The Hyperfreak Fire 4/3 is a step up in warmth to its predecessor. I did found that it was slightly less flexible than the Tb3, but living in Tasmania warmth is extremely important. The Hf fire dries faster than the Tb3 which is great for a second surf.All up a beautifully made, functional wetsuit that ticks all the boxes.

It is a subtle yet different colour which I love, but the wetsuit keeps me warm so well and has stretched to fit my body amazingly. I have never felt such little water come into the wetsuit after the surf my body feels dry and warm. Everything about this wetsuit is so amazing couldn't be getting through Winter without it. Would highly recommend.

After wearing numerous O'neills over the years always consistent in size, I was unpleasantly surprised to find this Fire suit is cut what seamed to be a whole size smaller than normal. Literally shorter in arms/legs and narrower in torso/shoulder than previous O'neills I've worn. Having to ship it back was inconvenient and left me out of the water. When I called O'Neill customer service, the representative kept saying she heard the Fire fit a little snug because of materials used, yet had no idea how undersized it really is compared to recent years O'neills. I told her how important it is for wetsuit sizing to be consistent, then she hung up. In my view, providing consistency in product matters, as does customer service.
I have the 3/2 Hyperfreak TB3 and its just a great wetsuit so when the latest TB4 came out I was an easy choice. I was going to purchase a 4/3 but found the new Hyperfreak 3/2 TB4 to flexible and very warm. The first use was at URBNsurf in Melbourne at 14 degrees and it was warm as (I don't feel the cold as much as most though). The advertising Hype was spot on.
Fit and flexibility are great, just like the older/other Hyperfreak wetsuits I have. It does indeed feel like there's minimal rubber around you. Really warm and comfortable. The only thing ... and a minimal thing ... is the neck. When new, it's quite tight and inflexible. The older ones felt like butter, but this one (and the one on my jacket) is a real effort to stretch out over my head. After quite a few surfs it begins to stretch, but still nowhere near as soft and easy to get on as my older ones. My older ones didn't/don't leak so I'm not sure why they've changed? Overall though, a great wetsuit that lasts on top of it's other attributes I listed initially.
I have owned a Hyperfreak steamer before and found it the most flexible wetsuit ever, however it was not as warm as other 3/2 wetsuits I have owned. So I thought I'd try the Hyperfreak Fire. Had it 2 weeks now and have found it to be just as highly flexible as before but now a lot warmer as well. Also the order only took 2 days to arrive and I live on the other side of Australia. Totally stoked
Great wetsuit. Looks good, comfortable fit, easy to get into and out of and toasty warm. I recently tested it on a surf trip to NZ where the water is cool, and spent time riding jet skis accessing waves.Wetsuit kept me warm in the water and from the wind chill. Great product, very satisfied.
I've been a fan of the Hyperfreak for years and to see this new technolgoy in the fire suit take the suit to the next level is pretty cool. Our water temps are 8-14°C usually so very few 4/3mm suits are up to the task. This one rocks. More warmth without compromising comfort or flexibility. Superb, O'Neill. Thank you.
Stayed in the water for hours and did not get cold . They are a tight fit but are very flexable . Arm freedom is very good . I would like to have tape blind stiched and glued at the end of the arms and legs as a good finish to a good wetsuit of this price but this is a minor detail. Over all you pay for what you get in materials .
