Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother 100 ml

I do love the way this makes my hair feel! I have coarse, curly hair and I use this product whether I wear my hair natural or straight. It does a great job keeping down the frizz and helping my hair look shiny. I only have two complaints about this product - one is that I don't recommend mixing it with another product before putting it in your hair, because it gets weirdly chunky. Definitely put one in after the other. The other problem is that the packaging is TERRIBLE. it's such a thick cream that it's so hard to get the right amount out of the bottle. You always either get waaaay too much, or you're shaking it for ten minutes trying to get anything. Storing this bottle upside down is a must, which is annoying because it tips over easily.

Causes excess hair shedding/loss

Look, I like this product...it smooths/protects hair during any heat styling (yet I don't heat style much-once a month tops), and it's pretty good at handling frizz when air drying, and I'd use this product more BUT it causes excess hair shedding/loss. Make sure you use just a tiny bit; depending on hair length, adjust accordingly. My hair is a medium texture, very dense and goes to about my breasts; I can use about a dime size and that is plenty. The first time I used Olaplex products I overused them and my hair was super greasy. You only need a little bit; it's extremely concentrated so you know its effective and it will last you a long time. I have naturally curly hair and choose to avoid heat as much as I can; I tend to do braids overnight and take them out in the am for hair styling and stick to natural hairstyles. I typically get trims every six months also. No.6 allows me to go longer between cuts and seals in any breakage I have; after using, it's like I have new hair. My hair feels smooth, is less frizzy and smells incredible. No.6 smells heavenly; it reminds me of pine and camping and I especially love using it during the winter time because of its incredible scent. Olaplex No.6 will always be a staple in my hair styling products drawer. I purchased this at Nordstorm; thank you Olaplex and Nordstrom!

Great product. Use every time

Great product. Use every time I get out of the shower after washing my hair. I was doubtful about the hype around Olaplex given the price but after using a trial of the 3,4,5,8 I was sold. The difference I saw immediately after washing my hair the first time was insane. I have thick, frizzy, baby fine hair and live where it’s very humid (south FL). My hair has done what it wants my entire life. I used to blow dry my hair with a round brush section by section and then use a flat iron only to have it frizzy again when I went outside. I kind of gave up because the time to fix my hair was wasted. Now I look forward to washing my hair and fixing it. I use the 0 and 3 before getting in the shower (leaving on 10 min+), wash with 4, condition with 5. after my hair is less ... MoreGreat product. It works! But oh the smell...

I bought this after searching for a hair product that could repair the ends of my damaged, dull and frizzy colored hair. My natural hair is dark brown and coarse but I routinely get it dyed. After using Olaplex No 6 in conjunction with Amika bond protect shampoo and conditioner for several weeks, I can say that Olaplex No. 6 has saved my hair, allowing me to live out my ash blonde/silver hair fantasies in real life. My hair is now shiny, smooth and bouncy after blow drying and it lasts for 2-3 days. The only complaint I have is the product makes my hair smell like it went clubbing and chain smoked a pack of cigarettes. While that was fun for me a few years ago, it's not my scene now and I would prefer if my hair didn't smell like smoke. Not for extensions!!!

I have been wearing extensions for some time and decided to up the game and treat my hair to Olaplex. Big big mistake! The product is way too rich for hair extensions and it has completely dried them out! I had a lovely 20 inch, double drawn balayage hair extensions fitted in April 2022 and bought this kit in May.l (then repurchased when I was out). By September I have left 18 inch and dry as the Sahara. If you have hair extension please stay away! I’m not even close to the 12 month mark with my extensions and I’ll need to get new ones because my hair looks terrible. All that money down the drain, no pun intended. One use and Wow!

Recently highlighted my curly hair ( highlighted decades ago so aware what might happen to hair ). Those that highlight, know at times the process is drying to the hair. I have curly color treated hair (and blow out at times) with more possibilities for drying challenges, so lots of conditioning required. Days after my highlights, I used my usual WEN and added Olaplex number 6, as the leave in conditioner ( as instructed for an angle bob cut to chin length). Allowed my hair to air dry throughout the afternoon, once dried, WOW!!! My highlights were SO SO Soft! Because the instructions advise to use mid level of hair to ends, I used my usual Tweaked product for the hair closer to scalp. I know it’s hard to justify buying Olaplex or any product that cost more then the average. This product is %100 worth it. I have fine oily hair that gets damaged at the ends as I am a blonde so I use this as a leave in treatment. I usually get two to three days between washes thanks to the holy grail of dry shampoos the one by redkin in the pink can. Anyway the night before I wash my hair I lather this through then comb it an hour before going to bed. Let me tell you the absolute difference in my hair as I use the Olaplex shampoos and conditioner as well has been life changing. My hair is so much softer and easier to style it doesn’t have that brittle crunchy feel. It took about a month for me to really see results and I was getting compliments. Also I have oily hair and the shampoo and conditioner from Olaplex doesn’t make it any more oily so I switched to it. I also now add in the purple shampoo they have. My hairs under my ears in a bob I dry it with my daughters Dyson then just put a few loose curls on the top layer and around the face leaving the ends out just to give my hair texture (ps. The new ghd is amazing I think it’s called ghd platnium I got the white, when they say you only have to go over your hair once they mean it. I tried using it as a straightener the other day for something different my hairs medium and I only had to go over each section once. It’s amazing. I will say just in this side note it’s not as long in length as the older versions so if you have really long hair maybe look in store first. If you are skilled in using a straightner you will be ok it’s just I noticed straight away how much shorter it was, but for me it’s great as I have a bob.) ok back to Olaplex it is a system and they do recommend using the system together, but as I have oily hair this is just not a product I’d put in then my mousse and style my hair as it’s oily. If you have thicker or course hair or very damaged hair that doesn’t get oily this is your product. Hope this review helps someone and remember when buying hair care products for yourself think like me this is a form of self care. Hair means a lot to a lot of people and you feel good when it looks good.
