I bought 2 of these units and 1 of them failed within 2 weeks.It was replaced by IMR and the replacement is doing ok.I had to pay return shipping for the exchange. I don't fault IMR as they did replace the defective unit. But, having to pay extra because of Nitecore, leaves bad feelings.

I already had a 8-slot charger and loved it. It charged my batteries quick and lasted about 6 years and I'm confident that it would've lasted even longer if not for poor handling of my checked bag on a domestic flight. Nitecore makes a quality product and I would highly recommend buying one.

Great battery charger. Easy to use. Chargers 8 batteries at a time. I love the USB inputs for charging USB devices.. The charger charges the batteries first, then it charges any USB devices connected to the charger. It charges batteries and USB devices quickly.

After looking at many chargers for 18650 batteries and using shall we say lots of "dodgy", cheap and probably dangerous Chinese ones... I chose the Nitecore for it's reported solid build. Our primary use for these batteries is torches, we live in the countryside!!! I wanted to have the charger in the bedroom, next to my clock = easy functional access. Problem... As you add batteries to the i8 it buzzes! AHHHHH, OK, quietly, maybe I can tolerate it!.... But, no... the more you add the louder the buzzing gets..... Bought this charger years ago when it first came out. It charges pretty fast and the fact that outlets are sparse or hard to reach in my house; having the USB ports to charge mine and my wife's Android phones is quite handy. My only gripe is that I have to stagger my 26650 batteries with her 186650 batteries so it does make charging more than 4 266650 difficult. Only recently have I started looking for another charger because this one is dying and has a ticking sound like a clock when charging. Was hoping to find another one but they are discontinued. I hope they re-engineer this one to be a little more accommodating for multiple large batteries.
I have mostly recharged AA an AAA nicd and nimh batteries. Other chargers have I have used sometimes over heat, this one has not. I have also charged 14430 batteries. Has worked well with all I have tried. You can charge form 1 to 8 batteries at a time. See spec for batteries this charger will charge. Only negative I have is that because it will charge so many types of batteries you sometimes have to reposition batteries to make correct contact. Do not try new AA rechargeable lithium batteries with this.
I recently purchased the i8 battery charger because I was looking for a charger that could charge a minimum of 8 batteries and have a small footprint.To that end, the Nitecore ticks all the boxes.However, I am going to say that's where the joy finishes. The Nitcore, is not very forgiving when loading either AAA, or AAAA batteries as there is nothing substantial to hold the battery in place.One has to delicately insert the battery into its spring-loaded position and then carefully allow the battery to rise into its final resting charging position. What is that all about? The instructions that come with the charger do not say. Other than, perhaps there is something wrong with that battery? But why do all the other batteries flash red as well.And lastly, is the charge indicator light. Its wedged between two plastic flanges that make it difficult to view unless you stand right over the top of the charger.So in summary. The pro's are that it takes many batteries, and takes up little roomThe cons are that the batteries are difficult to insert, the charge indicator light is difficult to view and it is also difficult to understand what the batteries are doing.For the price I paid I don't think that the value for the money is there.
A versatile battery charger that has a reasonable sensing ability for battery status. Not infallible and can refuse to charge some batteries. This is not uncommon and this model is better than may others I have owned. May be worth keeping a basic dumb charger to start the charging process with any difficult batteries. I suspect many rechargeable batteries are disposed off with plenty of life left because they have been allowed to completely discharge. The base of the unit gets very hot underneath in the recessed section. May be worth taking care of what you place it on when charging. The higher number of batteries being charged at one time the hotter it gets. Looks to be well made. Because of its versatile charging system and the way it holds the batteries vertically, no one particular battery size fits perfectly. So it can be a bit fiddly to use. Taken as a whole, I am pleased with my purchase even if its not perfect.
So far working great with all my 18650 battery charging needs. Delivery was fast and product came in undamaged and ready for service. The red and green led lights make it easy to see when the battery is charged. I feel it is faster than my Nitecore 4 battery charger, but I haven't measured it with a watch, so I am not positive.
Very very simple charger. It gives you no information other than whether or not your batteries are charging or full. Due to the form of the charger it is easy to get a battery in such a position that it won't start to charge and the lights aren't obvious enough to let you notice the error until you try to use a dead battery. Getting the batteries on and off the charger is difficult. Unlike what is advertised, this charger is designed to charge 18650s ONLY. You can get other batteries like 20700s and 26650s to work but you will likely damage the wraps. If you often have a need to charge 8 18650s slowly, this is an ok charger and great for its price. The design isn't really bad, just lazy.
