I had some reservations about a zoom binoculars - they are supposed to be not as good as a single distance lens array, but I know the Nikon brand is excellent from my camera lenses. In fact, these binoculars are very sharp, and mostly with a bright clear view of the subject. The only time the image is darker is at the full x24 magnification - which is something I expected to happen - and I tried them on a particularly dull grey wet day when they arrived! They are excellent value, compact and light enough to carry easily and actually focus closer than the stated 'closest focus' distance. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a similar pair.

I BOUGHT A 20 X PAIR OF BINOCULARS BUT I SENT THEM BACK AS THEY WERE FAR TOO BIG AND HEAVY. THE NIKON PAIR ARE AN EXCELLENT COMPROMISE AS THEY ARE POWERFUL AND COMPACT. AS A RESULT THEY CAN BE CARRIED EASILY AND WILL BE USED REGULARLY. THE LARGE PAIR I SENT BACK WERE BETTER QUALITY BUT I WOULD RARELY OF USED THEM

I wanted a compact binocular for birding during the middle of the day, and this one fits the bill. It's bright and easy to spot the birds at low power, and you can zoom in for a closer view at full power. For the money, it does what I want. I do have other non-zoom binoculars for lower light viewing, but it is sometimes to spot the birds with them at high power. For avid and full-time birders, it might be inadequate (I don't know), but for my occasional travels, it's great.

I have had other Nikon binoculars including a zoom one. This one has great color and is very sharp like the others. It is just very lightweight.
Very lightweight binoculars that you can carry around or you can stick them on your belt. They come with a strap for around your neck. Once you see the bird you can zoom in and really identify it. For the price I think it's a great binocular.
Compact and light weight. Image quality is good at 8X and acceptable at 16X. At 24X the image becomes too small and difficult to focus because of shakes.
Nice and compact and lightweight. Good clear image however it does degrade a bit when on maximum zoom. It goes a bit dimmer and needs a slight re-focus. Still good enough to use to identify something though. Obviously also a bit wobbly on maximum zoom. Easy to change the zoom level while looking through them. I am using the 12x-16x the most which is much better than most binoculars you can buy. Would recommend.
Pros: Compact. Easy controls.Very useful addition to standard 8x42s.
Bought these as a gift to replace a lost pair. Used for bird watching as they are very light and compact. Zoom is good although can get a little blurry at full strength. Recipient wouldn't be without them.
Great binoculars for the price range. Really pleasing views even at the higher end of the zoom functionality - depending on how the light is at that far away location!
