NOCO GENIUS5 6V 12V 5A Battery Charger

I'm on paternity leave and the truck died after about a week so decided to get this and definitely worth it. At first I placed it on let it sit overnight the bar did not budge so i right it couldn't do it. But a I saw it gave enough juice for some lights to flicker like it was trying, so I figured the accessories in the truck. After market radio and what not was draining it to quickly that it wasn't able to charge it quick enough. So I unplugged the cable and charged the battery separately, came back the next day and it was fully charged. Put the cables back on and started the truck up no problem. Left charger on the battery with power cable to the truck back on, came back a week later and checked with a multimeter. So in short it's a great maintainer in my opinion but if it seems like it's not charging try it with the battery not attached to vehicle and if that doesn't work than I'd try the repair or boost feature and having a multimeter would help you understand what's going on to make sure the battery is actually charging.

A Superb Charger

I am extremely pleased with my NOCO GENIUS 5 charger !Overall construction is excellent. Sturdy plastic case, long flexiblecables with quality insulation. Will charge most types of 12V and 6Vbatteries. I’ve used it 3 times on an AGM type. Comes in a sturdy box that can be used for storage. LED’s indicate state of charge, bad battery, reversed polarity, and over-voltage. Owner's manual is very well written, easy to understand, and includes detailed specs. Designed in USA, made in Vietnam. Three year warranty.

Awesome Compact Maintenace/Charger

The NOCO GENIUS 5 6V and 12V 5A Battery Charger & Maintainer! AO4052295 gets the complete job done. Important to read the manual to understand the icon symbols and benefits. Initial Charging/Maintenace process can take about 5 hours to complete. You will have a fully charged battery with update new life. This product received many 5-star positive review on YouTube. As far as car chargers and battery boosts go, I haven’t seen products as versatile as Noco. I have a car booster from them which is super light weight and can be carried around in your bag so it doesn’t die out sitting in the cold car during -40C weather. This car battery charger turned out to be equally impressive. Lightweight but still packs a punch. I think the 5 Amp output is perfect for my needs. It detected my car’s battery was at less than 25% when I started charging. This is due to the fact that I haven’t been driving it around much due to travel out of my city. It was super easy to set up and hook up to my car battery and within 3-4 hours, the battery was fully charged as indicated by the solid green light on the charger. This will serve you well whether you have regular lead acid battery or EFB (enhanced flooded battery) or AGM (acid glass matted) battery. Also has a 6V option.3. The unit is completely quiet which is in contrast to the cheap one I had bought years ago which does the job but is super loud. At first I thought perhaps this isn’t working. But don’t worry it does the job so well without ever being noticeable which is a huge plus.4. My car’s battery was charged from almost dead to completely charged as checked independently using a multimeter so it definitely does the job. But does it so well that you don’t even know it. It’s awesome.5. There is an option clearly mentioned in the instructions that you can leave this plugged in forever to your car and it won’t damage the car battery.Overall I highly recommend this product and with my good experience with two Noco products so far, I recommend making Noco your choice for car battery boost or charging/maintenance needs.

Failed Quickly

Failed after only three months and only a few uses. I found it inoperative after returning from vacation - no LED, no power. I only used it once, for two weeks, as a maintainer on my truck battery and it died. It had also required multiple "restarts" to charge on prior occasions with other batteries.Customer Service required me to pay for shipping for warranty service, even though the device completely drained my truck battery and lasted just over three months. Disappointing.

Failed quickly.

Defective. Charger failed after only three months of use. I only used it a few times. While we were away for a couple of weeks, so I used it to maintain the battery on my truck; however, when we returned home, the charger/maintainer was inoperable, and my truck battery was drained. I noticed on a couple of prior uses on other batteries that the charger would disengage on occasion and would essentially have to be restarted to function.

Great chargers

The 5 is my second one. I thought my first had gone bad but, it was the battery (Almost) years old in Tucson AZ. Hot summers and 40 degree temp changes in a winter day.That is hard on any battery.Now that I have two. I am using the first as my battery tender on my Harley Davidson.Gonna put a new battery in my RamCharger now that I know the old one hopped a ride on the dead train.What I like:The compact size. I grew up with battery chargers that were the size of a battery or bigger.The disconnects. So I can leave the clamps hooked up and disconnect the charger.The number and types of batteries it can charge. Pretty much any battery on the rack today. External plug in's sound cool but I am not cutting my truck to install that.I would like to get a second set of battery leads. I would remove the clamps and wire it to my trucks battery. I don't drive it much so the charger plays tender.

Quality Charger

Noco makes great products. This product is no exception to that statement. On our last camping trip and last minute reason for purchase of this unit, I ran the charger off the inverter in our truck bed to recharge the battery as the fridge was running it down throughout the day while off-roading. In the days of using Battery tenders, they included an SAE to battery clamp and SAE to ring terminal adapter for a permanent installation. The Noco only includes the clamp harness, but the clamps can be removed with a phillips head screwdriver to be used with a permanent installation using ring terminals. For some reason, the only Noco accessory stocked in store is a DC 12v socket extension that doesn’t even work with this product. I would have purchased another permanent battery installation harness and cut the ring terminals off of that one rather than the harness that attached to the clamps. Doesn’t make a lot of sense!

Saved me endless pain

Was unsure if battery, a Halford 115ah agm stop start was dead, or just playing up again. It's only 6 months old halfords brand. But after 24 hrs it recovered it fully, the tested has been stop start is working. Bms also OK. I've had 3 batteries within weeks from halfords. I'd suspect its the car, but had halfords do a sercixe and it was checked by them. So it's the battery. 5 Yr Guarentee and it maybe needed. But now I've this neco 5ah charger, I can at least get the car and halfords battery to stop to examine.Saved me a little. Recommend.

Very easy to use.

All you need to do is choose your battery type. Mine is a 12v AGM. You push the mode button until you reach your battery type and it will start automatically charging. It took the NOCO about 15 minutes to charge my battery before it went into maintaining mode. It's been maintaining my battery for 11 days now without issue.If you're new to car battery chargers/maintainers, here's what you do: Don't plug in the NOCO yet. Connect your RED POSITIVE to the battery, connect the BLACK NEGATIVE to a nearby bolt on the car body, plug in the NOCO and choose your battery type with the mode button. It will start charging automatically.Prius owners should know these clamps fit much, much better on the auxiliary connection under the hood than most clamps.
