As a first time user of Oil Garden, I am very impressed with the quality of their products. Juniper berry is one of the many oils I recently purchased. Mixed with orange and lavender in an oil burner, it's scent is deliciously sweet and uplifting. Perfect to freshen up a living room or kitchen. It has quickly become one of my second favourite uses of juniper berry!
I love this in a foot bath with epsom salts, so cleansing and refreshing!
For therapeutic purposes such as massage oil blends, I prefer to use organic juniper berry essential oil for its purifying benefits. If I want to use juniper berry essential oil for household cleaning recipes (it is a natural antiseptic), or for vaporising or diffusing, then I use juniper berry that is not organic.Oil Garden describes their juniper berry as having a sweet, fresh aroma with a woody undertone. My bottle of Oil Garden juniper berry had a woody scent, but there was no hint of sweetness in it. When I diffused the juniper berry in my ultrasonic diffuser, I could not smell anything, even though I was sitting next to it. I ended up using most of the juniper berry for household cleaning.
100%Juniper oil has astringent, stimulative, tonic and antiseptic properties. As such, I use it many different ways.Hair tonic/massage oil: Juniper oil + Basil oil + Cedarwood (as I have them at the moment and they mix well together). I place them in an upcycled dropper bottle (I save one that I empty for DIYs such as this one), and then add 3 drops along each part massaging it in...doing this to cover the scalp. Then I sleep with it overnight and shower/wash in the morning.
