappoint! Love them just like I did 40 urs ago people really notice and comment on them and I am proud of the low price I snatched them up at on Zulily !
Recently I have been trying to improve my life and make myself into a person I can be proud of, I'm not saying these shoes did that for me, but when I wear them out I feel like a million dollars. I originally wanted them because I was trying to care more about how I look and liked how simple they were but they still have the "I wore these for a reason" look to them. Then I learned how much history there is behind the shoes. My mom saw them and told me my dad would only ever wear Cortez, I'm originally from California but have been living in Arizona and Cortez definitely has a history from California and I feel like they are a nod to the fact that that is where I'm from as well. I am happy to have these shoes.
Bought as a gift for my husband that loved & was crushed when discontinued in the 80s. He was shocked I was able to find as he didn't know they came out of the vault. Got another pair for my granddaughter. They are both very happy.
I mean, it was like an alarm went off in my head, you know. I said, here's a guy that's got his act together. Here's somebody who's got it, all figured out. Here's somebody who has the answer. The answer is these shoes!
I usually wear an 8.5 in my Jordan 1's, Air Forces, SB Dunks, Jordan 4's, Jordan 6's and Jordan 7. I even can fit in an 8 Wide in the Air Monarchs. That being said, these run small so I highly urge you to go .5 up.
ok so I know this shoe is not specifically a running shoe but damn is it nice fits good runs good very comfortable with some nice looking colorways tooonly problem I have is that everybody calls them bowling shoes like seriously everybody calls these bowling shoesaside from that an overall very nice pair of shoes that have lasted me a while
