..and going strong on my first pair. Like the extra cushion over a more minimal shoe, has kept my foot comfortable on long runs (2+ hour runs) and zero pain from the day I put them on. No holes, the upper has really maintained, it's hardcore. Wear with ankle length socks and my heel stays put. I've had issues with blisters/durability using salomons in the past and glad I switched over because neither with this shoe. I initially tried a size 7 (my usual) but went up a 1/2 size because my toes were a bit squished, maybe if they give you trouble the sizing is your problem. Would recommend, writing this review while ordering another pair from backcountry.

The shoe is nice looking and I enjoy the added features to the 37 that the 36 did not have. However, it is more bulky. While it has more room in the toe box, the shoe turns into a torture device when running downhill. If you are running flats and inclines you are fine. The shoe is responsive and has good cushion. If you are running downhill, you're in for some pain. The shoe juts back and your foot lurches forward ever so slightly bur enough to create pain on the pinky toes that is like no other pain. To be clear, my foot is a 6.5 and I wear a 7 in all my Nike trail shoes. So it is the right size but man it is not fun. I am sad that Nike ruined a perfectly good trail shoe. The heel is also really large and it slips, like the other reviews mentioned. So yes for flat surfaces and inclines but a huge NO if you are doing any slopes or downhill running.

Great Hybrid Shoe for Mixed Terrain Running

I just started trail running so I can’t compare these to other trail running shoes. I got these as a “hybrid” shoe for mixed terrain running. I broke them in with a 10 mile run and suffered NO blisters. The tread feels better on trail terrain versus pavement but they weren’t uncomfortable on pavement. I did notice my feet feeling a little bit heavier towards the end of my run, compared to my regular running shoes (React Infinity Run). The toe box seems wide but the fit is good. I am very happy with the shoes and would give them 5 stars if I had other trail shoes to compare them to.

Great for easy trails!
29 January 2021

Nike makes the best trail shoes, and these are no exception! I typically wear the Terra Kiger for more technical trails and love them, but these are great for smoother, buffed trails and I think they’d do fine for brief sections of paved paths. They have enough cushion for 10+ mile runs but still give enough ground feel for me to feel stable. I ordered these in a size 7 because my usual size 6.5 was sold out and I was worried they’d be too big but they have just enough room for my feet to spread out during runs and I don’t feel like I’m tripping over them. Can’t wait for more colors (currently wearing the seaweed/sage)!

I love these shoes!
24 February 2021

I live in an area with a gambit of running surfaces from trails to concrete so I needed a shoe that could handle it all and I think this might be the one! Good cushion, good grip, not too tight in the toe box. I would say I have average foot width and a few extra pounds on me but my friend got a pair too and she has narrow feet and is very skinny and loves these shoes too. My only (super minor so I didn't remove a star) complaint is that the color is WAY different in person than online. The black/gray color is a dark green in the back. Not a deal breaker but it was surprising so keep that in mind if green clashes with your running gear haha! Overall very happy and loving the fit so far. I size up 1/2 size for Nike in general and my regular Nike size fits like glove.

Outstanding
12 January 2021

These shoes are excellent. This is my third pair of Nikes with the React sole. I have two pairs of the epic react flyknits and now these. I have a neuroma in the ball of my foot and the React technology is far superior to any other shoe on the market for comfort and stability. I’ve tried them all and I always go back to Nike!! Great website, fashion forward colors, outstanding design and technology, fast shipping, and easy and pleasant unboxing.I am a devoted React fan and I hope they never change !

Snug toebox at "knuckle"
27 April 2021

I have enjoyed Nike Pegasus road running shoes in the past so thought I'd try on their trail runners. Unfortunately, it was pretty obvious that these would not work for me. The fabric and stitching at the "knuckle" of my foot does not allow for any give. The toe box is not tall enough for me (not an issue of width). Meanwhile, the heel was not snug enough for me, as my heel was moving around and slipping as I took a few steps in the house.I typically wear 11 in Nike women's and ordered both an 11 and 11.5, the 11.5 fit in terms of length. This style seems to run a little short. I did try them on with thicker socks such as ones I would wear on the trail.

Surprised at how much I liked these!
7 July 2020

I had a feeling I wasn't going to be in to this, but I was rather surprised, starting with taking them out of the box. They look a lot better in person (went for the lighter color). The feel of them reminds me of the hurraches from years ago. Super comfortable and squishy. I'm a 10 in the majority of Nikes I own, and a 10.5 in the Zoom SuperRep. I took the 10 on these. The only problem is that the tongue fits a little weird on my right foot (smaller foot), but hoping that goes away with wear. My intended purpose of these shoes is for function training / HIIT classes outside.

These trainers are sick!!
25 January 2021

Literally the best running trainers I own. I’m an outdoor runner running uphill, downhill and level ground. These are amazing. Today I ran outside after it had snowed yesterday and I didn’t slip at all. They’ve got a good grip underneath and are a solid pair of trainers. Can also really feel my legs working when I run. They’re lightweight and breathable, the sock like cuff at the top keeps any rain water from getting in, and the design is so lush! Would recommend over and over again.

Pro: If you are injured and need an extra cushioned shoe, this may be an option to try. Especially if you heel strike.Con: It is so cushioned it may cause your feet and legs to feel pain. The surfaces I tried these shoes on are concrete, gravel and wet dirt.
