Everything about this boot is great except the ankle zip up design. It is literally strangling my ankles so that hurt. There is no reason a boot should hurt when you have them on. Width is fine. Going to return these asap.

First, I want to say this shoe looks amazing and is going to look awesome on the United States athletes in the Olympics!Right out of the box you can tell this shoe has been well made. The shoe has a thick rubber sole with a nylon and rubber type mixed upper. The combination of the white USA with the red accents just scream patriotism. The shoe is not heavy like I expected and is certainly water resistant as advertised (Its raining this morning and the shoe still feels fresh and dry! The shoe rises above my ankle and gives much better support than I initially expected.The heal of the shoe is probably a little over an inch and tapers down to just below a half inch. The shoe provides a great cushion when walking. If it just zipped straight up the front of up the side it probably wouldn't be so bad. However, it starts on the outside of your foot, goes across your foot on an angle and around your ankle.So first problem with this design is that when you put your foot in the shoe, there is the booty type insole you slip your foot into that is attached to the shoe. When you go to zipper the shoe up, that booty has a tag that you pull on to adjust your foot inside and it gets caught in the zipper. So its a little annoying tying to push down on the booty with one hand while trying to zip the shoe up with the other. Once you get past the top of your foot and have to go around the ankle it gets a little tricky. You have to almost stand and put your foot on a 90 degree angle with your leg to get the quarters to line up to zip. That is a bit annoying but its tolerable.Overall the shoe is great and I would recommend as a good all purpose shoe, especially if you are in a colder or damper climate. Also is a good shoe if you just want to sport your patriotism and the US

Read other reviews waited for a discount. Cushion is nothing special. Fit is good true to size only issue is some extra toe space. Width adequate. No clamp or uncomfortable feeling. Zipper isn't weak but I can see how if you don't stand and try to force it closed you could break it. I give the shoe 3 stars overall. Design gets a four, execution gets a three. If you are on the fence I'd pass, but I'm not returning these.
