Great camera, great price. I was pleased to see the camera came in its original box with almost all its original accessories. The only thing missing was the lens cap strap. I had another, and my P500 decided to give up the ghost, so I shopped around and found your store. Worked just as expected out of the box. Thank you.

Generally good, but could use a few fixes

I purchased a refurbished B 700 from Adorama. The service was great as usual, and the product was just like new. This camera will be used primarily from canoes, and kayaks, where long zoom point and shoots are a lot easier than messing about changing lenses on an slr. The camera is nice, light weight, and the zoom seems very good. I don't like the view finder very well. It is small, and dark and not as easy to use as the one on the old Canon this is replacing. I also do not care for the charging system. By not providing a free standing charger, Nikon makes it necessary to load each battery into the camera for charging. This means that the camera has to be put out of service and used like a rather expensive charging dock. Also one primary reason for the purchase to the camera was that it has a view finder. There are only a few small cameras that have one and they are necessary shooting in full sun.

I love this Camera

The B700 camera is easy to use, has tons of features and feels good in hand. Excellent image quality in daylight. Most bridge cameras have small censors and photo quality suffers in low light, but the B700 still does a decent job if you keep that in mind. Excellent zoom and great resolution. One of my favorite cameras.

Item appears to be used

Item appears to be used. Description makes seem as new but the item was in the box , however it did not have any protective tape on either lens. The box looks like it has been opened and closed many times. There was no tape on the box to indicate a new item. There was no warranty card, user guide has a pen mark, user guide is dog earred. No factory seal and the lens cover was placed on as someone had messed with it. I have a picture attached of a unboxing also where there is protective seal on the face of the camera this did not come with that on. I called customer service in which they called these people selling this they did not answer. So now I have to wait for them to email me back as to why it appears they sent me a used camera 48 hours.

My new go-to

Until I bought this camera, I'd never owned a Nikon. I've been a life-long Olympus guy, but made the reluctant move to Canon when digital became too good not to do so. I bought a B700 for one reason: it kept coming up as highly-rated for birding photography. When I finally looked into it, I was intrigued that the zoom seemed to be as good as advertised, and the refurbished price was too good to pass up. I used it heavily on a two-week trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in August, 2017, including points on the way to and from, and the total solar eclipse. I shot stills and videos. It performed far beyond my expectations. The battery has excellent life. My two real complaints are 1) the software that transfers shots from the camera to the computer is awkward, at first, but I figured it out with some practice; 2) the shot rate is very slow: 2-3 seconds between shots. For most purposes, this is not a major issue, but if you are planning to do a lot of rapid-fire photography, this camera is not the one. I have attached five shots, grabbed at random, from our trip, to give you some idea of what this camera can do. Hope this helps.

Really good travel cam

I really like that this camera can be shot in RAW. I got it for a UK trip I will be taking in a few months. I didn't want to risk my gear on that trip and need time to learn the operations on the camera before going. The quality of the pictures produced are pretty good so far. It's light weight will be a significant advantage when lugging it around constantly for a couple weeks. I am still learning of its capabilities but it seems a good option for the trip. The extreme zoom takes a lot of prep to get sharp pics. The worst part of that is that there is no way to delay shutter release to deal with the camera shake. Tripod is helpful but still pressing the shutter release results in some movement. The worst part of that is that there is no way to delay shutter release to deal with the camera shake. Tripod is helpful but still pressing the shutter release results in some movement. This can be dealt with thru the remote photo feature through snap bridge but it's a slow and annoying app. I wish there were other remote trigger options. I also really miss the back button focus option.I also wish it could remotely command a Nikon flash. There are at least two flashes that are reported to work with it (a Yongnuo 560 IV and a LumoPro LP 180) but since its a Nikon you'd think they'd work with Nikon flashes. I guess its not an issue for the trip since I wont take any flashes anyway. As mentioned by others the lack of a separate battery charger is disappointing. The need to plug in the camera to charge the battery is annoying. I did purchase a 3rd party set of batteries and charger and hope that will work ok.

Sooooo disappointed in this camera
3 August 2020

I owned an older Coolpix L820 camera for years which I loved! It wasnt perfect, but it was fun and user friendly. I took thousands of photos. After it wore out, I was excited to upgrade to this version a few months ago. I have tried to like it, but I absolutely hate it! It’s difficult to find the modes you need and although there is a moon mode (I take a lot of moon pics!) it will NOT click/capture a picture. Why is there a timer defaulted for a moon pic anyways? You can turn it off manually but only for ONE pic. Most of the time it just wont take a pic at all, and today the camera froze up in moon mode with the lens extended. Since it wouldnt even shut off, I had to take the battery out while standing outside in the dark. I’m already watching for sales of the Canon ... MoreI owned an older Coolpix L820 camera for years which I loved! It wasnt perfect, but it was fun and user friendly. I took thousands of photos. I had just figured since the prior version of this model was so great, this one would be too. The Snapbridge is convenient for sending pics straight to your phone, but thats really the only plus. Sorry Nikon. I’d give it zero stars. This review made me give it at least one. Hope you scrap this model totally.

They don’t make them like they used to
29 November 2020

I’ve used 2 models of the Nikon Coolpix for just over 5 years. However unfortunately the Nikon service centre no longer had the parts so the time came to buy a new one.I purchased this latest model however soon realised it no longer came with the view finder or reversible digital screen despite the similar price tag.Ended up exchanging it for a Canon EOS M50. A bit more expensive & unfortunately doesn’t have the zoom capacity as the Nikon but comes with the other features & a great mobile app - Canon camera connect. If Nikon ever decide to reinclude the viewfinder & reversible screen I’d definitely switch back to this model as it was a great camera!

good camera for birding
14 May 2018

I bought this Nikon B700 superzoom camera for birding. I'm using it to replace a Nikon Coolpix S8200 "pocket" camera. I had a chance to test it out yesterday and am very pleased with the performance in comparison to the S8200. However, I'll continue to use the S8200 for vacation photos because of it's convenience for travel. I'm an amateur birder and the B700 is wonderful for identification and documentation of birds at a distance, which is where they usually are. The images provide very good resolution at 12x16 inch size. Performance in low light is better than I expected but not what could be obtained with a much more expensive camera and lens, not to mention a heavier weight. I'm happy with this purchase and recommend it for its superzoom capability, ease of use ... MoreI bought this Nikon B700 superzoom camera for birding.
