It was never dropped or wet it stays in a case when not being used. The controllers needed to be replaced after 6 months. Then again a year later. After a year the touch screen stopped responding. I took my glass protective cover off the screen to see if it was that interfering and it was not the issue. A few months after that it now says it can't read my game cards. I checked the games on a friend's switch and they work fine. I tried all the hacks to get the card reader to work again and they have all failed. It's ridiculous this thing cost so much money and breaks so easily. My original gameboy and ds systems work like they are new. ... Although it isn't as powerful as a newer xbox or even the xbox one or Playstation 4, the switch still offers a great selection of games, Nintendo's first party games are always great to play; games such as mario odyssey, breath of the wild, mario kart 8, legend of zelda tears of the kingdom, and even something like 1-2 switch are always fun and intuitive! MoreI've had this console for over 2 years, and my switch has aged greatly, and for a device that has been out for over 6 years its been a good run, although there have been some hiccups with joycon drift, it seems Nintendo now offers free repairs. Although it isn't as powerful as a newer xbox or even the xbox one or Playstation 4, the switch still offers a great selection of games, Nintendo's first party games are always great to play; games such as mario odyssey, breath of the wild, mario kart 8, legend of zelda tears of the kingdom, and even something like 1-2 switch are always fun and intuitive! As of 2023 I believe this is no better time to buy a Nintendo switch or even a Switch lite, with games such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG coming out, and even Mario Kart 8 getting it's DLC updates. If you didn't know the Switch's support for accessories are great, with plenty of third party companies providing accessories like cases, controllers, grips, and even tacky ones like sword grips for your joycons. All in all this console is definitely well worth it and now is a great time to grab one.
A fantastic product for kids and adults alike.This OLED model is the perfect place to start if, like me, you’re new to the Switch and its ecosystem.I bought this to play some classic games but have found myself playing newer games that run incredibly well on such a ‘small’ console that you can travel with.I have enjoyed Rayman Legends and pushed the Switch to the limits with Doom (2016) and Wolfenstein II, both of which look and sound incredible, even at 720p. The latter two games even have a 5.1 compressed audio track, so pumping through the sound system in the dock sounds incredible.All in all, considering this is a console for sharing the experience with friends and family and can fit in your carry-on, this is an incredible piece of kit.
