Have been using Ninja blenders for years (5 different blenders) and have always loved except for having to replace the blades every year which is almost half the cost of a new one with product cost and shipping.Was very happy with this one until having to replace the blades every 6-7 months. Just ordered my third replacement that cost over $40. Complete new unit is on sale for little over double. Always felt they were overcharging for replacement blades especially when the quality is going downhill and needing to replace every 6-7 mos.Would not recommend. Will not buy any more blades for this one and not sure I will purchase Ninja again since high replacement cost of blades coupled with the quality that seems to be going down.

I bought this almost 2 yrs ago. After almost a year, the motor started smoking, and Ninja replaced it. I purchased a new blade (which they say to do every SIX months?!), and here we are just under a year later and the motor has started smoking again. There has been no misuse, no damage, and no out of the ordinary usage. Then I looked this up to replace it again and found there’s also a PROP65 warning on this and many other Ninja kitchen products. So BPA-free means a lot less when there’s still a cancer causing agent in the product. I wanted to love this, but I keep coming up disappointed and now also concerned due to the warning (note: the warning isn’t on this site, it was on this product on Target’s site). Do better, Ninja.

This unit seems more powerful than another brand we’ve used for a long time but the design of the gasket that goes around the blade is completely unsanitary. There are no directions for cleaning it. After looking online you essentially have to pry it out with a crochet hook and scrub each time. If you're melting tabs, you are not using the machine in the correct manner, despite the fact you may have even taken the time to RTFM. I think this was an interesting decision on the part of the manufacturer, or perhaps it's a genuine oversight. If a manufacturing error resulted in higher sales of replacement accessories, would you correct it? Compared to the Nutribullet, this thing rocks! The 1200W makes a huge difference over 900W and does not struggle with much at all. It has lots of different options and the serving size is perfect, compared to a full-sized blender where it is way too easy to make too much smoothie! Compared to the Nutribullet which has very dull blades (you can literally squeeze them), the Ninja blades are very sharp so this also makes a notable difference. Unlike the Nutribullet, the screw threads are in the inside, so you can drink out of the cup on flat cup rather than threads. The cups also feel very strong and sturdy compared to the Nutribullet cups. The smoothie caps are also very nice and very high quality. The Ninja blender even comes with a very nice guide and 15 recipes which is a very nice touch! Some people complain that it is loud, but I don't know what they expect out of a blender that makes more than 1.5 horsepower. Since it is so strong, you don't have to blend as long so that is a plus. Overall, this blender went above and beyond with every single part of it and didn't miss any small details either. I had a Nutribullet for three years, before this model came available, but I am so glad I took the step to make the upgrade. Well worth every penny.
We love our Ninja smoothie blender. But it drives me crazy when people write bad reviews and give 1 star like me444444444 and don’t use common sense or read directions. He complained about the container being too small then having “2 big containers to bring your smoothies with you”. Really? The smaller one with the manual twist bottom is for smoothie bowls, you don’t add as much liquid so you twist the bottom (top when it’s inverted) to keep the frozen fruit moving. The larger containers are to MAKE your smoothies in, not just take them along. You use more liquid, hence the larger containers. Come on people, common sense, use it or at least read the directions. Don’t just give bad reviews for your own misunderstandings!!!!!

Slightly hard to clean the blades, but doable if you wash it in warm soapy water right after using it. I've only made smoothies every morning since I purchased it in July of 2024. Very disapppointed with the quality of this product and the short return window. I had had one of the larger Ninja units previously and loved it, but I didn't need all the features it provided. So this model seemed perfect from a feature standpoint. Unfortunately the build quality is poor. The blade unit does not nicely snap into the base unit, so it is difficult to know if it is engaged or not. The seal between the blade unit and cup itself is leaking right off the bat into the base causing quite a mess. When I finally decided that I was going to return this unit for a larger model the return window had already closed. I was surprised and disappointed that it was only a 14 day return window, leaving me with a pile of junk.
