Nuun Sport + Caffeine: Electrolyte Drink Tablets, Mango Orange, 8 Tube

They did the trick. We were on one of the most difficult hikes I’ve encountered in over 50 years of off trail backpacking. I still had cramps, but then I’m 72, so expected some. Which is why I purchased them. Drink lots of water. I also purchased a long sleeved T’shirt from REI which helped keep me cooler than cotton and protected my arms from heavy brush (huckleberry plants 8-10’ all growing downhill due to heavy snow load). I came out unscathed, on a three night outing in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness—except for a painful blister and having stepped on a hornet’s ground nest. Great hike though. Great company with my two brothers and my son.

A fan for life

I have been a huge fan of Nuun since I first learned of the company when I moved to Seattle in 2014. I met several people who worked for Nuun, and they were friendly, positive proponents of the company - an attitude I have since found reflected in their helpful online customer service. Besides the company, the product itself is also amazing and completely addicting in the best kind of way. Cheap form of Mg that can cause GI upset

I like that this contains very little sugar and no artificial sweeteners, but it caused GI problems for me. I drank this variety and the lemon/lime one several days in a row before I figured out that this was causing my gut issues. This contains magnesium oxide and when I looked into that, saw that it's a cheap form of Mg that is hard for your body to absorb, and it can cause stomach and gut issues. I'm now trying LMNT electrolytes, which are very expensive but contain Mg malate, which is better absorbed and shouldn't cause GI upset. The raspberry flavor of LMNT that I've tried tastes better than the Nuun flavors that I've had.These tablets seem to take a long time to dissolve, which wasn't really an issue for me. GREAT way to stay hydrated EVERY day!

I have used Nuun Sport over the years -- and it's what "sets well" with my stomach vs. other products. Love that it has 1 gram of sugar and there are no artificial sweeteners. The tablets easily break in half to add to a 16 oz. bottle of water AND dissolve quickly - so no need to stir or shake -- no "chunks" floating around in your water! I add this to my daily water intake EVERY day - one tablet a day - except for those extremely hot humid days, especially with running - then I usually use 2 tablets a day.These simply are an excellent way to stay hydrated, replenishing your body with essential electrolytes for those exercise days, or traveling, or simply everyday life! (And helps boring water taste great!!)

Great for on the go

While my favorite nuun product is the endurance powder, This is a close second. I love the flavor of the strawberry lemonade best. The only thing is it because it’s in tablet form it does take about five minutes to dissolve and be able to drink. So it does take a little bit of pre-planning. However, I love that I can bring it in the car with me and drop it in my water bottle when I’m on the go. I do use these for workouts, but also because I live in South Florida where it’s very hot. Sometimes I’m out in the sun for long periods of time either at the park or on the water, and this really helps me stay hydrated and retain my electrolytes. I noticed a huge difference in my energy level once I started using nuun. These things have really been a lifesaver.

Least favorite electrolyte drink

This flavor is gross to me. They somehow made the texture of my water tangy, even though that's a term I only use for flavor. My friend calls it effervescence, but that makes me expect bubbles, and this had no bubbles. It has a medicinal quality to it, and maybe that's because it's kind of like stale alka seltzer.They lose points for difficult-to-open packaging - if you have arthritis or any kind of hand weakness or dysfunction, you'll likely struggle to open it.The tablet is also not helpful if you're dropping this into a standard water bottle - you'll need to break up the tablet to fit it into the bottle.This was an expensive-for-what-it-is dud.

My personal fav electrolyte mix

Nuun has been my go to exercise electrolyte for many years. I’ve tried other brands but keep coming back to nuun. I find the other brands upset my stomach- I can’t handle excessive sweetness when I run. I dilute mine since I like light flavor and it always leaves me refreshed and never upsets my stomach during my workout. It really makes a difference in my performance. I take some nuun the day before my long runs and bring it with me during the run. I started using nuun after naive me tried to run my first half without an electrolyte strategy. Cue terrible leg cramps. I learned my lesson and have been on top of my electrolytes since. I also love to use a Nuun tablet here and there if I had one too many glasses of wine. I’ve been using Nuun Sport for quite a long time. My primary muuvment is cycling and I ride 600-800 miles per month. Summer’s on the Texas Gulf Coast are hot and humid. Great hydration is essential to my survival, Nuun Sport gets the job done. Since I started using Nuun Sport I’ve never had an issue with cramping or other dehydration related issues. I will normally consume 1.5L to 4L on my training rides depending on the season.I love the huge variety of flavors Nuun Sport has to offer. I am a proud Trans woman, undergoing gender transition, which requires medicine that is very dehydrating. I started using Nuun hydration tablets (kicked it off with lemon-lime and haven't switched since!) after I fainted at work. I didn't feel thirsty, I didn't know I was dehydrated! I was wary of spending extra money on a new product because I usually had to dump out most of my water bottle at the end of the day; it was a chore to finish! But the water with the Nuun tablet went down so easy, I couldn't get enough! It turns out, water without electrolytes can make the electrolytes in the body even MORE imbalanced. So I have a chronic illness called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and basically my blood vessels don’t constrict properly which means my blood pools in my feet and my heart overcompensates by beating really really fast to try to get the blood back up which doesn’t quite work. One of the things that’s really helpful for this is increasing blood volume, which lots of sodium helps with since sodium helps you retain the hydration in your body. Nuun sport helps me so much with keeping up my sodium and hydration intake for my POTS treatment plan! I have a 40 oz bottle and I put in 3 tablets to that one and that’s already almost halfway to my sodium goal!
