As far as the girth goes if you do not trust me then I have a few pics below with a ruler so you can get a feel for whether you have the space required. While unboxing it seemed like I kept unwrapping things but this was good because Ninja provides you with all of the accessories that you will need to take full advantage of all of the cooking methods available. Once you have everything unwrapped and slid inside onto the shelves you are instructed to do a 20 min cook to sorta "sterilize" all of the pans and racks that were provided at I think 425* which was how I discovered how hot the outside of the unit will get soo be careful. The oven comes with two wire racks, air frying basket, two baking sheets, and a 2 piece roasting tray. The Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer and Countertop Oven has a total of 10 possible functions that include baking, roasting, toasting, dehydrating, as well as air frying. I have used the oven several times in the past week but I have not been able to experiment with all of the possible functions. I have been able to use the roasting, air fryer & baking functions and all performed well. When selecting a function the oven will give you a preset to start off with however you can make adjustments as needed depending on your needs. I have done the basics like making toast & morning bagels & everything came out fine. Over the weekend I used the unit to air fry some snacks while watching a few games including some small wings and cheese sticks, the wings I had to cook longer than what the preset was because they were not to that crispy point like I wanted them to be, the cheese sticks came out great and were basically perfect. One evening I decided to roast a few lobster tails and in less than 5-6 mins they were perfectly done & exactly how I like them without drying the tails out.Soo far I have been pleased with everything I can do with the oven and have enjoyed having it as a new tool in the kitchen however I have had to relegate other kitchen accessories back inside the cabinets to make room for the oven which I'm not the happiest about but whadaya gonna do.

The Ninja Prestige Smart XL is a powerful multi-mode oven that offers plenty of space to cook all sorts of meals. It features four rack levels, from which, depending on the meal, the device allows you to choose only one or two racks for either one- or two-level cooking. I haven’t tested, but I guess you could use the four racks at once to cook. I’ve tried both levels of cooking, and so far, I’ve had better experiences with one-level cooking when compared to two-level cooking. I haven’t tested, but I guess you could use the four racks at once to cook. I’ve tried both levels of cooking, and so far, I’ve had better experiences with one-level cooking when compared to two-level cooking. For one level cooking, toasts and bagels have come out toasted/cooked to perfection, no complaints. We’ve also used one level cooking for reheating with no issues. Unfortunately, I haven’t had great results when using the two-level cooking; for instance when cooking chicken wings and fried potatoes, the fries placed on the top tray came out very dry with some not fully cooked, and the chicken wings placed at the bottom tray came out well cooked, but not as crispy as we would have liked it. It looks like I still need to do more experimentation with temperatures and cooking times and also on how much of the elements I put in the trays and baskets, to get the perfect meal. The device comes with a thermometer that can help you cook your different meats to perfection. You can also customize the settings to your preferences, and you can even cook complete meals in the Ninja Prestige SmartXL, something similar to what the Ninja Combi provides. I haven’t tried all the cooking modes and settings; however, so far, this makes a great countertop multi cooker/oven.The only downside I’ve found is that when you decide to do a two-level cooking, you do need to set it manually on the device. If you forget, then you’ll be cooking at the one-level setting, until you realize your mistake by looking at the front control panel (if you are the kind of distracted individual, you won’t even notice your mistake.)The “Tips, recipes and cooking charts” booklet that comes with the device gives you all you need to figure out what to do, how many trays to use, to cook your different meals (it even gives you some recipes to follow.)- Pros: spacious, four rack levels, one or two-level cooking, predefined cooking modes, configurable settings.- Cons: no two-level autodetect cooking.>> Air FryerWe decided to give the Ninja Prestige SmartXL a chance to air-fry chicken wings and potatoes. So, following the suggestions (or directions) in the “tips” booklet, we went for a two-level cooking. I placed the potato slices on the top air fry basket, and the chicken wings on the bottom sheet pan (over a wire rack), then selected Air Fry cooking mode, leaving all the default settings as suggested, but making sure I pressed the two-level cooking setting on the front panel. After 20 minutes, we noticed that still there was some more cooking to do, so we increased the time and the temperature. Soon after, about 15 minutes, we got perfectly cooked chicken wings, but without any crispiness on them; they were well cooked but no “fried” signs could be seen on them, nevertheless the taste was great (my own secret recipe.) The story with the fries was very different, I am not sure if we cut them too thick or placed too many of them in the basket, but several came out not cooked, while others were a little burnt, and basically all of them were hard on the outside, like something dehydrated the outside of the potato pieces but left most of the inside moist. Definitely, I need to see what is going on here, so I need to do more experimentation, as I would have expected for a different result.Note: now that I am re-reading the “tips” booklet that came with the device, I noticed that it mentions not to get the different chicken wing pieces to crowd each other, and I think I might have put too many chicken wings together for my first not-so-great air fried chicken wings.>> ToastI assume that toasting bread is one of the most common things done in any household. This machine can toast your bread to perfection (of course as long as you’ve chosen the right settings for how dark/light you want your toast to be.) It has room to up to 9 regular sliced bread pieces, so multiple toasts at once for the whole family. According to the booklet, only one-level cooking is allowed for toasting, so you have to place the wire rack on level 3 with your bread slices on it and proceed to toast them. I wonder if I could have two-level cooking for toasting, use level 3 with the basket and level 2 with the sheet pan, and bread slices distributed among them (well, with 9 slices capacity, perhaps I don’t even need to try this.) One thing I noticed is that there is a lot of condensation after toasting, so a good idea is to open the oven once all is done.>> DehydrationAt home, we use dehydrators for different things, from mushrooms to veggies, so it came handy to have the Ninja Prestige SmartXL readily available for some of our dehydration needs. So far, the machine has done a decent job at dehydrating. Of course, I won’t be dehydrating mushrooms in this oven due to the spores, but I plan on using it on different foods, to preserve and to have snacks readily available. For one of my rehydration attempts, I chose to dehydrate apples in a two-level cooking style, the wire basket at the top on level 4 and the sheet pan (on top of the wire rack) at the bottom on level 2. I placed the same amount of apple slices on both racks. I selected Dehydration from the cooking modes, and didn’t change the default settings for temperature and time. As expected (as I expected based on previous attempts), the results were not uniform, the top wired basket pieces dried almost perfectly while the bottom sheet pan ones still needed more time. So, I moved the bottom apple pieces to the top wire basket tray and the top apple pieces to the bottom tray, and then continued the dehydration for some more time. At the end, the results were fine, albeit some manual intervention to get the pieces to dehydrate uniformly. I might place aluminum foil over the sheet pan next time, because a couple of pieces of apple stuck strongly to the sheet pan surface and I had to rub them to get them off the pan.

The interior capacity is 2.67 cubic feet and roomy enough for bakeware like my 12” pizza tray, 5 Qt Dutch oven, and vintage 8-piece cupcake tray. There are ten modes that you can cycle through using the function +/- keys: whole roast, air roast, air fry, pizza, bake, dehydrate, broil, toast, bagel, and reheat. When the oven door is opened, the interior light automatically turns on and turns off again when the door is closed. Each mode has its own settings that persist in subsequent uses, so if I bake a batch of cookies at 350°F for 25 minutes, the next time I select that mode those will be the settings that appear. The different modes also have different time and temperature ranges they can be set to, for example, broil can be set to Hi or Lo for a maximum of 30 minutes while dehydrate can be set from 85-200°F up to 24 hours. The max temperature in roast, bake, pizza, reheat, and air fry modes is 450°F, and the timer can be set from 1 minute up to 4 hours. The display will change to slices (1-9) and shade (1-7) for toast and bagel modes. The appliance is not internet connected, and there is no smartphone app component. The feature that makes this appliance “smart” is the integrated temperature probe with built-in presets for your preferred doneness of various proteins like beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Beef mode can also be used for cooking lamb. The doneness settings are based on temperature, for example, 120°F for rare beef/lamb, 120°F medium rare fish, 150°F medium well pork, and 165°F for well done chicken. The probe, which plugs into the underside of the handle, can be used for broil, bake, air fry, and either of the roast modes. If you prefer to manually set your target temperature, you can do that as well and choose from 100 to 200°F in 5° increments. There are 4 labeled rack positions in the machine and each mode will indicate the optimal position on the display. Pressing the 2-level button will display 2 suggested rack positions for multi-level cooking. These recommendations are also printed in the full-color user guide that has a handful of tasty looking recipes. Two-level cooking is available in all modes except broil, toast, bagel, and reheat. When cooking with two levels, the upper rack is nearly always the air fry basket in order to promote airflow while the roast tray or sheet pan should be used on the lower rack to catch drippings. Using the roast tray can also help minimize smoking with greasy or oily foods and marinades.I used the probe to roast a whole 5 lb chicken packed in a salt shell, and it took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. The chicken came out juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender, and when I used my instant read thermometer, I saw that it had faithfully reached its target temperature. I didn’t have to flip or rotate it either because there weren’t any hot zones or uneven cooking thanks to the powerful fan circulating the hot air around the food at all times. Pizza and roasted vegetables also came out great in their respective modes, and the air fry feature produced crispy, crunchy results with frozen fried foods like French fries and popcorn shrimp. I wouldn’t say that the device cooks significantly faster than normal, though perhaps I’ve simply become accustomed to cooking in convection ovens versus a traditional oven.Preheating happens super quickly in about 90 seconds, so I usually place the food in the oven before pressing start, since the countdown starts right away after the unit is done preheating. Just be careful to put glass bakeware in after preheating as it may experience thermal shock with such a fast warm up time. Note that the fan is pretty loud and sounds like a plane taking off; you may also hear internal vibrations and rattling from the machine during use. If using the probe, you won't know how long you have left as there is no countdown timer, however, you can see the current and target temperature of the probe and once the probe reaches the target, the unit shuts off, beeps several times, and flashes “Cook End” on the display. If you don't take your food out promptly, it will beep again every several minutes until you do.Overall, this countertop convection oven air fryer does a great job cooking a variety of foods efficiently and evenly. It has a lot of space inside and can fit large roasts, whole chickens, and two 12” pizzas at once. I love the integrated temperature probe with preset doneness selections that take the guesswork out of cooking meats. This feature mostly caters to folks that cook a lot of animal protein, but can be used for other foods via manual settings. All parts are easily removed for cleaning, though I find that keeping the interior clean requires wiping it down thoroughly after each use to prevent burned on build up. The controls and display on the handle are a clever space saver and though the text is tiny, the LED backlighting makes the settings easy to read, even in the dark.

I recently added the Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer & Countertop Oven + Pro Cook to my kitchen, and it blends perfectly with my other stainless steel appliances. The sleek, modern look of the stainless steel exterior is not only visually appealing but gives a professional feel to the kitchen setup. It’s a substantial appliance, yet it doesn’t take up too much counter space, and I love how it enhances the overall vibe of my kitchen. This product comes with some fantastic accessories: the air fry basket, 2 sheet pans, 2 wire racks, a removable crumb tray, a roast tray, and even a pro cook thermometer that takes all the guesswork out of cooking meats. The pizzas came out crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the sweet potato fries had that perfect golden crunch, and the cookies? Absolutely delicious. The versatility of this thing is incredible. Whether it’s salmon, roasted vegetables, or anything in between, the Ninja delivers perfect results every time. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to clean up. After cooking, the crumb tray and accessories are a breeze to remove and wipe down. It's low maintenance for the high-quality meals it delivers.I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving, as this will be my secret weapon in the kitchen. I can’t wait to test out a turkey in it! The fact that you can use this for anything you’d normally bake in an oven—and more—is a game changer.Overall, I highly recommend this air fryer and countertop oven for anyone looking to save time in the kitchen and cook meals in a healthier way without sacrificing taste. It’s a must-have!
This Ninja smart cooker is an air fryer, a convection oven and lots more; all in one. It is large enough to cook family sized meals or it can be used to cook for one. It has the unique ability to cook on two levels or just one level to achieve efficiency no matter how large a meal is planned. This item is packed very well and indeed the unit was in perfect shape. However, you do need to pay attention to the packaging inside and around the oven to ensure all plastic and cardboard is removed.Another innovation that is important to understand up front is that this device does surround cooking in a real sense not just by utilizing the convection fan. It has heating elements top and bottom but also has a ring of heat-source around the rear fan. The proof is in how well an actual meal is cooked so I did try some recipes to determine if food was delicious, would cook in a reasonable amount of time and also the cleaning perspective. All of these tests showed this was an outstanding product. There are very nice accessories and be aware there are four slots for sliding in the various racks, pans and trays. You are also supplied a smart thermometer which can be used in the cooking if you wish. The thermometer allows you to see the temperature but also it will halt the cooking when the desired temperature is reached - another smart feature. By the way, the jack to attach the thermometer is located on the underside of the door handle. You should try the different functions that run from air frying to dehydration. Once powered on, you can press the ‘Function’ button to run through the many cooking options. You get two wire racks, an air fry basket and a non-smoke and non-stick roasting pan. A nice item is also a crumb tray that goes on the bottom to ensure cleanup will be easy.Just for some reference this unit (inside) is about 10 inches deep by 14 inches wide by 8 inches high. The outside dimensions are compact and the unit sits nicely on my countertop. It was fun to figure out the 'multiple cooking process', but this is a smart cooker so basically it will help you to do the correct thing. An example might be if you have a big chicken to roast you’d enter ‘Whole Roast’ and it will tell you to put it in the lowest (or tray-1) position. If you’d like to also air fry some vegetables, you would hit 2nd function. It will tell you that you’d have to put the next tray of food in level-4 (the top rack). I think that gives you some intro into the power of this unit to make a complete meal for you. Also if you are wondering, yes you can air fry two trays of food at the same time using two different racks. Tip of the cap to the designers of this device, they are very smart. You do get an excellent recipe book that is customized for this cooker, everything from toast to prime rib, to sweet potato casserole to even some Red Velvet cookies that I want to try soon. The thermometer works accurately as well. Once you plug the thermometer into the device you can cook by temperature instead of time. You should ensure you put the thermometer in horizontally and into the thickest part of the meat. The directions are a little unclear in this area regarding how to put the thermometer into the cooker. However, you simply place the meat with the thermometer into the oven and close the door over the thin cable of the thermometer. It's small enough to not disrupt the door seal. Most important is how delicious the food was. The roasted chicken I made was mouth-watering great; I just used salt, pepper, garlic powder and EVOO fantastic. I cooked some sliced zucchini on the uppermost rack at the same time as my chicken. The lengthwise strips of zucchini were wonderful (used the same spices as for the chicken plus some flour). The unit does have a light to view what’s cooking and also the light comes on when you open the door.I highly recommend this super cooking machine with all its smarts and multiple heating elements.
This Ninja Prestige Smart XL Air Fryer and Countertop Oven + Pro Cook is a great addition to my kitchen space and our family needs. The kitchen appliance that helps to consolidate so many different functions into a handy dandy countertop design. Our household relies heavily on air fryer usage for multiple meals throughout the day and this has been the main feature we continually use, and it's performed quite well for french fries, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, and tater tots for example. This allows for so many various uses and functions such as dehydration, air frying, roasting, broiling, baking, toasting, and reheating. We have eliminated our previous appliances such as an air fryer, toaster oven, and dehydrator, in favor of using this one Ninja Prestige Countertop Oven. Less appliances and less clutter is a good thing for our household and smaller kitchen size. This appliance simply plugs into a wall outlet with 120V output and operates at 1800 watts. It's a semi bulky appliance and requires a sturdy counter or kitchen island since it weighs in at about 33.75 pounds. I really like the stainless steel look and the integrated buttons/display which are built into the handle. The convection oven is what makes this such a good appliance for an even cook throughout. The Smart Surround Convection helps to distribute that desired temperature to give your food item the proper all around cook or crisp, which helps to avoid hot spots or uneven cooking. We've been making morning breakfast foods such as toast, bagels, english muffins and they've all been turning out just right for our desired look and taste. There are a total of 10-in-1 functionality for different cooking programs as mentioned earlier. Just the other day we made a small 9x9 pan of brownies which baked to perfection within this Ninja Oven. We still utilize our home oven/range for larger cooking, but the Ninja Oven makes it a great addition for when we have big meals for parties. Recently we were baking large pizzas in the home oven, while also making a lamb roast in our Ninja Oven and utilizing the Pro Cook system. This allowed us to choose our desired level of doneness and the thermometer allows for continuous temperature monitoring of the food. I feel the high powered convection in this Ninja Oven allows for faster cooking time and more evenly cooked meats. You can cook on 2 levels in this Ninja Oven and keep the food from intermingling with one another. No extra rotation of food or shaking of a basket is needed, due to the air flow of the convection oven.Ninja did a great job with providing multiple accessories such as a pro cook thermometer which connects into your food and the handle of the Ninja Oven. There is an air fry basket, roast tray, 2 sheet pans, 2 wire racks. Everything you need to get this up and running and use right out of the box.I think it's been a very short learning curve for both myself and my wife. The Ninja Oven has a nice upscale design and has a bold look while it sits on the countertop. Overall it offers a lot of functionality and use for various food creations. I'm able to eat healthier by roasting and air frying my foods without using excess oils and damaging my wellness. This is one of the best Ninja appliances I've come across since it's helped me to cook better and shorten my cooking time. Will be continually experimenting with new foods in the future such as making my own roasted whole chicken and items such as baking a pie in this Ninja Oven.
I'm not too competent when it comes to the kitchen so anything that'll help me cook food more easily/quicker, is a nice bonus for me. This includes a couple different trays depending on the food you're cooking, so you won't need to worry about bringing the right pan/tray or anything. With my older air fryer, I liked to cook wings in there but since it was circular, only a few would fit in it at any given time. With the trays in this fryer, I can add more and spread them out evenly for that perfect cook. Pizzas came out quite nice as well. The controls are all on the handle of the door which makes for easy adjustment to time/temp cooking as well as using any of the preset settings enabled for this oven. Clean up on this is fairly easy since the bottom liner is removable. The different trays are also easy to clean as well.I'm REALLY interested in trying to cook a whole chicken so that's the next thing to-do with this oven. Overall, really impressed how well this thing cooks, how versatile it is and its relatively small size which makes it great for an apartment or smaller kitchen.
This is the king of the jungle when it comes to countertop cooking devices. If your in the market for one of these you know that the Ninja name precedes itself with already being what you look at first and being a prior Ninja owner of all sorts, this one improves on absolutely everything possible! Some stand out features you should know about are, this is LARGE inside and has two heating zones that you can fully control even without being a split compartment system and yes, it actually works really good. Ive cooked two different pizzas at once (one thick one thin and both came out perfect). Ive also done a trey of French fries up top and air fry basket of chicken tenders on the bottom for my kids and they both come out perfectly in less than half the time of my normal oven without any of that hassle or gas smell. The controls are well laid out on the handle itself with clear markings and everything lights up without even looking like a screen when off. Setting the temp and time along with mode and everything is extremely easy and it even tells you what rack to cook on the screen itself for best results. If you dont know which one the included book goes over a ton of stuff to help you or they have a link to their YouTube which also goes over a lot of things. It blends into your kitchen looks well, especially with the stainless steel. There is 10 cooking functions such as air fry, whole roast, air roast, bake, dehydrate, pizza, broil, toast, bagel and reheat. I have used over half of these already and can tell you they do what they're meant to do perfectly and even better than in models past. Some of my favorite is left over pizza or dinner dishes you just set it to reheat and it goes for 10 mins and comes out perfectly and adds a texture and flavor to whatever it is that literally makes your microwave obsolete (think crisp and or evenly cooked instead of soggy hotspot mess you get with microwave). It even has a light inside thats bright enough to see everything in darkness. What differentiates this unit having the pro cook from the lesser models is the fact that it has a built-in thermometer to monitor internal doneness of your food so you'll never under or overcook food again and keep it exactly how you want it. Personally I use this for chicken and steaks. Essentially you can set the temperature that you want the internal meat to achieve and it will cook exactly to that temperature and turn itself off which really makes things insanely easy.Honestly as I said ive had ninja stuff for years now and I always come to love them. After you get through the learning curve of doing your favorite foods and how you like to cook them up this turns into the absolute staple of your kitchen quick. I use it everyday multiple times a day and it makes my oven feel like a dinosaur in comparison because you can just cook every item that needs heating so much better, even toast lol.
I have been in the market for a good countertop oven and air fryer for some time and decided to try this combo that was offered by Ninja. I am so glad I went with this product! Right out of the box I could tell this was made well as it offered multiple trays to use when cooking. The door of the oven is strong , closes well and durable that I feel will last for some time. Setup / Install was very easy , just make sure you remove all the hidden tape and packaging inside the over. The instruction book is very detailed with a great "cheat sheet" towards the back. I recommend reviewing the book even for those who are familiar with countertop ovens as this product offers a ton of features. I recommend reviewing the book even for those who are familiar with countertop ovens as this product offers a ton of features. Speaking of features this thing can Air Fry, Air Roast, Broil, Bake, Norm Roast, Pizza, Toast, Bagel, Reheat and dehydrate. I got to experience the Air Fry, Broil, Bake, Pizza, Toast and Reheat however not the roast setting yet. Overall each of these features work great and I recommend to use the pre-programmed setting instead of modifying it to package settings. My brother tried to make frozen pizza , did not go with the programmed settings, went with the pizza package settings and slightly burned the pizza. The only issue I have found is that after the pre-heating it starts the timer immediately not allowing time to place the food in there. So I recommend standing near the oven during pre-heat so you dont miss the timer start. If the timer does start its not a big worry as it is very easy to reset the timer. The roast feature this has also comes with a "pro cook thermometer" its wired and can check temp throughout the cooking. The really cool feature is that it uses a "pro cook" feature that monitors the roast to get the perfect regulated temp. Unfortuantely I have not tried cooking a roast however looking forward to trying this feature out!Overall this Ninja Air Fyer / Countertop Oven is amazing! It comes packed with features and made very well. I strongly recommend this product.

To me that means it's intuitive. It also has lights with recommendations on which one of the four rack positions to use, it takes any confusion out of it.Because it has four rack levels it can cook on two racks at the same time. This model comes with two rack trays, two sheet pans, one roast tray (that goes on top of any of the two pans), and an air-frying tray that can also be used for dehydrating, and also a built-in thermometer. The thermometer plugs into the bottom of the handle and comes with its own magnetic holder when storing away. We keep it on one side of the oven.Ninja also offers additional accessories for this oven like additional trays and pan, an additional mesh dehydrating pan, ceramic pan, cutting board (customized to store on top of the oven) and molds.Because it has a very powerful convection fan, it can also 'air fry', for which it recommends using non-stick oil spray. The dehydrating mode works by combining heat with air circulation, which can dry some fruits or vegetables in about 6 hours. While the glass can get very hot (it's not a double-glass), the handle here the controls are remains cool to the touch.Overall it's a great machine that one can tell it was very well thought of. Comes with good amount of accessories and even some recipes to try out. Likely the largest convection fan in a unit of this type. One caveat is that it can be hard to clean when air frying because it doesn't use a deep basket like other models, any splashes end up on the sides, door or fan, so we use it mostly as an oven and we keep a dedicated air fryer (Also from Ninja).
