As someone with curly hair and a long-time battle with stubborn dandruff, I must say that Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo has been a game-changer for addressing my dandruff issues. The results in combating flakes and itchiness have been impressive, which is why I'm giving it four stars. This shampoo's active ingredient, ketoconazole, has definitely made a significant difference in reducing dandruff and soothing my scalp. Within just a few uses, I noticed a noticeable improvement in the amount of dandruff present, and the itchiness subsided considerably. However, as much as I appreciate Nizoral's anti-dandruff properties, I have to be cautious with its impact on my curly hair. The formula can be slightly drying, especially if used too often. Overall, Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is an effective solution for dandruff, and I would highly recommend it to those dealing with persistent flakes and irritation. If you have curly hair like me, just remember to balance its use with proper conditioning to keep your curls happy and healthy.

I started getting dandruff in the recent year. I’ve never had dandruff before and my hair stylist advised me to stop using dry shampoo. I stopped using dry shampoo for the last 6-7 months or so and I’m still getting dandruff. I have an extremely oily scalp. My hair will by oily within 24 hours of watching it in case that makes a difference. Anyway, I bought this shampoo and it didn’t do anything for my dandruff. If anything, it made the flakes bigger. I went through one entire bottle and gave up. In addition to this not working for me, it made my hair extremely dry and doesn’t smell great. It’s not a bad smell but it’s definitely bland.

I have a flaky scalp because of dandruff and this shampoo has helped so much! I wash with my regular shampoo (once or twice) then I lather Nizoral on my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes then I wash it out thoroughly. This shampoo has stripping ingredients so it is very drying. I follow up with a very moisturizing conditioner that I also let sit for a few minutes and I also use a leave-in conditioner and hair oil outside of the shower! Dandruff can feel embarrassing and frustrating and it can be overwhelming to try and overcome it but Nizoral really did help me a lot. Give it try and if it does not work, your scalp issues could be something more and maybe you should explore visiting a dermatologist.

This shampoo was recommended by my dermatologist for severe psoriasis on my scalp. I was pleasantly surprised and have used it off and on for over 15 years. It has ketoconazole, which makes it different from other over-the-counter dandruff shampoos. It also smells really good for a medicated shampoo. I use it when I have a flareup. And I use it for about a week to control the symptoms, then use it every other shampoo. I have naturally curly hair that is really hard to control and manage and the is sensitive enough that it doesn’t damage my hair and my hair actually looks great when I use it. It is definitely worth the price if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or embarrassing dandruff.

This product is my saving grace in the dry winter months! I tried so many other products before this and nothing worked as remotely well as Nizoral. It leaves my hair feeling extra clean and helps remove any product buildup. It takes a couple of weeks of use for me to notice most of the flakes gone. But then I only use it about once a week for maintenance and the dandruff stays away! I only noticed my dandruff coming back because I ran out of my first bottle and hadn’t used it since it started getting cold again. If you struggle with yearly dandruff cycles then I 100% recommend this product!

It really worked for me
15 September 2022

First off, I rarely leave reviews unless I was amazed how good or how awful something is. I had moderate to bad dandruff for over a decade. I tried everything form the commercial ani-dandruff shampoo, a prescription shampoo, harsh stuff like coal tar, natural / organic shampoos, weird remedies like apple cider vengar, hair washing frequency, but nothing worked more than maybe a week. I tried Nizoral about 18 months ago and within 7-10 days my dandruff cleared up. I still use it once or twice a week. It's been over a year and a half and the dandruff has not returned. I guess whatever head fungus I had on my head, this formula did a number on it.

Red itchy inflammed bumps be GONE!
27 December 2021

For the last 4 years I’d been dealing with a ridiculously itchy scalp. My scalp would flare and it would become red and inflamed. I would also get bumps throughout my head. I’ve tried everything, all the shampoos you could think of (the tar shampoo was only a 2 day trial bc i just couldn’t handle the scent) and nothing would help. I took advise from people telling me i needed to “train” my hair. I went from washing my hair daily to only washing twice a week. This year i started noticing that the longer i went in between washes, the worse the itch and inflammation became. I started researching more and figured out that dandruff is usually NOT a sign of dry scalp but actually occurs due to an oily scalp. This year i started noticing that the longer i went in between washes, the worse the itch and inflammation became. I started researching more and figured out that dandruff is usually NOT a sign of dry scalp but actually occurs due to an oily scalp. I started washing my hair every other day and realizes that it helped my scalp a little but the inflammation and red bumps would not disappear. My doctor recommended i try this shampoo and in all honesty i almost didn’t try it out bc i was so over these drug store shampoos that didn’t seem to help. I’m so glad i picked it up because it was instant relief! I literally used this once and my scalp immediately felt better. I’ve now been using this for a month and a half and i will never try anything else! FYI: I use this directly on my scalp. I put some on my fingertips and massage my scalp. I try to let it sit for 3 minutes before i rinse it off. I use a different shampoo for the ends of my hair. I never tried this on my entire hair so I’m not sure how it makes your actual hair feel once it dries but i will say that my scalp feels better than ever. I don’t have any more red itchy inflamed bumps on my scalp. After 4 long years my scalp finally feels healthy again!

Listen, ever since covid my hair and scalp have been a nightmare. I never, ever had issues with my scalp before covid. Welp, here we are. Itchy scalp and hair jumping out of the follicle as fast as possible. Nizoral is great. A little goes a long way. Works so well to calm my scalp and the flakes I did have disappeared within the first week. But, it won't work very well if you just shampoo it in and then wash out immediately. You're going to have to work it into the scalp and let it sit there for awhile. I have curly hair, so I totally understand what the other reviewers mean about dry and frizzy hair when using this. But, try to just get it on your scalp, not the mids/ends of your hair. I know it's not always easy, but it will help with the drying. I also had to switch conditioners from curly girl method friendly silicone free brands to silicones and it has helped a lot.

absolutely works for seborrheic dermatitis and fungal acne. it is drying to hair and skin so a conditioner (or moisturizer if using it as a skin cleanser for fungal acne) is needed. the bottle is small and when using on the scalp, the bottle gets used up quickly. annoying that they make such a small bottle; it actually creates more plastic waste to go through small bottles faster than it would to go through a larger bottle that isn't significantly more plastic. please make much larger bottles! the smell is decent; not great or bad. would be nice if they made different scents too or fragrance-free. if using for seborrhea, you need to use it several times a week, pretty much forever. depending on the cause of it, it never actually goes away; this product just controls ... Moreabsolutely works for seborrheic dermatitis and fungal acne. it is drying to hair and skin so a conditioner (or moisturizer if using it as a skin cleanser for fungal acne) is needed. the bottle is small and when using on the scalp, the bottle gets used up quickly. annoying that they make such a small bottle; it actually creates more plastic waste to go through small bottles faster than it would to go through a larger bottle that isn't significantly more plastic. please make much larger bottles! the smell is decent; not great or bad. would be nice if they made different scents too or fragrance-free. if using for seborrhea, you need to use it several times a week, pretty much forever. depending on the cause of it, it never actually goes away; this product just controls the overgrowth and subsequent scaling/flaking/itching, because that yeast is something you will always have on your skin. it's supposed to be there. it's only an issue when it overgrows.

so i’ve struggled with dandruff for a WHILE. like to the point that if i got braids done, my braids would have dandruff forming by the end of the week. i had found out about this shampoo thanks to tiktok and saw many good reviews so i bought it. i have 4c, thick, corse hair and this shampoo honestly didn’t do anything for my dandruff at all. i recently purchased it again thinking that maybe i wasn’t apply enough the first time or i was applying it wrong, but I wasn’t. this does give you some temporary relief for maybe up to a week, but for me i found my hair being itchy again not long after using this product. also, it is VERY stripping idk if i’m the only one who noticed that? my hair felt like literal straw after i finished washing my hair with this. overall won’t ... Moreso i’ve struggled with dandruff for a WHILE. like to the point that if i got braids done, my braids would have dandruff forming by the end of the week. i had found out about this shampoo thanks to tiktok and saw many good reviews so i bought it. i have 4c, thick, corse hair and this shampoo honestly didn’t do anything for my dandruff at all. i recently purchased it again thinking that maybe i wasn’t apply enough the first time or i was applying it wrong, but I wasn’t. this does give you some temporary relief for maybe up to a week, but for me i found my hair being itchy again not long after using this product. also, it is VERY stripping idk if i’m the only one who noticed that? my hair felt like literal straw after i finished washing my hair with this. overall won’t be purchasing it again and i wouldn’t recommend this to my 4c beautiful women.
