Noctua NH-D15S Chromax Black CPU Cooler
Noctua's CPU coolers have repeatedly impressed in various test reports with their excellent cooling performance. In particular, the NH-D15 has convinced both users and testers alike with its low noise levels and icy temperatures. With the D15S, Noctua introduces an asymmetrical design to enhance compatibility with tall RAM modules and large graphics cards.

I bought it for my AMD Ryzen 5900x, which may be quite hot under a heavy load. This cooler keeps my CPU at 70 Celsius as maximum even with some light overclocking. Not to mention that it is a lot more quiet than my old Hyper 212X. The only thing is that this beast is big. I had to literally squeeze my video card using my both hands into the PCI-e slot under the cooler as it did not allow me to do that easily. So, do make sure you have enough space for it.

Noctua has a good reputation for being high quality and very quiet. This fan was no exception. It's really massive that i thought i might have trouble fitting it into my case, but it works just perfectly. I think it'd fit any standard atx case. If there's space for the mobo ports faceplate and 120mm fan side-by-side, then there's enough space for this fan.And honestly, i'd say it looks so much better with this fan in it, as all this empty space has just been filled in by this square-fitting heatsink that it makes my other office pc look empty by comparison. As for sound, i have mine in a sound reducing case, and while i've got quiet case fans, the default ryzen "stealth" cooler was annoying in that it'd spin up and make small amount of noise. With this cooler ... MoreNoctua has a good reputation for being high quality and very quiet. So a good investment for today, a great investment for the future.

Really solid, well manufactured, high quality product. Box presented neatly with reasonably environmentally friendly packaging. Main box contained CPU cooler, side box contained all accessories and installation instructions. Installation instructions clearly displayed separately for each different CPU socket type - making it easy to identify which one you need to follow. Instructions easy. I've installed CPU coolers before and this one was certainly one of the easiest. Plenty of thermal paste included. No regrets buying this. It's been hot over the last couple of days so I am unsure of the cooling difference on the CPU, but the temperatures are sitting about the same as the watercooling all-in-one (AIO) CPU cooler that this cooler is replacing. I wasn't necessarily expecting to see drastic temperature improvements, but the AIO was getting quite old so wanted to replace it before it gave out on me. In theory this heatsink and fan will last a lot longer than a water pump.I did forget how much space these big devices take up compared to the all-in-one watercooler. The installation guide suggested removing the motherboard from the case if you didn't have a back cutout to install the backplate. I did have a back cutout so I didn't remove the motherboard, but after getting through the installation I ended up having to remove the motherboard as I didn't have enough access to plug in the CPU fan. This is not the fault of the CPU cooler, more so an access limitation of the case I am using, but it's worth being mindful of - if you are trying to save time by not removing the motherboard to install this, consider plugging the CPU fan in before installing the heatsink and then just keep the fan out of the way during the rest of the installation. The large 140mm fan runs slowly and is very quiet, which is awesome, but at idle speeds it triggered my BIOS CPU fan warning so I had to adjust this to a lower setting.Absolutely would buy Noctua products again.

Exceptionally well built product. Exceptional fan. Exceptional function. Just make sure you measure your case beforehand, as you may find like me, it doesn't fit inside your case. Purchased this for a Lian Li PC-O11and though it is exceptional, its too large for my case. That was my fault, so this still gets a 5 stars.
Switched from an AIO to this since my 5900x runs hot, and now my temps are much better! It is a chonky cooler and can be fiddly to install in a smaller case, but it looks fantastic and works great. A little pricey, but considering it's Noctua, super compatible with everything, and still cheaper than most AIO's, you can't go wrong with it.
Amazingly simple to install and the included accessories were a nice touch. I'm still unaware as to the difference between this and the standard D15 minus an extra fan, so if I were to buy again I'd just go with the D15 and remove the fan if it didn't fit.
I had a water cooler before in my old system. I wanted something simple and effective. Noctua came through with a fantastic CPU cooler. It's not the cheapest but I feel it's the BEST.
It's no competition, Linus even said so. I was having temps a little too high for my liking, I first upgraded my case from the Lian Li Lancool II to the Lian Li Lancool III. Little better. Added 3 more fans. Little better but not optimal. Replaced LIAN LI Galahad 360 AIO with Noctua Chromax and have never seen temps lower. 10/10 would buy again.
Its massive!!! It also has never let the temps on my 10850k get anywhere near hot. I have a 3090 in a la cool 2 mesh and only have about 3mm of clearance after having to raise the second fan to fit my ram. The version I have is the Black its really nice. I also tried to cool a 12700k with a liquid and those fans were way louder.
this is my second fan, the first one i got 5 years ago and still running quietly.their thermal past is the best as well.their customer service is really nice.it is the best you can get.
