Feel luxurious support every step of the way in the On Cloudrunner. This stylish shoe gives you a light and cushioned ride that encourages you to go that extra mile. The foam in this shoe cradles your foot and, when combined with the foam around the heel collar and plush tongue, gives it a comfortable feel from your very first step. The CloudTec cushioning and ultra-light zero-gravity foam absorbs both the vertical and horizontal impact of every foot strike, making the ground feel soft as you run. Onrsquos signature Speedboard gives you the responsiveness and energy return to propel you forward. The wider bottom unit and cradle-shape construction support you throughout your stride and help you run further. It also provides a bit of stability for those with flexible arches or who overpronate. The Swiss-engineered upper is both supportive and breathable. Soft to the touch with plenty of ventilation, the Cloudrunner stays comfortable throughout your runs. ldquoThe Cloudrunner is soft and stable enough for longer runs, but light and responsive enough to get some tempo work in,rdquo one tester said in our On Cloudrunner review. Defy gravity in the On Cloudrunner.

Cushioned heels and happy feet at work
8 September 2022Standing at work

Excellent cushion through the heel; does indeed feel more cushion than other shoes! Sparse through the toes and forefoot. This shoe was perfect for me as a narrow foot person who wanted lots of heel and mid-foot cushion for standing at work all day. My heels feel much better and I can shift my weight a little and feel the cushion massage. I think with my running stance landing more on the front of the foot, I would want more cushion there (if I was to wear these running). For trail running in particular, I would want a stiffer sole and more insulation at the front.

Good cushion and support

These shoes are perhaps the best shoes in the On Cloud collection. They have good stability system in the medial section of the shoes. Balance cushioning so that the heel does not sink on the shoes. The rocker for quick start is not very aggressive. The heel to toe drip does not seems crazy. Over all I like the fit and ride of the shoes. The upper is high quality with good lacking system and tongue. The outsoles seems good and this version has been cleaned up to avoid small stones to stuck in the cloud pod empty spaces. The shoe is not narrow and gives a nice and stable fit lots of space in the tie box area.

Good on treadmill but tore holes in 5 months

Like other Reviews, I experienced a torn toe on both shoes after less than 6 months of wear. I have abused many other $40-$75 shoes for years without damage other than just running out of rubber on the soles. I thought splurging on $150 shoes would worth the price but I can't say that it is for these. I have submitted a warranty claim on their website and will try to return them to REI if that doesn't work - I will update my review once I hear back.As for the comfort, these felt great running on a treadmill but I found them pretty firm and unstable on pavement or dirt. You could feel every bump and the heel rides a little high so I have had many almost turned ankles. Great bounce on the treadmill though.

Great comfort but not durable
3 May 2023

The most comfortable shoes I ever owned, but unfortunately not durable around toecap area. Both shoes started to fall apart after three months of light usage. REI customer service was great, after examining the shoes and agreeing that it was lightly used they took them back. The shoes looked brand new except both started to have a hole around toecaps. I miss the comfort of them, ended up buying ASICS Gel, good shoes but not as comfortable as On Cloudrunner. I had two more On shoes as well, they are not as light and comfortable as Cloudrunner, I hope they fix the problem with its durability for the next year model.

Not good shoes and REI’s warranty policies

Stay away from On shoes, especially this line of shoes. Although advertised as the shoes with a lifespan of 100k miles, it torn after just over a year of low-intensity use. I wear this shoe about 2 times per week and only for casual walking and not for jogging because I have chronic pain in my left knee. And that's also the reason I chose to buy this shoe because I saw the advertisement as the most comfortable shoe. More than that, I have already recommended this brand to my wife and family. I have 2 pairs and my wife has 4 pairs of On. As you can see, The price of 1 pair of On shoes is not cheap compared to other sports shoe brands. However, the quality is disappointing. I have more than 10 pairs of other brands and none of them have had the same issue even though some I have used for more than 3 years. I checked the On Shoe's warranty and found out that these shoes come with a lifespan warranty except “defects due to the wrong fit, normal wear and tear”, so I'm not sure if they will take care for my case. From there, another problem arose. On only warranties shoes are purchased directly from their website, so On shoes purchased from other stores they are not responsible for. I went to the REI store in Olympia to ask about the warranty for my shoes but REI refused because their policy is to only guarantee products purchased within 1 year. So even if the product you buy has a lifetime warranty, REI is only responsible for 1-year warranty. If so, why should I buy from REI when I can buy the products for the same price elsewhere with better warranties? So I decided not to buy On and REI products anymore. Moreover, As you can see in the pictures, my wife's shoes are also damaged even with occasional use for daily activities. On need to improve on their product quality.

Not worth the hype
4 April 2023

These are my second pair of ON sneakers. First pair I bought started to fall apart at less than 1 year after day of purchase. These ones are falling apart after less than 7 months, the inner lining and padding in the heel are already torn apart. I am not precisely the most avid and active runner. Certainly, there is no reason for these sneakers to fall apart so fast. Definitely, the materials used are of extremely low quality. I went to my nearest REI store (NYC), I was told that this is normal wear and tear. Thus, I was not entitled to any kind of refund. Clearly, REI is responsible and should be held accountable for selling a subpar product. We the members deserve better.

OnCloud/REI disappointment.

Not sure if I'm more disappointed with my shoes becoming defective after only 5 months of use, or the way my attempt to exchange at REI retailer was handled. Both of my cloud runners suddenly have a hole on the side after 5 months of use, went into REI retailer to get exchanged, I talked to the footwear associates and they told me my shoes should be replaced, and got me a new pair.Went to the register and the cashier said "I can't return these because defect is from wear and tear, after 5 months." I am a member of the REI program that guarantees returns for defective items after a year, and returns are the only reason why I have the account.Stop selling defective prone products when you know your return policy wont cover.Just another disappointing customer ... MoreNot sure if I'm more disappointed with my shoes becoming defective after only 5 months of use, or the way my attempt to exchange at REI retailer was handled. Both of my cloud runners suddenly have a hole on the side after 5 months of use, went into REI retailer to get exchanged, I talked to the footwear associates and they told me my shoes should be replaced, and got me a new pair.Went to the register and the cashier said "I can't return these because defect is from wear and tear, after 5 months." Paid $140 for my feet to hurt
3 November 2022

Very disappointed with this shoe. When I went to the Chicago Lincoln Park store and mentioned to the associate that I’d be running in the New Balance Fresh Foams for the past 10 years, these Swiss shoes were recommended. Initially seemed like a great fit and quite comfortable but after running a handful of times in them, my feet have continued to hurt. I’ve never had issues with my feet before whether running in Fresh Foams or even barefoot for that matter. I feel like I was taken for paying $140 and will be going back to the Fresh Foams which are considerably cheaper.

Questionable quality

Disappointed with the quality of the upper part of the shoe, with plenty of life left a tear appeared on the side. I used these occasionally for walking and running for less than a year and as a travel shoe before the hole appeared. Looking at reviews online I am not the only one who has experienced this so I cannot recommend these shoes and question similar styles by the same brand.I attempted to bring this to the attention of REI at a store and they considered this normal wear and tear, they were not interested in collecting any information and would not exchange or refund these shoes. Worth every penny.

These are as amazing as I’d hoped. They do fit a bit narrow, so if you have wide feet these might not be for you. They are very comfortable. I haven’t used them for running yet, but walking around all day for work, they have been amazing right out of the box. Great ventilation, which is why I got them, really shows up with even a mild breeze. Got caught in the rain in the morning, totally soaked, were almost totally dry by the end of the day.Super comfortable, great ventilation, incredible cushioning. Highly recommended.
