Nintendo Pikachu Amiibo #010 (Super Smash Bros.)
Nintendo characters come to life in new ways as amiibo interactive figures that have the ability to communicate with multiple specially designed games by just touching them to the Wii U GamePad controller. Nintendo first series of amiibo characters will be compatible with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with further games to be announced. FEATURES: Amiibo can interact with compatible games when players touch them to the Wii U GamePad controller, reading character data into games and saving data to the figure. Different compatible games will use amiibo in different ways. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the first game to use amiibo. Games like Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Yoshi’s Woolly World are also planned to support amiibo. In Super Smash Bros., players can battle alongside or against their amiibo characters, leveling them up in the process. They can then bring them to a friend who has a Wii U and the game to show off how they’ve trained and customized their characters. A new NFC reader/writer, which is being designed for Nintendo 3DS, is scheduled to launch in 2015.

I've got this amiibo so this will be a general review of the figure quality and it's in game use.Quality:These are great looking figures. I was very happy with the quality of all the figures. They feel solid, probably won't break with an accidental drop. Really nice to look at. You could display these and never use them in a game and it would be a nice looking collection. In game use:First thing you need to understand is that you don't need to buy any amiibos for any games. There are several Games like Smas Bros Wii U, Hyrule Warrios, Mario Kart 8, etc.

I bought the Pikachu Amiibo for my roommate for Christmas. I thought he could customize it for his own play style. I didn't do enough research at first. Allow me to tell you about what I didn't know before I bought it. THE AMIIBOS ARE COMPANIONS! YOU CANNOT FIGHT AS THE AMIIBO! (This is not necessarily a bad thing though)While I misunderstood the purpose of this product at first, we still opened it up and played around with it. We found ourselves playing for hours to teach it different tricks, level it up, and give it as many power ups as we could. Unfortunately, after a certain point, it learned our play styles and became too powerful. My roommates and I ended up having to team up against it 4vs1 in order to get close to beating it. I'm a pretty big fan of some of the Toys to Life products. I have every Disney Infinity figure. Since that's been discontinued, I've shifted my efforts to collecting Amiibos. They are very well constructed and highly detailed, much like the Disney Infinity figures. If you're a big fan of certain games and or characters, collecting their Amiibos are fun, whether you're actually using them for a game, or just for display.

While these Amiibo figures look cool, it feels like most of them are very limited in what they can actually do. My son begged me for this (or any Pokemon Amiibo that I could find,) and he ended up being disappointed in that it is really only usable in a couple of games. He was thinking that he could put Pikachu into any game, but that is not how it works. I would advise anybody who is interested in picking any of these up to do a quick online search for a database of all the figures and what games they are playable in.
Pikachu as we've grown to love since the 90's is the mascot of Pokemon basically and will forever be in our hearts thanks to ash and team rockets antics from the original series of pokemon. If you don't have a Pikachu amiibo don't worry he'll probably always be available since he's considered one of the super commons.Get him at your leisure! He's a fantastic Amiibo. As of the current releases (Up to wave 4) he rates up in the top 8 amiibo fighters from my testings.
Awesome. Just awesome. I never cared about Amiibos at all, until I started playing Breath of the Wild. Now these things serve a purpose. The Zelda themed ones give you awesome in game content (shields, weapons, armor, etc) and all the other ones give you random food and healing items. You can scan each one, once every 24 hours, and the Smash Bros. Link gives you Epona the first time you use it. EPONA, the best horse in the game! I've officially got Amiibo fever now.
Another easy to find Amiibo that still works on the App. Hopefully Nintendo will realize people are hoarding these and selling them 4 times what they are worth and start making more! I showed up first thing in the morning last batch and the had one copy of Robin and Lucina? Come on,I want Nintendo to make them useable not just some fad that people are overpaying for on the Internet. If you are a game club member at Best Buy these run about 10 bucks a piece. Now if Nintendo developes more uses that's a great deal! A track suit? No thanks.
This guy works for the new Switch games even though it doesn't say it on the back of the package. When the New Pokémon open world RPG comes out next year I am sure that this guy will have a special add on as they re-released him for the Switch like some others (Link, Mask of Majora, Wolf Link, and more). Any of these that says Super Smash Bros. or any even though they don't specifically say Switch will work.
I'm a big Pokemon collector so I snatched this guy up fast. He's a well designed figure, but I don't have Super Smash Bros to use him so I can't comment on the gameplay content! Hopefully he'll be compatible with the Switch version of Smash so I can use it properly. Right now he just sits next to his much larger cousin, Detective Pikachu. Looks good!
I personally love the Amiibo line. Getting official Nintendo figurines are worth it in itself but the application across multiple games is fantastic.Pikachu is one of the sturdier figures due to its rooted design. Thought hthe polish is ever so slightly less than the prototype figures that were on show when Amiibo was revealed, it's still absolutely great and absolutely worth it if you like Nintendo merchandise in any way.
