05/12/2022Long time OnePlus User. Bought a OnePlus 9 Pro in November 2021.Really disappointed in this one after just 1 year of use. Upgraded from OnePlus 6T because I wanted to stream mobile games and have better camera functionality. Overheats a good deal and crashes games. 60fps video recording is stuttering and lags, making the videos totally useless for reels and vlogs. Will be switching to Pixel next year as my friend switched from OnePlus 5 to Pixel 6 and he's very happy with the camera & phone functionality. Probably will get the Pixel 7 pro once the price comes down a bit.Colour OS is not particularly great either.

Oneplus phones offer some of the best phones on the market. Excellent processor, a super smooth 120hz display, tons of RAM and onboard storage, and fast charging all at a great price. I've had this phone for 3 years and it's still extremely fast. The only complaint I have would be camera quality. I think the hardware is good but their camera software could be improved. For the price, there isn't a better phone on the market.

If for nothing else but for the camera only, I would still recommend one to anyone wanting a powerhouse if a phone for little money compared to other makes.
Item works great! My one complaint (and I bought two so my wife confirmed it with hers) the battery life of both of them is not that great. Same usage as my prior phone and it will be down to 20% well before the end of day. The device had no flaws, perfect looking screen, functioning GSM radio, great voice quality on calls. Really my only complaint is the battery doesn't last as long as it did on my older/slower phone.
I was a huge OnePlus fanboy because of how great the 6t was, that phone made a great impression and when it was time to get a new phone I decided to be loyal to the brand. Big mistake.Not a great phone. Loved my oneplus 6t for 4 years, but I "upgraded" to the 9pro about 4 months ago and it's been a disappointing experience. The phone is used in Manhattan NYC and doesn't work reliably with T-Mobile, it's marginally better on wifi, but it is absolutely unreliable, especially when used indoors on cellular, even near windows! The phone doesn't feel appreciably faster and oftentimes functions more slowly than the older phone. The ergonomics are not great, the bottom edge area of the screen is waaay too sensitive and inaccurate. As with my previous OnePlus, typing ... The camera is better, faster, clearer, and brighter, that is probably the biggest improvement when compared to 6t. The phone is bigger and the screen is much bigger and nicer, the tradeoff being even less of a one handed experience, it's a little tighter in the pocket, and the battery life is not improved. Speaking of the battery, while it doesn't seem to give better runtime, the 65w fast charging is lightning fast, and even when using my old 15w oem warp charger from the 6t the 9pro fully charges from under 50% in about 20 minutes. Connects to things like headphones unreliably, often it refuses to output sound unless I restart the phone and it makes static when I walk with phone in rear pants pockets. It seems to struggle to run basic apps like YouTube, Instagram, Reddit. As well as it just does terrible running the Epson print app or the Ricoh photo connect app The phone is improved in very few ways and I think it seems less reliable than previous model. So it's an ok device and a weak phone and I don't think it was ever a flagship level phone, it's good enough if it can be purchased for under $500. One plus was running a promotion that when combined with my trade in of my old handset would have made the 9 pro a decent deal, but in the end oneplus also did some slimy stuff regarding the cashback rebate, they gave me store credit instead of the agreed upon Cashback on my trade-in, but it's worthless because I already transacted the new phone so now the rebate ($180) is basically stolen by OnePlus because it was not given to me as Cashback, it's store credit trapped in their ecosystem of disapointment. Really leaves sour taste in my mouth. In summation, I won't recommend OnePlus phones to anybody anymore, and my next phone will not be a OnePlus phone.

This 'Stellar Black' (Cilla's sister) model has a matte black plastic back - perfect for me and this goes so well with the black camera housing.My first impression was the fantastic, bright and clear AMOLED screen. Videos and photos look so vivid.The colour rendition of photos produced is very neutral (thanks presumably to the Hasselblad influence). Instead of looking over saturated as is often the case with smartphones, they look so natural. You can always add saturation in the built in or an external editor.There is of course the usual full auto mode but also a very adjustable manual mode for fine tuning all of the settings. You can even take 'RAW' .dng files should you wish to have more control of post-production.The ultra wideangle lens employs specifically shaped glass to help reduce edge distortion, this means you get a lot in without suffering the sometimes comical distortion of extreme wideangle, and the quality of this mode is excellent.Sound is higher than average and coupled with the amazing screen, makes for very watchable film content.The body is fully waterproof but there is no 3.5mm headphone socket anymore. This is no big deal though as digital to analogue adaptors are readily available for a few pounds - would have been perfect if one was thrown in by OnePlus.The included 65W wired 'warp' charger is one of the fastest in the industry but in addition to normal widely available wireless chargers, if you buy the optional OnePlus wireless charger, that can charge at speeds that even wired chargers often can't match from other manufacturers. OnePlus has always been strong in this area.I am very pleased so far. Reports of issues when the phone was released have all been resolved with several firmware updates so these will not be a problem.OnePlus have taken another step in quality with this phone in my opinion.

Samsung and Apple have so many good pre-installed apps that we take for granted, like a legit music player, e-mail, camera and photo editing. When I connect to a car, I can't shuffle through my music with the car controls. I have to select my playlist on my phone and then the use the track buttons on the car which defeats the whole hands-free approach. I have to open the weather app for it to actually refresh; not sure if that is a unique problem to this phone. I play one game on this phone, and if I'm laying on my back with my phone extended above me, the phone disables the touch screen. It's thinks it in a pocket or something. I have to touch my fingers to the back middle of the phone for it realize I'm holding it and let me use the touch screen; just holding the edges doesn't work. The volume buttons are more towards the middle of the side of the phone, and most of my phone holders put pressure in that same spot, so I inadvertently turn my volume up/down every time it's in a holder. This phone takes a hundred screenshots a day. I had to disable the vol/power button screenshot to avoid this. I think 500 screenshots of my home screen is more than enough. And there's far fewer options for cases etc for this. I can't think of anything this phone does as well as the Samsung, LG or Apple phones I've had in the past. I was trying to get off the bandwagon choosing a non-Samsung/Apple product, but now I realize why I was on the bandwagon... so many regrets.

I have two small gripes: 1) I was a little perturbed that they couldn't be hassled to charge the battery before shipping it. I was totally dead and wouldn't even power up. 2) I wasn't expecting that it could with the OEM charger but it was shipped with an underpowered one. The OnePlus, while able to charge at the measly 20 watt charger, really shines with the 65 watt charger it originally came with. At the very least ship it with a like wattage charger. Think of it as 1-2 hours to charge, vs 10-15 minutes. Huge difference.I'm still giving it 5 stars because the phone is a beast. The 65 watt warp charge capability is a game changer.
