The game is a lot of fun; sort of a speedrunning trainer. Don't expect the depth of most other first-party Switch games. If you're getting the physical deluxe set though, you're getting it for the collectibles. The goodies are great. Amazing presentation, the pins feel sturdy, all the materials are good quality and look great. Perfect for adding to your nerdy video game shelf.

For Me personally, the Nintendo Entertainment System provided hours of fun and entertainment as a Child. With World Championship NES edition, I am now able to revisit the nostalgia with my Family. The various levels and tasks are challenging and fun racing against the clock to achieve the best possible time which creates a good amount of bragging rights with the fastest time.I highly recommend for both NES aficionados like Myself, or younger fans looking to refine their skills with these classic titles that are included.

I was a child of the NES era, and I nearly wore out my NES. Regardless of anything we have today in video gaming, playing these games always takes me back.I bought the Deluxe Edition because I couldn't resist the extra items - they'll look great on my "Nintendo" shelf. I especially love the feeling of the golden cartridge in the sleeve. I even caught myself looking into the bottom of it and blowing on it to clear the dust lol!The game itself is fun to play. You play little "snippits" of classic NES games with some sort of objective necessary to get the best score possible. Sometimes the objective is not a goal you would have playing the actual game, but probably something we all did back then when we reached the point of beating the game with our eyes closed, ... MoreI was a child of the NES era, and I nearly wore out my NES. I think the big miss here is that Nintendo should have included the full version of these games as part of the package, at least for the Deluxe Edition. Many if not all are probably available on Nintendo Switch Online, but it would have been a nice add-on.If for nothing else but the nostalgia, I highly recommend this game, and I it brings back the memories for you, go ahead and spring for the full Deluxe Edition. Then you too can blow inside the gold cartridge to get the dust out.

[Rewarded Review] Fun for speedrunners at least.
20 August 2024

World Championships NES edition is fun for a while but gets kind of stale after a week. The game is very enjoyable, but seems to mainly appeal to speedrunners be it professional or casual. I got the collectors edition because I enjoy the extra stuff you get and I think it's worth it. The game has 150 different speedrunning challenges, but this is a very small amount of content for an entire game. There should be at least double the amount. Overall it is alright, but I would not be able to recommend this game to the average person because it appeals to a niche audience.

[Rewarded Review] Great Game and Great Collectables
21 July 2024

Yes, Best Buy's warehouse executive/director/management/overlords team should put a process in place to prevent collectables such as these from being shipped without sufficient protection. It would also set them apart from the other rain forest and the red dot competitors, both whom care very little when it comes to packaging certain items. On to the game!!! It's Amazing, it's fun! I really like the gold cartridge and stand far more than I thought I would. This is a must for anyone into the old NES, or anyone into Nintendo collectables. the quality is quite good.I have the japanese version on order also - it apparently comes with bluetooth famicom controllers instead of the gold cartridge... excited!

[Rewarded Review] Great Game with a Great Package!
20 August 2024

The Nintendo World Championships NES Deluxe Set Edition is a great package for Nintendo fans new and old. The game itself is a fun little package of bite-sized mini games. The time trials push you to optimize your playthroughs. It also has a mulitplayer mode, which is great competitive fun with your friends! Aside from the game, the package comes with great items for collectors to include a gold replica cartridge, pins, and more! Would highly reccomend to both Nintendo and regular video game fans alike!

[Rewarded Review] Great game but package got smashed in the mail
9 August 2024

A great game for those who grew up playing NES games. Although short if your rushing through it, but the challenge is trying to get S rank for every challenge. I really enjoy the World Championship Challenged and the Silver and Gold challenge. It’s disappointing that you can’t play with friends online and no leader boards.I am truly disappointed at Bestbuy for shipping this celebration and collectors keepsake in a bubble mailer. My package got smashed in every corner. So I wouldn’t recommend getting this shipped out to you.

[Rewarded Review] It’s Just Cool…Get It…
9 August 2024

If you grew up with an NES in your life, when it was the current top level graphically, and remember when Nintendo had the World Championship and practiced every day trying to compete…and never got there - this is for you! The rarest of NES Cartridges comes to Switch with everything you never got to experience outside of “The Nintendo World Championship” or getting ahold of 1 of the few cartridges in existence! (Or you just loaded the ROM that one time and didn’t have a friend around) This is just a cool set whether you play the game or not, honestly. For standard retail price you get some cool stuff, including an actual gold Nintendo Cartridge replica of the original game. It’s cool, get it.

How are there so many four and five star reviews on THIS? Are people seriously so brainwashed by Nintendo marketing that they can’t even be honest with themselves about what trash this is? It cost SIXTY dollars! This should be a free download on every possible platform that is capable of running it. Imagine any other company trying to do this and not being trashed by every critic, who ever became aware it existed. Stop listening to Nintendo marketing and use your brain, and when the haze clears, you will realize that this is not worth $60.
