OluKai Mea Ola Men's Sandals Dark Java 8

First, any OluKai sandals I own are great, they feel great, and they look cool. Second, I’m usually wearing them with casual clothing. Not your choice of footwear when you’re dressing up a bit. That’s where the Mea Ola sandals come in. Beautifully made with leather and cool design features, these sandals will complement your stepped up outfit.

First - This is a company in Hawaii, I would have preferred if they made them in Hawaii and not China. The sandal appears well made - it's heavier than your regular flip flop, and the thong portion has a tendency to rub your foot a bit when you start to wear them. This is due to the weaved leather it is made of - hopefully over time this smooths out and the leather becomes a bit more supple. I would not depend on walking long distances in them because this could raise a blister. The sole looks like a walking shoe sole and that adds to some of the heft to the sandal. Overall, they look really nice. I love the footbed pattern etched in and it looks like a sandal you would wear out to a cocktail party or with a nice summer outfit for a party. I would use a cheaper sandal for the beach, even though they are called a beach sandal. I doubt the leather would hold up well to salt water. So get them if you want that upscale look, but don't wear them if you need to be on your feet any length of time or you will be walking alot. At least not until they are broken in and you can decyotpo_ide how your feet will feel in them after a long walk. The arched footbed is great - I love that - and I look forward to how this holds up after a few months of wear.

I needed sandals but have never been a flip flop guy. I ordered the OluKai Mea Ola flip flops because they are leather and very good looking. Right out of the box, these felt like they were made for my feet. Soft comfortable leather, an anatomical footbed and great tread pattern make them so comfortable, I wear them every day. I can comfortably take walks downtown with no discomfort. These are the most comfortable sandals that I have ever worn.
