It's just such a good game for... well, parties! Most of the minigames are good and require good skills, and the boards are very creative and different from one to another!Minor complaints:Only 5 boards (all old Mario Party games had at least 6, but at least it's better than having only 4 in Super Mario Party)Only up to 4 PlayersAnimations and cutscenes take too long, even if you skip them partially. But overall, aside from these minor complaints, this is a fantastic party game!

I have my grandson over almost every day. I am not a proficient game player. So we struggle finding a game we can play together where we both can enjoy it. Some minigames are hard and he does good on them. But there are some games that I can play and win. The basic game is just the luck of rolling dice and choosing which way to go. After each round, everyone gets to play a minigame. Some he wins but when I can win some of them he can't, he is just as happy for me as I am for him. And I have to say that I think the graphics are pretty good.

PRO: Great to have new levels to play with in the Mario Party-Verse, and some are truly tricky REQUIRING the full 2-hour+ play through (if you want the full experience). Like seeing new characters and new mini-games. Being able to play just the mini-games themselves is a great feature.CON: should include things from the previous Mario Party, like companions, custom dice, and unlockable characters. The Toad Store & Encyclopedia aspects are confusing at best.

Got Mario Party for my family to enjoy while I was still working over the road. Things changed and I was able to enjoy the game too. Even my 4 yr and 5 yr old at the time enjoyed the game once everything was explained to them. The controls were easy to navigate as an adult; and once the kiddos understood which controls to use, they no longer needed help, except for reading. This game had so many family oriented games and other challenging activities too. You can someone play up to 4 players; and don’t worry if there’s only 1 or 2. The game will choose the remaining CPU characters.
Mario Superstars pays homage to essentially the entire series of Mario Party games. Offering levels from N64, GameCube, and Wii. The game is a blast to play with up to four players on the same Switch console, with some online play as well. My only gripe is that the game doesn't seem to have a team play option on the main game boards, so you'll have to play free for all instead. It's a minor problem, and since the game is styled in classic Nintendo fashion, with hours of fun mini games, I give it 5 out of 5. If you like Mario Party, you should have this one in your library.
This game was fun!! However, we were expecting it to be like the first version of Mario Party for Switch. It’s definitely not nearly as cool, there are less extras, you can’t play the same partner/team boards… we have much more fun on the original game. I actually seem to end up playing this newer Superstars version myself just to make sense of the $60 price point.Definitely not as good. Fun, yes. I like other mario games much more. I got the 2 in 1 Mario world and bowsers fury. That was cheaper and way more fun!
I personally don't like that you have to pick "Offline, Local or Online" play before the main title screen as having to switch between them means having to watch the title animation and have to interact with the title screen (R+L). Swapping these around so the title screen appears first, then select which kind of play you want means that backing out of the plaza lets to switch between different play modes.Games feel very long; The times shown for rounds when selecting a map are misleading as games can last two or three times the amount. Animations (Walking, banners such as round start and after landing on a special space) feel too long than they should be, even just making them shorter by a little can add up to saving a lot of time. I also feel like they there ... MoreI personally don't like that you have to pick "Offline, Local or Online" play before the main title screen as having to switch between them means having to watch the title animation and have to interact with the title screen (R+L). I also feel like they there should be an option for the player whose turn it is to be able to skip walking until they hit something interactable (like the coin bank) or finish their dice roll.AI seem easy even on Master difficulty on the board (like using a 1-10 item to get enough spaces to grab a star, but to then land on a bowser space). However AI has occasionally done near-impossible movements and such on the minigames, I'm talking borderline frame perfect. One more thing: I would like to see the ability to queue into random online games with a party of friends, (maybe a max of 1 so it doesnt turn into a 3v1); could be improved on so you can play 2v2 online?
If you've been waiting for a Mario Party game in the vein of the classics without all the gimmicks (e.g., no moving around the board on a shared vehicle, no "allies", no grid-based boards, etc.), Mario Party Superstars is for you. While it only has five boards, which are all from Mario Party 1, 2, and 3, they are some of the most fun and memorable boards (Peach's Birthday Cake and Horror Land are standouts). It has countless minigames from Mario Party 1 through 10, and you will not find yourself repeating the same minigame two or three times in one game like in Super Mario Party. However, if your Internet is poor or your WiFi signal is spotty, you may want to utilize a wired LAN connection to your Switch (USB-to-LAN adapter required for older Switch models). The game could use more extras and customizations (e.g., more boards, more music choices within the boards, costumes, more characters), but overall, it is a return to form for Mario Party. Let's hope Nintendo keeps up the great work in future iterations.
We really love the interchangeable amount of time you can chose to play the main event game. Game is up to four players. It has an option to practice the side games and gather coins through side games if the kids just enjoy playing those. Fun for the whole family or just the adults if free time is ever available. Only negative would be that there is only five boards available indefinitely. Some of them get a little repetitive %26 we tend to just play our favorites. We would love to be able to unlock other boards for different gameplay just as you unlock stickers, music, etc. overall we really enjoy this game and will continue to play. I have already recommended to others
