Super excited to give these a spin. Being one of the few shoes on the market that has a Vibram midsole along with a fully Dyneema upper. After the 300-mile mark on rough and rocky east coast trails, I can confidently say these are taking a beating and have no sign of slowing down. Little to no wear on the sole, upper, or toe cap. Zero compression after long days on the feet and they grip like no other, One of the few shoes that I've recently tried that I can put my full confidence in when cooking downhill.Sizing is a bit tricky. I am a size 12 in almost all other brands ( Hoka, Salomon, Saucony, Altra ect ) and these fit but only with very thin socks. Any trail-based thickness socks like darn tough create sizing issues. I would most likely bump up a half size next ... MoreSuper excited to give these a spin. Being one of the few shoes on the market that has a Vibram midsole along with a fully Dyneema upper. With a Dyneema upper, they don't breathe super well and have zero drain ports on the side of the shoes. Would and will buy again.##BackcountryGearhead

I'd been curious about Norda's for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on a pair of these. I live in Maine and run snowy/icy dirt roads and trails all winter.I love almost everything about these, and they come close to justifying the price. The one big issue I'm having is the heel cup. I've run about 20 miles in them so far, and it's rubbing enough to cause blisters. There's no stitching anywhere else except for directly down the back of the heel.I'm hoping some adjustments with lacing and insoles will help, but really disappointed that a premium shoe like this would have such a poorly designed heel.I'd give them 5 stars if this wasn't a problem, but what's the point of a running shoe you can't run in?

Amazing Trail shoes- Half size up for sure
21 March 2023

The shoes the perhaps best quality shoe I have seen in ages. Great looks, attention to details. Beyond words. It’s the Range Rover of trail shoes.Awesome sticky outsole, upper is made of super strong fabric and laces are strong. The insoles is made of boost kind of material to give you super comfort and energy return. The insole is thick and plush. The insole itself would cost like 20 bucks anyway under the sun.The fit of shoe is comfortable with good Vibram midsole cushion, it’s soft and bouncy. The tie Baid has lots of space and you don’t feel suffocating. It comes with a shoe bag.

Economies of scale (choosing your level of equipment)
3 July 2023

There are some great in-depth reviews here and elsewhere online, so I'll offer a general perspective from an average runner or mildly athletic point of view. This is a great pair of shoes, echoing others' notes on the comfort and durability once broken in. You can likely get a different pair of trail running shoes for half the cost, and that is worth considering depending on your level of output. However, these shoes have already taken a beating and are structurally none the worse for wear––perhaps something to keep in mind that the additional cost may be worth it for the longevity compared to other brands. Finally, if you are concerned about the sizing, Norda provides a printable guide to help determine the appropriate size for you as these do tend to fit small.

Excellent All-Rounder with a Few Small Caveats
16 June 2022

I've run about 200km in these shoes, so the review can only speak to durability and performance up to that point. I think what will really make this a 5-star shoe is if they last as long as they are claimed to, between 1000-1400km, and which will 100% justify the cost of entry. To start, I found the sizing a bit confusing. I went up a half-size per Norda's own recommendation, but wish I'd stayed true as I find the shoe fairly voluminous and wide, which, for a narrow-footed runner like myself, means more sliding around than is typically desirable. I like my trail shoes snug, even on long outings. This has been accommodated for by wearing slightly thicker socks, but when I get my next pair (spoiler), I will stay true to size. I like my trail shoes snug, even on long outings. This has been accommodated for by wearing slightly thicker socks, but when I get my next pair (spoiler), I will stay true to size. The wider size definitely allows for more feet to fir the shoe, but certainly something to note when buying before trying.Enough has been written about how beautiful the shoes are, and they are even more striking in person, so I won't delve into that despite affirming the consensus, and stating how refreshing it is for a company to make a performance shoe that doesn't look simply abject. One thing to note is how simple and minimal the shoe really is. There's hardly anything to them, and when I first pulled them out the box, it was sort "is that it?". Pretty remarkable how comfy they are despite how insubstantive they are materially. The things run very smoothly, and are exceptionally comfortable. The midsole is dreamy, and this is by far the best "road to trail" shoe I've ever worn, providing way more comfort on harder pack surfaces than most stiffer trail shoes. With that in mind, some might find the shoe too soft, and I certainly won't be reaching for this come alpine running/scrambling season, as I want something with a little bit less give for edging and scree/talus bashing. The traction truly is incredible, both on wet and loose surfaces and slick rocks, which inspires nothing but confidence. I do find the stack to be a little too high for some super technical descends, for the shoe feels a bit unstable and prone to rolling. This could be a preference thing, but worth noting. They absolutely surf across most surfaces however, and on more runnable trails, they're tough to beat.In terms of durability, so far after 200km of predominately (95%) trail running, there is very little noticeable wear. Tread is in good shape, no nicks or cuts in the Dyneema upper, as you'd expect and hope. Laces are also excellent; maybe my favourite laces ever on a shoe? A small detail, but one that is very noticeable. The one major con of this shoe relates to breathability/drainage/drying. Basically, they do no breathe well at all, they drain an imperceptible amount and they are far and away the slowest drying shoe I have ever owned. If you're in the desert or drier climes, with the exception of ventilation, this is not as big a concern, but I live in the PNW, and these things need very attentive and diligent post-run care if I want to pull them on dry for the next day's outing.I think this has to do with the nature of the beast (namely, Dyneema itself) and less the design, but something to consider. Perhaps some drainage hole could be a smart inclusion for future models. All in all, an excellent and refreshing entry into the world of trail shoes, and one absolutely worth biting the initial bullet for up front. Highly recommend, and I'll be buying another pair when these (eventually!) wear out.

Great shoes for light Winnipeg winter!
19 December 2021

I am comparing these to La Sportiva Blizzards and Salomon Snowpikes. The Norda is just as grippy on ice as these other two carbide studded/spiked shoes. The Norda is more comfortable than the other two, mostly because the Norda does not have a built in ankle "gaiter", and the Dyneema fabric is much thinner. I will use the Norda for runs down to -5 (or -10(ish)) Celsius when the snow is packed down, and continue to use the Blizzards and Snowspikes for colder temperatures and fresh loose snow. I purchased a half size larger than normal so that I can wear thick thermal socks, and this is working out great so far. I had purchased the snowspikes in 2020/2021, and the grip was so fantastic that I purchased the Blizzards and the Nordas this season. I am very happy with all three of these shoes - sooooo much better than running without studs/spikes!

It's a Beautiful Looking Shoe

This shoe is so beautiful looking that it belongs on a fashion runway! The length of the shoe was spot-on for me. The description says it runs short so I purchased a 12.5 and it was ideal but as a point of reference, I also wear a 12.5 in Nike, Adidas and Hoka's whereas I am always a 12 in Salomon. So, is the short short or the same as other popular brands? The shoe has some volume but pulling the laces gave a snug yet comfortable fit. It was a very good fit overall except the ankle collar. It is very wide around with thin material; it is comfortable but despite using the heel-lock lacing method, I could not get a seal and there was always a gap - a perfect place for trail debris to enter. Look great, well built, size up, not sure about heel
11 June 2023

I really wanted to love these shoes. First off, Norda is a Canadian company and the shoe is really good looking. Also, the sole is grippy and firm, yet cushioned due to the thick midsole. However, I am having issues with the heel. There's not a lot support or cushion, and the heel fabric is rubbing causing some irritation. I also bought the Hoka Speedgoat 5's and I definitely prefer the fit and comfort on that shoe just out of the box. Some reviews have mentioned that the Norda's do take a few wears/runs/hikes to loosen up, but that's putting a lot of faith into some unknowable outcome for such an expensive shoe.As far as fit goes, I did order a half size up as recommended and that felt snug, but relatively comfortable
