I bought this liner in "no wine-ing" to pair with a nude lipstick. The color and the feel is amazing. It takes a bit or work to blend with the lipstick but overall I like it and will continue to use it. However with the first use, the tip broke with very little pressure. I also went to sharpen it and it was difficult even with a sharp blade. I found you have to scratch the plastic coating near the tip just for the liner to catch in the sharpener, which is what I did with a knife (don't recommend to try, but be careful if you do). It didn't sharpen to a point after about 4 passes before it wouldn't sharpen again, but it's still useable. This would be better as a retractable liner, but if it was easier to sharpen, the rating would be higher.

I ended up throwing this product away, which I rarely do. I am a big fan of using something just do get rid of it if you don’t end up enjoying it, but I just can’t with this lip liner. This is the second time I've faced this issue, and I am extremely disappointed with this lip pencil. You can't sharpen it, and it's not self-sharpening either. After just two uses the $15.00 Lip liner was finished. The shell is made of hard plastic. Last time, I tried sharpening it with a pencil sharpener, and it broke my sharpener. I would recommend exfoliating your lips before applying. But then that makes removal painful. It is HARD to get this product off fully. Love this lip liner! I initially tested some swatches on my hand. Once I let it dry for a minute, it wasn’t smudging at all when I ran my finger over it. Very impressive! Unsurprising, it also lasted all day on my lips as well. Not only is the quality great, I also think you can’t beat the price. I have definitely tried the more expensive lip liners and have been less than impressed. I have the color Sassy - it looks much darker on websites than it is in person but I think it’s a great shade for me. I probably wouldn’t have gotten it based on looking at the swatch online but in person it’s light and more brown/mauve. Overall, I would recommend!!

I think the inclusion of the jojoba oil and vitamin e is definitely helpful in that regard. I think that might also play a part in why the texture/consistency of this pencil is so smooth and creamy! It has bold pigmented color pay off right away. After application, it lasts a long time, especially compared to other lip liners. It definitely is more smudge and transfer resistant than other lip liners I have used in the past as well. The shade I chose (#29 NO EQUIVALENT) is flattering and can be used in a variety of ways with different products. It is a brown pencil but shows up on my light skin as a lighter brown, more of a tan shade. I can use it to compliment nude tones, neutral shades and honestly have even experimented and tried using it for full lip color before gloss or balm and the shade looked wonderful. If I try to overline my lips I feel as though depending on the products used, it can make it more obvious that I overlined them. With this particular liner that isn't the case. This can be used for regular lining and overlining nicely. When the pencil initially had it's sharpened point it was easy to draw with precision where I want it. But sadly that didn't last long at all. Maybe 1-2 applications. It went downhill from there. I truly wish this was a twist up/a pencil that didn't need sharpening with a sharpener. Because after the initial perfect point was gone, I was never able to get it nicely pointed again. I had to sharpen this countless times for multiple reasons. I had to sharpen it to try and get a point back (which never came back), had to keep re-sharpening because the tip would fall off or crumble a number of times. Which was absolutely frustrating and disappointing because I really liked the product when it had it's point and I was actually able to use it. But between not being able to get the point back, the pigment part of the liner falling out other times, then crumbling other times what I ended up with was a hand cramp from all the sharpening and a little nub of the pencil left. So the pencil itself did not last long at all. I hope they are somehow able to make a mechanical twist up version of this liner because it really does have a lot of great qualities and great potential!
