That is the question any prospective buyer of this 'game' needs to consider because this collection by Nintendo is not so much about quality as it is about quantity. There are 'games' like playing table tennis where you have to imagine both the ball and the table with nothing but sound from the TV or Switch to know whether you've hit the imaginary ball or not. Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Play Motion and Nintendo Land may not be deep and immersive, but they all are fun and challenging games within them. I expected something similar from a 1-2-Switch, a launch title. I was very disappointed. Indeed, all 24 minigames demonstrate the Switch's hardware capabilities. True, it was one of the better uses of full motion video in a game. Yes, the game allows players to face each other without looking at the screen. But that's all I have for compliments! Why is there no single player mode? Nintendo could have at least allowed a computer player to take over in place of a second player. Why is there no ... The craziest part about this whole thing is that 1-2-Switch is not packed in with the system. I had to pay a full price for a new copy. Used copies never go cheaper than $40. I had to get this game for historical reasons because it is a launch title. Besides that, I see no reason to get this game.

I'd say about half the games are good, 25% are bad, and the remaining 25% are somewhere in the middle.My real issue with this game (beyond the price) is the annoyance of constantly taking the wrist straps on and off for different mini games. While not rocket science it's also not exactly easy. Sometimes it doesn't make sense why you can't leave it on for particular games but they tell you take it off. It's almost impossible to press the release button and slide the wrist strap off without pushing some other button. Also, there's enough resistance in the hardware that you have a nagging fear that you're forcing it apart and that the whole thing will break.It's not a bad game, and young kids will like it, but you're not missing much by skipping this one. If you plan on showing your system to friends coming over and just want to introduce them to the joy-cons then it's worth having. As a standalone game it's weak.

I played it with my girlfriend for about 10 minutes and got really bored of it. I took it out and honestly thought I would never play it again. Then my girlfriend's niece and nephew came to our house to stay for a night. They hadn't seen or heard too much of the Switch, but they were aware of it and seemed interested in checking it out. 1-2 switch being the only game that I had that multiple people could play. The motion sensor detection is pretty accurate and less finicky than what I remember from Sonys Sixaxis controllers. The motion sensor detection is pretty accurate and less finicky than what I remember from Sonys Sixaxis controllers. It only shows the small potential of what this console can do.It was a bit disappointing to spend $40 on a birthday gift that my son and family only use for a few minutes a day at most. Zelda is probably going to be the better buy. Or Bomberman. Unless you are going to use your Switch at a party or gathering all the time I would stay away from this game. The system wasn't really meant for that kind of thing anyway.
I knew this game wasn't going to be great, but I still went ahead and picked it up since I have kids and was looking for a game that would show off some of the Switch's capabilities for friends.This is not the game to do that.The games just aren't that fun. The video instructions on how to play each minigame are cringeworthy and the games have you constantly attaching and removing the Joycon straps: some suggest having them on and others don't. It's a huge break in the action that occurs generally every 2-3 games. One of them has you hold the Switch like a baby. That's a minigame. Really. I'm putting myself to sleep just thinking about the games while writing this review.Some games are fun: The quick draw is OK, fake draw (in which the announcer says a bunch of words beginning with F - frog, fair, fight, foul before saying FIRE in an attempt to throw you off). The plate spinning game is fun, as are the ones where you're milking a cow and guessing the number of balls in a box. Other than that, there's just not much to it.I'd wait until this title inevitably drops to $10 or $15 before buying it otherwise you're throwing your money away.
