Okuma Azores XP ZXP-4000H High Speed Spinning Reel
The Azores family of reels feature dual anti-reverse systems. The one-way clutch bearing is joined by a ratcheting anti-reverse that is molded into the bottom of the rotor separating the Azores from its competition. The Mechanical Stabilization System keeps all key components aligned. The 6mm stainless steel spool shaft is surrounded by an 8mm brass spool shaft sleeve that dramatically increases stability of the spool and drag system alignment when fished under the Azores maximum family drag output of up to 44lbs of pressure.

When I ordered this reel the first time, it was not running very smoothly. I suspect one or more of the corrosian resistant bearings is not running freely. On the second reel I ordered, the issue was much less pronounced, however, you can still feel that this reel does not run as smooth as a Daiwa BG or a Okuma Inspira. The rest of the build is however superb compared to everythink I have seen in this price range. It is similarely priced as a Daiwa BG but feels much better built without unecessary decoration plastic parts. The handle on the 4000 series is nice and small and works great for fishing after trout and lax. It is not too heavy but feels much more robust than those plastic/carbon fibre reels that wheigh 100g less. The drag is incredibly strong. But you can also set it to a reasonably light setting to land a 500g trout easily. On my Penn reels, similarely strong drags feel much less nimble at these light settings. It had a Penn Spinnfisher iv 4500 but this Okuma Azores 4000 is much more versatile and better value for money in my optinion. Especially the drag and the build quality are what make this reel great.
