I bought these sandals because I needed a simple yet good quality pair of sandals for the beach and basically anytime my feet would probably get wet.I’ve been a proud owner of a pair of Mea Olas as well for almost 11 years! And there were a few times where I got caught in a storm and they got soaked! So needless to say, they’re a little broken in. And leather and water just don’t mix well together. Despite all that, they’re still in decent shape.So the Hokuas were definitely a great addition to my Olu Kai collection! Super comfortable, can walk all day in them. The tread is really good and durable, as expected from any pair of Olu Kai.

Just received these flip flops...phenomenally comfortable. Was convinced to consider them by my wife who is a long-time OluKai flip flop wearer. While it can be difficult to justify spending too much on a shoe you wear to the beach or lake, you shouldn't look at these as just flip flops. They're more comfortable than many of my casual shoes. I've tried other structured flip flops (Ecco) and found them comfortable, but very stiff and impossible to break in particularly with the strap that had no flex, causing discomfort on the top of the foot. That is not the case for these. I’m extremely flat footed and these were rated #1 on three different “Top 10 best sandals for flat footed men” lists (that were NOT sponsored) on Google. It didn’t make sense to me that a sandal with a high arch support was great for someone flat footed, but like I said, they were rated #1 so I ordered them anyway. At first, they took a little getting used to with the arch support. However, after a couple days of wearing them on vacation I’ve decided I love them! If you are flat footed, then these are for YOU! I wear a men’s size 12 in Nike and similar tennis shoe brands so that’s the size I ordered these in and they fit perfect. I purchased the black/dark shadow sandals and they are about 95% black with a little bit of dark gray.
I don’t know the exact name of the sandal I ordered but they were white on the side of the flip flop. I ordered them because it was my 40th birthday because we hate a white theme party. The flops you sent me were grey. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to get a new pair before I left for my trip and had to wear them anyway. I have just bought these flip flops at Nordstrom with their amazing anniversary sale going on. I really want to say these are the best flip flops I ever owned, and maybe I eventually will. But for now it is tough to say. They are comfortable and provide great support. The material quality and durability appear to be the best I’ve ever seen in a flip flop. The only iffy thing is the weight. They are heavy. I’m assuming/hoping I’ll get used to it, but if not they are still comfortable enough and make for a great fancy pair of flip flops when fancy is desired. Or if needing more grip like hiking or on trails (but I do have sneakers for those applications).As for sizing, I’ve heard go up one and also heard go down one for these. I usually go up one in flip flops, but these at stayed at my normal 10 shoe size. My right heal is right near the edge (it’s my bigger foot) but not over it and it feels perfectly fine. The bigger size felt too loose (bigger at the straps) and heavier. Since these are so heavy it felt like they were sliding as I walked. Just something to keep in mind.
Was thrilled to find this model of Olukai's, as I had pair for close to 10 years that finally had to retired! Great price, great delivery.A note on fit. I have a wide foot and needed to go up to full size. I'm usually a 9 wide shoe and the 10 fit across my instep very comfortably.
I purchased these OluKai flip flops week before we left for the beach. I know it was last minute but the customer service was able to get these out quickly and they arrive a couple of days before leaving for the beach! I can't say enough about how comfortable they are and by far the best flip flops I've ever had for the beach. Thanks for the flip flops and excellent Customer Service! I will definitely buy again!
Extremely comfortable and nice looking sandal. My only reservation is that for my foot at least they are a little loose between the strap and upper foot. Apart from that they are great to wear and seem very well made. Definitely pleased with my purchase. Thanks.
Perfect fit flip flop that appears stylish without being feminine. It arrived a few days before the stated delivery date and my husband, who is very picky, said they were comfortable to wear right out of the box. We are now truly an OluKai family as I own a couple pairs of the flip flops myself. Looking to try the Men’s tennis shoes next!!
