The rope unscrews from the left handle after about 1 minute / 120 jumps. It's dangerous because it tends to happen while jumping and can whip someone who is standing or passing by within the full length of the rope. Poor design due to the direction of the threads. Plus the materials of the rope/handle squeak. It's loud and annoying.

If your gonna get a speed rope getta classic wooden one not this piece of junk Nike doesn’t make good sports equipment if your gonna go lookin for any kind of equipment go for adidas there so much better Nike just scams people now all there good for now is fashion not sports

I’ll start this review by saying I’ve never jumped rope before as an adult so I don’t really have anything else to compare to. I got this Nike rope at my local Dicks store and after a few adjustments, I think it’s doing what it’s meant to do. Adjustments: 1. I added a little bit of vegetable oil to the balls holding the rope to help them rotate better. Since I did that the rope doesn’t wrap around the handles anymore. 2. I used super glue to glue the end of the rope that kept coming off the handle. Only one end so I can still adjust from the other end in the future if I need to. 3. Adjust length slowly. The first time I adjusted the height, I followed the instructions that come with the rope and I ended up cutting it too short so I had to buy a other one. I've always used the regular 5mm PVC jump ropes without bearings or fancy mechanisms. I decided to give this Nike rope a try. It took some time to get used to because it was tangling often. The tangling was due to the fact that the rope was new and was too long. I cut the rope a little at a time until it felt perfectly suited for me. After using the rope almost everyday for 2 weeks, it stopped tangling when doing anything that doesn't involve consecutive cross-overs. I was able to do the same tricks as I did with the pvc rope, but at a faster speed with this Nike rope. I used this rope a few times outdoors on concrete. It held up fine. I mostly use it in the gym. It's very durable if used indoors. I've been using this rope for a month now. It's great.
The unit quality is not that great, especially its adjustment for rope length. Need to carry an L-key as well as be very careful in handling the small parts to unscrew - adjust and screw. Had to return it back
I will say that before I worked the cable with some hot water the cable kept twisting and tangled while using it. Other than that it's a nice basic jump rope that gets the job done
Truly I am ill for having got this. Cheap AND dumb. Sad day for jumping when this was first suggested by some Nike Exec trying to ike out just a little more cash from our pockets. Probably was trying to sort out what to do with a sweatshop that had a little too much downtime and thought "why don't we make em make trash jump ropes!"If this product were I movie, I'd happily spoil it for you to and tell you what happens at the end: the jump rope breaks, and it's trash.
I do not recommend this product because it does not glide smoothly. I can't jump more than 40 seconds without it tangling all over me. The handles are ok, but the rep itself it is not worth! I would put some more money and get a better one. Surely I will not buy another one made with the same material. The way they are packaged does not help ether.
I can't believe Nike would put this product out on the market. The handles come unscrewed about every 10 jumps. I will be returning. Disappointed in Nike.
worst jump rope i have ever used, rope is not balanced, ball bearings gets stuck and rope gets tangled and does not move freely, worst nike product, considering to stop buying anything that is nike
