Official Microsoft Chat Headset Xbox One

These are good if you just want a general online experience and don't want quality and amplified sound headphones for that bettered experience! If you just like a general chat and to play a game online for the fun of it then thee are perfect or if you are a beginner this is great! These have clear sound! Although I do have to say I couldn't go back to wearing these after experiencing the online gaming world further with bettered headphones! These give you pains on your head after long periods of use and find you have to keep swapping ears! I'm glad that added the reversible ear piece! These aren't very durable! The wire is very fragile and easily broke! I recommend these to any beginner of if you just need to talk to your friends normally but if you are an ... MoreThese are good if you just want a general online experience and don't want quality and amplified sound headphones for that bettered experience! Excellent user friendly headset

These are for real Microsoft headsets. They work well and I don’t get bad feedback or echoes that I had to deal with when using the super duper aftermarket headphones in multiplayer. They are light weight and eventually will break but they work. My aftermarket headphones costing 6 times as much don’t ever break but I hate using them. I just order a backup set.

Get the protection plan, breaking is when, not if.

The microphone on this WILL fail at some point. Your mileage may vary. It’s set to fail at the design stage. I bought the protection plan after reading other reviews, and I came in need of it within a few months with light useage. Microsoft historically made poor products such as Xbox 360 and Zune, and this headset is no exception. It keeps Microsoft’s proud tradition of being a company with abysmal quality.

Great Sound, But Flimsy

I am a heavy gamer, and own multiple headsets. I always end up defaulting to this headset, since it doesn't take up a lot of space and is convenient to just grab and plug into the controller. I always have 7.1 atmos surround sound, and I like to take advantage of that as much as possible, and a dual ear headset just doesn't have the same sound profile as full room sound. The chat clarity is fantastic on this headset. It's amazing that these sound so good, especially compared to the PS4 chat headsets. I know its two different consoles, but even the PS4 Gold headsets sound about 1/4 the bitrate of these. It's very noticeable on Fortnite with crossplay. I have not ran into a PS4 person with chat quality anywhere near these stock headsets.I'm giving 4 stars because ... MoreI am a heavy gamer, and own multiple headsets. I have not ran into a PS4 person with chat quality anywhere near these stock headsets.I'm giving 4 stars because these are really flimsy, and sometimes are broken right out of the box. There are multiple breaking points. I've had the 3.5mm pin, the wire connecting to the dongle, the wire connecting to the headset all become faulty on multiple sets of these headphones. Still, they are a great value and the best bang for your buck if you're looking for chat only.

Great and simple.

It's basic in a good way and gets the job done. Surprisingly very well crystal clear communication with his headset. I buy one about every 2 years due to me normally dropping it which one drop can ruin it due to a weak wiring connection in the cord but with the warranty it's perfect for someone not needing it to be there product for hearing the actual game play or music.

IMO This Is Best Of The Cheap Chat Audio Only Headsets For Xbox

I recently purchased another one of these official Xbox one chat headsets because the last #2 cheap 3.5mm versions that I bought either fell apart or broke. I received this headset with the purchase of my day one Xbox one and it lasted 2yrs with no issues until I decided to cut it up for parts. Out of the cheapest of the cheap chat headsets this is my favorite. Chat audio sounded good, mute controls etc.. are located at bottom of controller making finding buttons very easy. The ear foam stayed in place and never fell off or apart. Another great feature of this headset is it let's you adjust the headban to the size you need. Also mic audio quality was always reported to sound good and audio from other teammates always sounded good. Only issue is I wish they could ... MoreI recently purchased another one of these official Xbox one chat headsets because the last #2 cheap 3.5mm versions that I bought either fell apart or broke. Mic

Voice chat quality is perfect, sounds like you’re talking to people in person if you’re using this mic in Xbox Party chat. Big convenient mute/volume buttons sit at the bottom of your controller when plugged in. Oddly great for how cheap it is. If you’re buying this for the sole purpose of using in Xbox party then this is definitely your best option. If you want a headset for hearing game audio through it then stay far away from this. That being said, this is the only mic I use for Xbox, I use speakers for game audio. Depends how serious you are with gaming I guess

No real complaints

It’s a decent product for the price, though for me FAR too easy to forget you have yourself on mute or to accidentally mute yourself. The wire can get annoying when you have pets that like to get in your lap, but honestly that’s saying nothing regarding the product itself. When you need a backup, this is definitely the product to use! Don’t have to worry about wearing full headphones, easy to hear your party with … There’s no issue with the product itself, it just depends on your preferences and what you intend to use the headset for ultimately.

Product does not allow game play to be heard through headset

Very delivery was super fast but unfortunately this headset does not allow you to hear game play despite the description stating you can hear game play! So if you do not mind not hearing game play and all you want is to chat to and hear friends while playing then these will be fine for you. I believe the item description is incorrect and the section that states you can hear game play needs removing. Description needs to state you can hear & communicate with friends but that no game play can be heard. This way customers who want to hear game play while also chatting to friends will not purchase these. We returned these to Very immediately & are awaiting a refund. We have now purchased some basic in-ear phones with mic.

Review of MICROSOFT Xbox One Chat Headset - Black

Good Points: Brilliant, does what it says on the tin, headset is adjustable sound is clear. Thought I’d have to spend more for this kind of quality it’s all I need and does the job perfectly.Improvement Points: Maybe have it so the mic can rotate all the way around so it can be left ear or right eared. I prefer being left eared but this headset is only right eared.
