Very robust, strong and secure case, the ultimate protection for a keyboard synth. And the best protection for air travel. Also very good price. But it is very very heavy, and is obviously meant as a case for band gigs, carried and wheeled by roadies with strong backs! It is way too heavy for the average person to use as an everyday case. In fact, at 21 kg it was over twice the weight of the synth I bought it for! So I returned it and bought a Gator hard case, which was $100 more, but was half the weight. The Odyssey is not recommended as an everyday instrument case.

This review is for the Odyssey 61 key Hard Case. At first, I was put off by the heaviness of this case - it weighs 43 pounds before you put anything else in there. I have a Roland Juno Di and a Roland Ax-Synth and it was my hope that both keyboards could somehow go in to this case together while properly securing both and not have any funky rubbing marks on the keyboards, etc. After playing with the foam pieces (and taking the Velcro off the top foam pieces!) and experimenting with placement - I got both keyboards in there with just the right amount of padding to hold them both in place, isolated from each other. I have enough other equipment that i haul to practices that I do have to stack and load into the back of a Chevy Tahoe - I am tired of wrapping my keyboards in to blankets and carefully placing them on top of the rest of my stuff - and I just bought a Roland FA-06 to take the place of the Juno-Di - so I really want to protect that FA-06 (+ the AxSynth) while driving my keyboards to some parking lot and hauling them to the set-up area. Yes I bought a dolly to haul the keyboard case as those "wheels" aren't going to provide a soft ride or last in harsh environments and besides I have to go up and down steps and I have a subwoofer to haul anyway. I love the snap-back handles on the ends which helps you lift up one end or the other - and the handles always snap back in to their recessed position for protection from traveling.
Great case. Comes with jigsaw foam for a custom fit. Rolls easily. Well worth the money.

First, thanks to delivery guy ,who got it to my porch, it's heavy. However, once the case was atop my Gibraltar Foundation, it became my DJ station. I got it during the recent sale. I like the massive(attack) feel for the samplers and drum machines,and the case promotes artistic sessions. And, with the wheels on it, it does (rock &) roll. A real inspection sticker , too. The inside shape is easily changed with interlocking foam pieces. Pretty cool. So, do you need this case?
This is a nice looking case and does the job protecting the keyboard well but it is very, very heavy.

I play & sing 6-7 days a week and this case is TWICE as strong as my SKB, Gator, or mid-level Anvil cases! It is a little heavier, but It has WHEELS.The ONLY reason I ordered this case is because none of my existing cases would fit the Korg PA1000. Wow, was I ever surprised at the Quality Construction!
