I love nitecore and probably will continue to buy their products. They come in handy at work and spotting right before the deer season kicks in. However, I guess over the years it’s gone down some 😣. As if it could not have been more perfect timing the battery in my P 12 GT1 decided to take a dump.

I purchased this several months ago and have been super impressed. I use it for a few minutes every night when going from my shop back to my house after dark. I find myself toggling between the power modes, usually looking for a LOWER setting-- this light is BRIGHT! I honestly can't say how long it takes to recharge because after several months of usage, albeit for only a few minutes a day, I have NOT HAD TO RECHARGE IT!. I especially like the fact that the battery contains the charging port, so there is no little rubber flap on the light to potentially fail/become lost. This makes the light more water resistant, IMHO. I WILL be a repeat customer!

Well it's called a long throw flashlight for a reason. I have only been able to test it at a distance of about 400 yards but it had no problem lighting up a good size area at that distance. It looks like a searchlight when you aim it up at the sky! It's plenty bright enough also. Even though it's designed as a thrower it works just as well around the yard and inside the house with it's lower power settings. Quality is excellent especially when you consider the low price. I have several Streamlight and Surefire flashlight's that I paid quite a bit more $ for that aren't any better than the P 30. If there's one downside (which I knew before buying) is that the head is a little large to throw in your pocket to use as an EDC. But it does come with it's own holster.

I have multiple nitecore lights and love them all. I didn't have a dedicated thrower and loved the compact size of this one so I got it.The good thing about this light is it's compact size and rechargeable battery. The beam is nice and focused and does a good job at lighting up your target. The bad is while the light will shine to it's advertised 600 meters it's not very effective past about 450. I feel like if it had around 1800 lumens as does most of nitecore's lights it would be perfect.Overall it's a great light with a great compact size but in my opinion it's a little on the underpowered side. If I had to do it again I would buy the p30i and skip this purchase but for it's size and portability it's still a great option.
I am sure that I have left good product reviews for other NITECORE Flashlights. It just so happened to be that this P30 happens to be yet another great Nitecore Product. It offers fantastic beam throw at a very nice distance and I can use this flashlight just about anywhere because its not too bulky. This purchase of another NITECORE P30 Flashlight is now my third one of this model and I keep purchasing them because they are so versatile and I have several replacement batteries that I use for this model where it fits and suits my needs perfectly. I will be purchasing many more Nitecore Brand Flashlights, for myself and for future gifts. Thank you.
Unbelievable power and focus for this size of a flashlight. It's small and light enough to carry along on any trip, yet has enough power and focus to boil water from a distance (ok, ever so slight exaggeration...). The MH40GTR has slightly longer ranger due to even stronger focus from a bigger head but is also somewhat bulkier. The "New P30" (careful, the "New" is part of the model name, there is also a "P30" without the "New" - so one can easily buy a used "New P30" and a new "P30" which would be different lights) has very useful mode switching (better in my opinion than the MH series lights) and great low power modes. Let's face it, in 99% of the time very, very little amount of power is completely enough - so it's very important that the light has useful and ... MoreUnbelievable power and focus for this size of a flashlight. Let's face it, in 99% of the time very, very little amount of power is completely enough - so it's very important that the light has useful and reliable low power modes. The main thing about this light is the extreme focus of the output - the center spot is very small, therefore illuminating a small area very well. That means that the surrounding area is much less lit, less light is wasted on what's not important - but there is also less of an overview. A TM03 for example has a much wider lit area/angle but less power in the center spot despite having almost 3x the lumens of the New P30. Heat and battery life are correlated with lumen output, a more focused light will therefore utilize the energy from the battery more efficiently to illuminate a smaller area.
I carry this every day at work on my belt. It really delivers on those distance shots. And since the recession started crime is an issue. So having a light reach out lets people know there are people on this property so stay away. For the size it rather comfortable. And I had no issues with having a second battery. There is plenty of run time on this guy. The long distance throw saves me from walking to see things. I can easily see valves or conveyors running. And check the perimeter for intruders. I definitely will be a buyer for the next version of this light.
I was impressed with the throw of the New P30 even on the lowest setting it reaches beyond 15 feet. On the second step up it is good for many hours and is good for most instances. The brightest setting has a long reach with even some background lighting without washing out. The one problem is the tailcap switch as it is the same as on the New P12. There is no protection from accidental activation. I found the P12 activated on two occasions in my left chest pocket. The New P30 has a sheath that does not cover the switch and can be accidently activated. I does fit in a Maxpedition 5" flashlight sheath and not reach the bottom thereby offering protection. Nitecore thinks this is a "tactical" switch.
