Nuco Coconut Cassava Wraps (5 Pack) 55g

I used these to make hummus wraps and I thought they were very tasty. I’ve also tried the original flavor which I liked, but from my memory it tasted basically the same as these cassava wraps which still have a pretty strong coconut flavor. My only problems with these wraps are that they are too chewy for my teeth and hard to bite into, but I found ways to fix this: 1. Only fold in half, so that it does not overlap any more than two times, 2. If you put on soft filling like hummus and then microwave together, the wraps get softer and easier to eat, or 3. If you microwave just the wrap by itself it gets crispy instead of chewy and is easier to eat and tasty, but it browns quickly so start with very short time and watch it closely if you do this. I also don’t find these filling at all and still feel hungry afterwards and want to eat another snack (same problem with original flavor coconut wraps), so I don’t think this is a good diet food. But just in terms of the flavor it is interesting to try it.

I bought these wraps as an alternative to other ones that contain gluten. The ingredients were minimal and 'clean', and I enjoy the taste of coconut so I thought I would give these a try. The taste is pleasant (the coconut is not too overpowering) and I used it to wrap up my lunch. They are quite strong and durable and did not rip which was good. They are not super pliable but they worked, the size is a little small and not hugely satiating. In comparison to other gluten free wraps I think they are good but not my preferred option. The fat content is a little high for the size and function of them. I would use them occasionally as an accompaniment to my meal.

My favourite new wrap. Not exactly low carb if you are following total carbs. However I like that it doesn't fall apart when I add some heavier ingredients and sauces. I wouldn't say it has a strong taste, fairly plain. But a great conveyor if you are in the mood for a wrap, that isn't a lettuce wrap. I just had mine with mortaella, prosciutto serano ham some dijon and mayo. Delicious!
