A Classic Shoe Updated

The Nike Cortez is a Nike classic that has been updated to its current version. The look is low profile and stylish and will definitely get you compliments. They will take you back to your teenage years. The Cortez are easy to put on and the laces stay secured during walks. However, the breathability was mediocre. If you use them to work out in, you’ll sweat a good amount. If only using them as street shoes then this is not a huge issue. During my workout, I felt like the shoes squeezed my foot and I then had to loosen the laces. I also felt like they did not have enough arch support during intense workouts. After a few uses, I saw some creases in the leather and it seems impossible to get rid of them. I would recommend ordering at least ½ or maybe even 1 size up.I do recommend these shoes but only for “street shoes” and not for workouts.

A great classic that is always in style

I have always been a fan of the Cortez design and this new pair does not disappoint. When I initially tried them on they were snug, but they broke in relatively quickly. The fit is true to size. They are comfortable and provide great support. What I like most is the style of the shoe, starting with the shape. To me the shape is a mix between causal and athletic. This makes them easy to pair with many different outfits. The leather is soft and smooth, giving the shoes a refined, sleek look. I also like that the while the main colors are white and black, there’s a pop of blue that adds a special touch. I am enjoying these greatly look forward to getting more in different colors.

Fantastic Nike Cortez Shoes

The Nike Cortez shoes are a great everyday shoe that looks great and feels great. The shoes have a great retro look with the large Nike logos and great upper shoe style. I normally wear shoes that don’t stand out, but these shoes with their bright white leather, shiny Nike logos, and blue trim along the bottom make me proud to wear a shoe that does stand out. I feel instantly younger wearing these cool looking shoes. The fit of the shoes is very comfortable. They are surprisingly roomy in the toe box even though they look slender in this area. I’ve worn them all day, but primarily on days where I’m not on my feet all day. I suspect they wouldn’t be comfortable if I was on my feet all day such as at a theme park or a zoo. I’ve worn them all day, but primarily on days where I’m not on my feet all day. I suspect they wouldn’t be comfortable if I was on my feet all day such as at a theme park or a zoo. I suspect this based on the arch support being slightly less than I would like, and the midsole cushion not being quite as cushiony as I would like for a day completely on my feet on pavement. With that said, these shoes are still very comfortable to wear for your typical day. They are not too hot, which was a concern since they have completely leather uppers. The shoe interior is well cushioned and didn’t create any rubs on my foot. The heel feels slightly loose, but not to the point where it feels like your heel is sliding around or going to get a blister. I felt well supported in these shoes, and the tread seems to have great grip.I’m very pleased with these shoes and would recommend them to anyone looking for a hip new athletic casual shoe to wear. They have great style and also great comfort. The retro tread style reminds me of something my grandparents wore, but in a way that doesn’t make me feel old, but instead trendy. The only thing I would maybe change is the tread pattern. It provides fantastic grip, but it also appears to have great grip for keeping mud in the tread. I will need to make sure I wear these on dry days or pavement to prevent mud for getting stuck in the tread grooves. That is a minor annoyance, and all in all I think these are great shoes. Well done Nike!

Finally back and better

Glad Nike brought these back. Been my favorite since childhood. Seems like they made it better from when it was last out. I got the black and white pair and before the toungue seemed kinda short, barley went past the last lace hole, now it’s about 3/4 and inch longer. Over the Cortez feels better than before. Got my pair and my daughter loves her pair. Always go half size up. (I’m usually a 9, had to get 9.5)

Great look but runs narrow

I really wanted to love these shoes. I love the retro look and how sleek they are. They also stand out with how clean the design is. They were comfortable to wear, however the issue is that they run narrow particularly in the middle. I do not have wide feet nor do I need to buy wide shoes. I could feel the middle of my feet not having stability as the middle sole was too narrow. I could also see the middle of the shoe was protruding out as well. Though they run narrow they still felt comfortable. As many of Nike's shoes, you can see and feel the quality. I have not worn them for an extended period of time so that comfortability factor may change. As I would wear these for mainly fashion, sadly I would not be wearing them much. I wish they did not run narrow as I ... MoreI really wanted to love these shoes. I love the retro look and how sleek they are. They also stand out with how clean the design is. Great look, tight fit and comfort.

Design - hit, with some drawbacks. Simple color scheme but with just the right amount of bright color to give it a unique look and accentuate the shape of the midsole of the shoe. The high curve tip is an interesting design piece that gives me a throwback vibe but I think it's also the flaw of this shoe.Fit - miss. these are size 11M but they fit like size 10, or 10.5 at best. I believe the design of the tip is causing the fit issues because it's pushing up against my toes quite a bit exactly at the point where the curve of the tip connects to the toebox. I could immediately tell the fit is off as soon as I put my foot in.Comfort - miss due to poor fit/design as mentioned above. Great retro shoes

My husband had the opportunity to try out these shoes and really liked them! They are retro and trendy and he received several comments when he wore these to work as well as out to dinner. He really loved the color combinations of these shoes. He wears a size 13 and has a wide foot, so they were a little snug on his food. He also has a high arch and wears podiatrist prescribed orthotics so without these in the shoes, he is not able to wear for extended periods of time. Because his foot is so wide, he cannot put the orthotics in these shoes and be able to get his foot in, so he reserves wearing these for shorter durations of time. So aesthetically they are top tier and no issues. But for someone with a wider foot and potentially a higher arch (not sure how much of the consumer population would fall under this category) they are not first choice, unless a wide version is available ( and potentially a larger size). If a potential consumer does not have these feet issues, these sneakers would be perfect and would be highly recommended.

Nike Cortez = Cool throwback sneakers

These are not the kind of shoes I am normally drawn to, but they caught my eye because I had a very similar pair growing up in the 80's (a long, long time ago). The design didn't disappoint - it gave me flashbacks of the elementary school playground. As for the fit - these are a little tighter than I typically prefer. There isn't much stretch to the material, so even though I feel like I have "normal" width feet these shoes fit snug. They have become more comfortable the move I've worn them - not sure if it is because they are forming to my feet or I'm just getting used to wearing them. If I know I'm going to walk or be on my feet a lot, these are probably not the shoes I'll wear.Overall, the design of the Nike Cortez is cool, so I'd recommend them if you are ... MoreThese are not the kind of shoes I am normally drawn to, but they caught my eye because I had a very similar pair growing up in the 80's (a long, long time ago). However, for me they aren't the most comfortable pair of Nikes I own - if you are looking for shoes to wear during activities you may want to make sure the fit is right for you.

Updated Classic

The classic Cortez. Loving the updated version of these sneakers. The style is the same but they feel different and more comfortable than I remember as a child.I got these to wear in the spring and summer with jeans and they look very stylish. I love that they have that old school look but they’re brand new. I’ve already had multiple people comment on them asking me how I found them. After reading the reviews. I read that the shoes run about half a size too small so I ordered an 11 and I’m normally a 10.5. Glad I did because they fit perfectly.I’m very active and work as a teacher so comfy shoes are very important to me. I’m constantly running around and barely sit during the day but I can confidently say that these are comfortable enough to wear all day.I ... MoreThe classic Cortez.
