I was expecting this game since 2013 when it was first announce. Couple of weeks ago I felt under the reviews wagon and started to have second thoughts about the game because of the review's complex gameplay and system. Now after ten hours of playing (do to other compromises) I'm hooked with the game. Game graphics mainly the world visuals and background is breathtaking. The characters has a manga anime style for those who know. The Gameplay reminds me of Final Fantasy 12-13 and of course the first Xenoblade which I love it. The world in super big and the creatures and monsters are really detail. The way that the game play also as far as class system is really interesting. But nearly every landmass I have seen show up in the game can be reached. Nothing in this game is small.The world is dangerous. As I mentioned before you are far from the biggest creature around. What's more some things see you as lunch and will take you if they spot you. And you can't just cruise through areas because you see a few low level enemies. Sometimes far meaner ones are lurking in.

I assume it's better post-game. It does pick up when you unlock mechanics such as "overdrive" and the mechs (called Skells) but in summary the hotbar combat system might not appeal to everyone, still, this game is bound to have some aspect you like if you're pati.

I haven't yet gone in for a PS4 or XB1 simply because I haven't seen any must have content - Fallout 4 unfortunately included in my non essential assessment. I was hopeful that XBCX would be a decent open world game to save me from going to 'next gen' while eking out a few more months of viability out of my Wii U (which I only really bought from Mario Kart, and everything else has been a bonus - Splatoon, wow still on the honeymoon +200 hours in). I have yet to get my mech, a "skell," but I know that will only open a whole new world to me! Seriously, get this game and have fun on the alien world you get thrown into. The battle mechanics are simple enough to enjoy but have a depth to them to keep you engaged.
It was worth waiting to get this game. The graphics are pretty good for the wii u. I don't know how they did it, but they used every inch of graphics card power.Storywise, it's pretty good and epic. It's actually a bit too short, although the many many side missions tie into the storyline and add to the overall storyline. I loved every minute of the time I spent in the game, even when grinding. The world is just so alive and grinding doesn't even seem like grinding.The music is very nice. Very well executed and definitely adds to the experience and atmosphere of the game. One of the better soundtracks I've heard in any game.What I liked: content, story (although short), music, big robots, wide variety of creatures and bosses will boggle your mind.What I didn't like: Tatsu. Cut scenes never include your robots. Not on playstation, this is the ONLY reason I bought the wii u.
