Oakley Black Flight Deck L Snow Goggles
Oakley Flight Deck L ski goggles combine a wide, frameless field of view with Oakley lens technologies to give clear, reliable vision on the mountain. The L size provides a generous fit suited to medium to larger faces and to riders who prefer an expansive peripheral view. The toric Prizm lens uses Oakley High Definition Optics to reduce distortion and improve visual acuity. Prizm tuning increases contrast so subtle changes in the snow surface are easier to see in variable light. The lens also offers full UV protection and an anti-fog treatment to help maintain clarity during active use. A glasses compatible OTG design leaves room for most prescription frames without compromising the seal. Three-layer face foam cushions the goggle against the skin and helps create a consistent fit, while a soft fleece next-to-face layer improves comfort against the brow and cheekbones. The strap and trim incorporate recycled polyester, with fleece detailing for a comfortable interface with the helmet and head. The frameless construction is helmet friendly and works well with a wide range of modern ski and snowboard helmets. Overall, the Flight Deck L is appropriate for skiers and snowboarders who want a wide, unobstructed view, reliable contrast enhancement and a comfortable, glasses-compatible fit. It is a practical choice for varied mountain conditions where terrain reading and peripheral vision matter.

One of the top snow goggles ever. I made the switch from the Smith IO Mag and I feel this fit much better and the lens has crisper visibility. I love the sapphire lens color the most as an all day lens, especially when conditions worsen - the amber tint helps on low visibility days. These goggles don’t fog on me, smith helmet compatible and has great peripheral range with the size of the lenses

I recently got another pair of Flight Decks so I feel it is the perfect time to give them a review. These goggles are the best. Super comfortable on my face (I have a large head, XL helmet). Never fog (don't ever wipe the inside). The Oakley prizm technology makes these lenses good in all conditions. The lens can be switched, however it is not as easy as some magnetic frames. But why even bother with that if you can just use one lens. I have this in Prizm Torch Iridium and the Hi Pink lens. The Hi pink is the best lens I have ever used in white out conditions. The Torch Iridium is good for everything else, including snowstorms in a pinch. I hope they never stop making this goggle!

Paired these with a Smith Code helmet and they ended up putting excess pressure on the bridge of my nose which didn't help my breathing. Got fogged while on the lift if I left them on but stayed clear on the runs. Probably not an ideal helmet/goggle combo, at least for me. Maybe if you're riding with just a beanie or an Oakley helmet they would perform better

This is my match made in heaven goggles. The PRIZM lens was so perfectly clear and the large lens gives a nice field of view. The huge plus is that the L size fits over my glasses no problem. Even comes off without trying to take the glasses off too, very comfortable to wear. I don't even notice I'm wearing glasses with these because of how snug it hugs the arms of the glasses. Couldn't be happier! This fits on any face shape even though its a large, unlike other brands where I can only fit a M on my face but the L fitting over goggles would leave gaps around the cheek seal. Recommending to all my friends
These are the worst goggles I have ever used, nothing good about them other than their sleek appearance. It is marked OTG on it, but this is completely deceptive. It will squeeze the glasses and there is no notch reserved for the temples of the glasses. The wearing experience is very bad, not as good as the cheaper GIRO or SMITH OTG goggles. Originally I bought new goggles for myself. Although my family could use it, I still don't want to give it a star.
The Flight Deck was an awesome goggle and I was a big fan of the HI Pink Lenses in the variable lighting conditions I wore them in. The one complaint I had with these was that the white frame was reflective on the lower part of the lens. Swapping to a different color frame prevented this issue, so something to keep in mind when choosing a frame color with these goggles. The L frame provided plenty of visibility in the up/down and side/side fields of view.
I am 15+ years Smith's user (most recent I/Os), and I think I am becoming a huge Oakley fan. The final deciding factor for me was fit, since I think they are very comparable bands. I wanted better peripheral vision goggles and all larger Smith's left a gap at my nose (tried even Asian fit, and I am not Asian). The Oakley's fit like a glove, and have an amazing field of view. I am one of those folks that don't like changing lenses often, so I had 25 VLT lenses on my old pair, and barely changed them, so I had a bit of a concern with the rating of 15 VLT on the Oakley Iridium lens. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of conditions they work well on, which was pretty comparable to my old lens, sun, overcast, afternoon overcast/flat light, up to light snow. I did get the Prizm Rose lens just in case, and the only time I had to use them was on a heavy snowy day (inch or so per hour). Those are great lenses as well, for very large ranges, but you lose the wow factor of the iridium :-). Changing lense is not as easy as some other brands, but after a little practice it's not that bad, but you will need a dry place if you don't want to get prints all over your lens. Prizm technology is great and really improves visibility and definition in flat light, and I can report no issues with fogging (I use them with a Smith helmet, which works really well with the Flight decks L). Overall great goggles.
I purchased these to replace a budget/entry-level set of goggles. These make a huge difference in the contrasts between the snow and sky. I used them today on a partly cloudy day and was amazed at the difference from my old pair. They are also very comfortable and offer an excellent field of view. The only downside is changing a lens is a bit more cumbersome vs. a magnetic lens system.
Pros:1. Looks - The goggles are absolutely gorgeous in the way it looks - I think it looks better than pretty much anything else out there.2. Size - It's very big and your peripheral vision is better than with most goggles. I can't see the frame on the left and right.Cons:1. Asian Fit. They came out with a "universal fit" this year instead of an asian fit and western fit. As an asian, it works, but it's fit is still not quite as good as the original asian fit for an asian around the nose area. Because the goggles are pretty comfortable, if you tighten it up a bit, it does seal well.2. Fog up if you put a mask or balaclava and your breath gets into the vents. In fact the fogging happens in between the outer and inner lens so there's nothing you can do but let the lens dry out normally. Once the lens gets moisture in it, it will continue to fog up requiring you to switch the lens out or wait until it vents out naturally. I think part of the reason for this is that the seal between the lenses allows air in and out. My older pair of goggles has a rubber seal which prevents anything from getting in and out of the dual paned lens.3. Cost/Value - you only get 1 lens with the goggles unlike most of the goggles at this price. So value-wise it's kind of expensive.
Excellent Goggles. Bought to replace an older pair of the same thing, which lasted 9 years of significant use. The field of view is extraordinary, and they are quite comfortable. Prizm Rose is the perfect lens for riding in the cloudy Pacific Northwest; glare reduction is incredible even for a more low light oriented lens like this, so it's still great on bluebird days. Best goggles I've ever owned, happy to have a second pair.
