I used the Olay Regenerist Retinol Night Cream in conjunction with the Retinol Serum in the same range. At first I was a little wary about using retinol on my face, as my skin can be sensitive at times. However, even though I used it regularly as recommended during Summer, I did not get any reaction to it. I did wear SPF sunscreen during the day, but even with frequent periods of time outdoors, there was still no reaction ! The cream is lightweight to apply and did not feel heavy on my skin. This is my second brand of a Retinol product and probably my last! This stuff is amazing. I've only used it for a few days, but it feels so good on my skin. I used to be oily but as I have gotten older, my skin is combination to dry. My face soaks this up like it's thirsty, I'm not oily with it at all.I have not seen any evidence of any dryness or irritation of sorts. I saw this has a bad review and wanted to write that the bad review is not entirely the products fault but possible the users. Retinol is a product that will irritate and dry out the skin. Do you research before using this and decide what’s best for your skin. I have sensitive skin and knew it would take me time to build up a tolerance to retinols especially being a newb. I personally started with a few days in between then increases, if my skin got irradiated I backed down. Now I can apply almost nightly, if there is irritation back off, listen to your skin. I can tell you though, retinol when used correctly, can really provide positive results! Don’t let the previous negative review deter you too much and do your research, best of luck on your skin journey!

I received this as a free trial from PINCHme, this does not effect my honest review. Wow! I’ve used a few retinol products in the past and they’ve all been quite abrasive and drying. This is the opposite, it’s genius to have a moisturizer with the retinol treatment. In just a month I’ve noticed smoother skin, healing of breakouts, and even lessened appearance of crows feet. Now the first couple weeks did cause some purging which resulted in some ugly acne (I’ve been fighting cystic acne for over 10 yrs now so this was expected). For this reason I used 2x a week in the beginning and then moved to 3x (with intense hydrating mask nights in between). I wake up in the morning with white flakes and every speck of dust and dog hair in the room clinging to my skin. My skin literally started shedding a powder-like substance off of my face after about 1 week of using Olay Regenerist Retinol24 %26 Peptide Night Moisturizer. I came to the realization that it was my skin actually shedding an entire dead surface that I know now was brought on by this Retinol Olay product. I have 3 deep wrinkles on my forehead now that I haven't noticed before. It's been over 1 week of stopping the retinol24 cream and putting a gentle moisterizer on my forehead (not Olay moisterizer). The flakiness has stopped but the 3 new deep wrinkle lines have stayed on my forehead. Given all the bad reviews I now see of retinol in general found on other websites, I'm shocked retinol is still being sold as a "beauty" product. I now do not trust Olay products.

Because it's in a jar and any active ingredient that is exposed to light/air will begin to degrade immediately once you open the jar. This is the case for all active ingredients, which include Retinol, Vitamins C & E, alpha hydroxy acid, etc. Just look on Beautypedia.com to get an explanation of the science of active ingredients. While you're there, look up "Best Products" by type and you will find drugstore skincare products (including Retinol creams) that are stable and worth your money. Always buy skincare products that have active ingredients in a tube or a pump packaging, never in a jar (unless it's a Drunk Elephant jar that is actually a pump). I received an Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 + Peptide Night Face Moisturizer from Pinchme in exchange for my honest review. This night cream works well to Hydrate and moisturize the skin. The retinol for anti aging benefits was well tolerated by my skin. No stinging or burning. I did use a hyaluronic acid serum prior to this for additional moisture. The moisturizer has a slight fragrance but it disappears once the product is absorbed. The product absorbs easily into skin with no greasy residue or heavy feeling. My skin feels soft but I can't say for sure yet if I see any anti aging benefits. I would recommend this product if you're looking for a night retinol product. Ease into use if you're worried about it being too drying or if it stings.
