OGX Orchid Oil Conditioner - 385ml

OGX is one of my favorite brands of all times. I like to try their shampoos and conditioners and see what they do for my hair, this time I'm trying this fade-defiying Orchid Oil shampoo and Conditioner because I just died my hair and want it to see if it fades the same or not. To start the scent is amazing very aromatic, fresh orchids with a bit of citrus. Conditioner is very creammy, been using it for about 2 weeks and like the results my hair color is very alive , if you have a dyed-hair, this shampoo and Conditioner is perfect for you, it will slow premature fading and protect your color, you will enjoy it. I am very underwhelmed by this product. I got it at Walmart right after bleaching my hair and realizing I need a colour protecting shampoo and conditioner. I got this one. Hate it. Got a more expensive one instead. But anyway, this one I don't find that it does anything for me. The salon ones might be more expensive but you also don't need as much product with the salon brands. Skip this one despite it being a good price. It left my hair still feeling dry. What kinda conditioner is this?

I used this for 3 days and noticed a difference! I color my hair red at home, and my hair fades fast, I've restocked this line twice in 2 months and color has yet to change! Note that I let conditioner rest for at least 3 min. my hair loves moisture, any conditioner under 3 min will do nothing for my strands. I think this trick really gives the product a chance to work. This line of products has not only kept my color longer, it has improved shine, strength, and workability. I would highly recommend using the shampoo, conditioner, and oil together for maximum performance!

I mainly bought this product because I fell IN LOVE with the scent, and thought the colour protection would be an added bonus. I normally really dislike synthetic floral scents, but I find this to smell unlike other florals and it is very captivating! Despite this, I did not find that it did much for my coloured hair (note: I use Ion dyes from Sally's Beauty Supply rather than regular box dyes). I also find OGX products a bit expensive compared to other options on the market, but every budget is different. I still really like this brand and especially this scent! Even if I'm not washing my hair that day, I sometimes put a bit of this conditioner in to liven up my hair and make it smell really nice!

I bought this OGX conditioner first when I started using this brand because I love the smell of orchids. After I washed with this and the matching shampoo I was constantly itching. My scalp felt so dry and irritated. I stopped using it and moved to another product in the brand and stopped having issues. It was a bummer because this smells amazing. Now it sits in my guest bathroom for anyone to use if they need.

Disappointment in a bottle

I had really high hopes for this conditioner because I know the brand is good. I have thick, long hair that I recently dyed red and was looking for a shampoo+conditioner set to keep my color vibrant. This condition simply does not condition at all. It doesn't make my hair soft, in fact, I was left with a dry, tangled mess at the end of my shower, that I just had to use another non-color safe conditioner in order to get my hair to detangle. Don't buy this, it really doesn't work.

Overwhelming amount of fragrance

I ordered this online because i wanted something safe for colored hair. I never got around to using it because it contains way too much perfume! I'm highly sensitive/allergic to fragrance. I returned Orchid Oil and bought my standard Biotin & Collagen. I also use The Keratin line. Those lines aren't overwhelming to the senses.Can you please make a color safe line without fragrance?

Repairs and smells great.

I bought this product a month ago because I was getting blisters on my scalp from sulfate in shampoos and conditioners. A hairdresser put bleach over bleach and fried my hair and this conditioner helps keep my hair soft and smooth and healthy. Not much product is needed as adding water helps spread the product throughout the hair unlike cheaper shampoos.Also it smells amazing. And it keeps my crazy coloured hair bright. After 4 washes I didn't notice any fading.

What happened!?

My husband is laughing at me because I am absolutely devastated that my HG conditioner has changed! I'm lost in life now. What am I going to do!?!?! The old version was amazing. I used the newer one today and I noticed right away it was off. Smelled like strawberry yogurt and left my hair dry and flat and no longer shiny and bouncy. I'm so disappointed. I went to my local target to see if any old ones were left. But nope! The newer bottles have a code ending in "US". I am praying OGX reverses this! Terrible!

Works with semi-permanent color!

Many conditioners are hard on semi-permanent fashion colors. That is to say for most colors you will get color bleed the first few washes even with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. For Splat! Midnight Indigo this conditioner is well behaved and will not cause color to drip out after those first few washes. It also seems to prevent fading in the sun, even though developlus (Splat!'s manufacturer) says this color isn't supposed to.[/br]I have long hair down to my beard in front and below my shoulders in back. This conditioner is not strong enough to detangle this when used as a rinse-out conditioner. This conditioner burns my eyes, so I keep them shut while using and until it's dry. Because of the eye thing, I'm afraid if I let it out of my ponytail and let my jeweltone blue flag fly though.I used to work in an orchid greenhouse. It does indeed smell like orchid plants.
