NYX Professional Makeup Retractable Lip Liner Plum 0.28 G

These must be my favorite drugstore lip liners. They're retractable, so no product wasted and no sharpening necessary. They are incredibly creamy on the lips, and they last all day. I have two shades, both stunning and wearable every day. The formula reminds me a lot of my Anastasia Beverly Hills lip liner, and the shade match between ABH Dusty Rose and NYX Nude Pink is pretty similar. All in all would recommend, the price point is to dream of and the product is absolutely worth your coin.

(They May still be, but full price is still only about $4-5.) For dates, applying this all over with a clear gloss/chapstick (I’m obsessed with Kopari lip glossy right now, but Fenty in clear/Fu$$y is also great), is the perfect natural lip. If you are someone who wears lots of bold lip colors, or just wants to keep a red lip from running or budging- I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the clear one. It creates a barrier around your lips that will keep color from transferring, and you don’t have to go through the process of shade matching/buying separate liners for every color.

I recently have become obsessed with Maybelline 24 hour stay liquid lipsticks and I needed a red pencil to help out line my lips. I didn’t want to pay a crazy amount for a lip liner and I have always had good luck with NYX. So I grabbed the Ruby color of this lip pencil. I used it to outline my lips for better definition. I wasn’t sure it was going to work with the liquid lip because that lip color doesn’t even let you wear chapstick underneath. But I tried it out and it works great together!

This is the first time I tried NYX’s retractable lip liner. I’m wearing the color Nude which is a pale, almost light salmon color. This glides on beautifully and doesn’t pill as you put it on. It’s also waterproof so it doesn’t bleed either. This particular color works great with any lighter lipsticks or glosses as I’m wearing it. This lip liner is very impressive! It’s creamy, glides across the lips easily, and is still a sturdy formula so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break. I like the automatic aspect to it, making it easy to reapply on the go. Natural is the perfect warm neutral shade that isn’t too light or dark for my skin tone (naturally NC15 but I’m always self tanned to NC30). I think it would work great for fair skin tones up to medium or medium tan. Highly recommend and would definitely fry other shades in the range. It claims to be waterproof which I’m not sure about but it’s long lasting. I like to pair Natural with NYX’s XXL liquid lip in Turn On for a browny warm nude look. This NYX lip pencil helped me with this. Moreover, I own many brown pinks, carnation pinks and neutral pink colors and a few of them need a good base to show up in a neat and even finish on the lips. I am glad to notice that this budget lip liner fulfilled my expectations so well. It is a subtle rosy brown pink liner which makes it universal liner to use with any rosy brown/beige pink I feel.It seems a powdery creamy liner in texture which works great from lining lips or even filling in lips with no tugging/pulling at all. It does not set on my lip lines though I feel it might be tricky for very dry lips with its powdery matte texture. It pairs up very well with my most neutral/beige pinks, even rosy pink and carnation pinks really well without altering their original shade.It did help me to achieve that professional finish on lips with its buttery texture yet matte finish which is good to go alone as well as with any clear gloss or lip color. It smartly conceals minor lip flaws and pigmentation very well; however, I did not notice any difference in wear time of my lip products with this.The wear time of this pencil alone is 3-4 hours with light snacks and meals. It might completely fade away with no stains post lunch/dinner. This also explains how creamy and soft it would be on our lips. I usually fear using lip liners because they often seem to settle on my dry patches and my lips appear more dry than usual, but I need not bother about the same with this lip liner honestly. It smartly forgives dryness and light patchy skin though I feel it’s always better to scrub lips prior to using any lip product.

I recently purchased the lip liner in the shade “Nude” and I love it! It’s the perfect shade for my lips and adds just the right amount of dimension. I can wear this product with many different colors and it looks fantastic. It is natural but elevates my make up to the next level. I love how this product is retractable, and requires no sharpening. The formula is smooth and glides on my lips effortlessly. Will definitely be purchasing again!

It is a cooler shade of the Em Cosmetics Liner in Teddy. The color Natural has been my go-to color when lining my lips these days. Nectar came in this beautiful earthy pink packaging, which I was totally on board with. But upon application the color is baby pink color with a shimmery sheen to it. Totally different than what I was expecting. The consistency of the formula was there, but dang, that color was not it. Going to exchange it for another color cause I really like this formula.

Disappointment

Disappointed. Since a long time popular drug store brand makeup company went out of business that had amazing lipliners, I have been looking for a good retractable lip liner. They are very hard to find for some reason and I was so excited to find it. Finally. The actual product. Not so good. I wanted brown so I tried both. One was Sand Beige and it was way too light and the other, don't have the color handy, was way too dark or strong. Sienna maybe? No in between. The crayon breaks easily and I found that it got cold too. Odd so it broke I guess. I do not live in a freezing cold climate but I keep my makeup in my bag. Wish the lightest brown was maybe a little darker or deeper. It was close but just does not cut it.

Nectar love!

Absolutely hands down the best lipliner. Best color Nectar. Please make many similar shades. The other colors are way too dark, or light, or beige. Would love plum, peach, pink, coral all in the same intensity as the Nectar. For now, I'll just order many of those. Please don't ever discontinue the color!!!! -and could you make a lipstick that matches?
