A great addition to my supplement regime

I shared with him my desire to finally get off of the 75mg of Wellbutrin I had been taking (down from 300MG). I contacted my doctor to let her know this is what I was planning on doing, and I started out by taking 12 mg/day (along with other supplements, a very clean diet, and regular exercise/meditation routine). So far, so good! I can't say for sure that it's just the Astaxanthin that's been helping, because I have many other things I do to help curb anxiety/depression. In the summer, it complements the effect of sunscreens in the fight against harmful UV rays.

If you have not already researched the benefits of astaxanthin and what it is, I have included some of the information I have found: Eye Health The structure of Astaxanthin is similar to lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that have been shown to reduce the risk of nuclear cataracts. But, while similar, Astaxanthin has a stronger antioxidant activity and UV-light protection effect, both of which point to it being an excellent supplement for eye health maintenance. Has been found to have protective benefits against vision problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and many others. Skin Health Astaxanthin has been shown to help improve skin moisture levels, elasticity, and smoothness while reducing wrinkles, freckles, and spots, and helps to prevent and repair sun damage to the skin. Astaxanthin' s antioxidant properties have also been shown to help improve heart heath, cellular health, and the body's immune system. Joint and tendon support can help to reduce pain and inflammation in tendons, joints, and muscles, including osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. Supports increased energy Brain health support, and can cross the blood/brain barrier to protect the brain and nervous system Works in every part of the body, organs and skin Supports a healthy oxidative balance. It does not oxidize after it does its job like many other antioxidants do. Can handle many different types of free radicals simultaneously as most antioxidants can handle one type of free radical at a time and tend to prefer one type. UPDATE 6/29/18: Although I do believe that dietary supplements are necessary to provide the nutrients that our foods, grown in depleted soil, can no longer supply, I don't believe that any supplement is an immediate miracle cure for anything. Most often, the effects, if any, for any supplement is seen in the long-term. I am 71 years old with developing cataracts that are very small at this time, but wanted to halt their development. I have also been having the common reduction of close vision related to aging. My 96 year old mother has a pacemaker that her heart is gradually not responding to as well as it used to. I bought this supplement primarily to help my eyes and my mother's heart. I have been taking this supplement for only 3 days, and, of course, have seen no improvement in the areas that I bought it for. Surprisingly, I am seeing benefits that I didn't expect, especially in such a short time. For quite a while, by the time I get dinner cooked and my mother finished her dinner, I have felt drained. I had to force myself to get everything done to get my mother to bed, and then had no energy left. The last couple of days I have energy after dinner, and have been able to get more done after my mother went to bed without feeling tired or drained. My mother, who has dementia and aphasia, has been staying awake more hours and seems to be more interactive. The only change for both of us has been the addition of this supplement. Now if it can help my eyes and my mother's heart, I will scream praises for this supplement. I'm sure both of these will be long-term effects if they happen.

BUY IT
25 September 2023

I bought this for its natural sunscreen benefits. I did my research and found studies that supported this product. I gave it a test run. This entire summer I did not wear sunscreen (except on my face). I am also a very frequent flier at havasu, the beach, the river you name it. I would say I spent 75% of the summer in the sun on the water. When I tell you I did not burn one day out of the whole summer. I did not peel, my skin was glowing, and I was DARK. I could not believe that it literally is a natural sunscreen. I also got all my friends on this now, and same thing for them, they did not burn, just got dark. This product also has a bunch of other benefits as well including skin elasticity and moisture. I recommend this and continue to take this throughout the winter.

Exceptional Antioxidant: Multiple Health Benefits
1 August 2024

I've bought this supplement multiple times, and it has provided various benefits to different people. It has helped remove floaters in the eyes and reduce short-sightedness by 50 degrees. Additionally, it has made eyes less dry and tired, removed inflammation, sped up wound healing, and restored eyesight when combined with turmeric. The supplement has also given skin a nice glow, repaired skin, and reduced wrinkles. Overall, it offers high benefits and is an excellent antioxidant.

Eye floaters nearly gone!
13 October 2023

I started taking astaxanthin. It's the only supplement I've been taking. I'm 48 years old and have had eye floaters for a few years now. I was told they were permanent. They don't really affect my vision, but I'm pretty aware of them on bright days. I've been taking the astaxanthin for a month maybe. I started taking it because I bruise easily and if I eat carotenoids, I bruise less harshly. Since astaxanthin is a powerful carotenoid, I thought I'd be able to skip eating tomato paste every day. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it's clear skies and sun today. I was working outside and realized my eye floaters were gone. Well, almost. There were a couple of tiny dots that I had to really focus on to see. Before, I had a long line cobwebby one that was very ... MoreI started taking astaxanthin. There were a couple of tiny dots that I had to really focus on to see. Before, I had a long line cobwebby one that was very prominent and it's simply gone! I wasn't expecting that. It later dawned on me that the only thing different was that I've been taking astaxanthin. I'm still in a bit of disbelief. For what my anecdotal testimony is worth, it may be something worth exploring if you have eye floaters too. I can't wait until my next eye exam to see if the doc can verify that I'm not crazy.

For my eyes
3 September 2024

I purchased this for the sake of my eyes. As I've started to experience presbyopia and my eyes have become more easily fatigued, I decided to give it a try. While I was taking it, I felt like my vision might have been slightly clearer. However, after finishing one bottle, the product has been out of stock, and I haven’t taken astaxanthin for over a month now. So far, I haven’t noticed any worsening of my condition, and it feels like my vision has remained stable. It’s possible that the effects I noticed were just a placebo. I think I’ll hold off on taking it for now and see how things go.

Great
3 January 2024

I recently switched to this brand from my usual astaxanthin brand due to unavailability. I'm very happy with it! It is a higher potency of astaxanthin for less cost. It also has simple clean inactive ingredients which is a must for me. I buy other supplements from this brand and I feel it is a good quality with reasonable pricing and it's a brand I trust. Capsules are oval and gel, so easy to swallow. Definitely recommended!

Many Health Benefits!
12 November 2023

Primarily bought this product for improved energy. I noticed an increase in a couple of days. Read about multiple benefits and will replace some of the other supplements I usually take with Astaxanthin. Other benefits includes a boost to immunity (powerful antioxidant), eases inflammation, protects heart and brain (cognitive function), supports healthy vision and it is found in nature. I bought the 10mg as I also read that you need 10-12mg to get the benefits. This product will be a regular in my supplement regimen. I also like NOW products, quality plus great pricing!

Now astaxanthin
23 November 2023

I like everything. sweet good taste, good quality supplement. good ingredients good price, improved brain function. part of my diet. Good size and dosage. I definitely notice some benefits with this composition package age concern no hemp here. just buzz words sorry, This astaxanthin? I notice antioxidant activity, improved and lubrication in eyes and sharper vision, I also notice it blocks my test to dht conversion and so increases free test at first. It helps for sun exposure. I don't use it often anymore because of the dht blocking effect but I still do occasionally. Now astaxanthin is ok but I prefer Bioastin or natural factors honestly. If I remember correctly Now might have an added ingredient that the others do not, carrageenan which upsets my stomach.
