It’s wet food done really right. Human grade ingredients with a cat’s palate in mind. This fine blend includes ground chicken raised without antibiotics, functional ingredients like locally sourced non-GMO cranberries, and superfoods like dandelion greens, turmeric and coconut oil. Serve it as a topper or a complete meal.

Best Wet Food I've Tried

It's not hard, offputting and dehydrated like most patè wet food and it's not covered in gravy so my cat can eat around the chunks of meat. It is the perfect consistency to get my cat eating the amount he needs. He's very picky, but after starting him on Open Farm I've had to increase the amount of wet food I give him. It smells like baby food and his litterbox smells better which is proof of Open Farm's standard for nutrition and naturalness. The price is reasonable especially since it is absurdly difficult to find nutritional wet cat food. It ships quickly and the box easily stores in the fridge and it's easier to recycle and use than a can. I will be trying other flavors too in case he gets bored. I can't think of why I'd use any other wet food ever again.

I chose Open Farm because I researched the best cat foods of 2023 on cats.com which vetted 54 brands of cat food and then categorize them into best overall, best dry food, best wet food Etc. Open Farm not only came in as the runner-up for best overall food, it also was the best ethically sourced.Since my cats have been eating it, their coats have become softer and fuller, and their energy level has increased. Mind you my cats are 14 years old! Along with the Harvest chicken recipe, I also use the open Farms bone broth and mix it in. My fur babies love it, I just wish I discovered this sooner for them.

Real food, recognisable ingredients, ethical. Wish we had similar product made locally/ in Australia. It is runny, with chunks, but fills them up. It is the absolute favourite of one of my three, they all eat it. None of them can eat full pack in one meal - though they try!

Ethical company, quality food, cat loves it!!
22 December 2022

I had never heard of Open Farm before doing some online research several month ago into cat foods. I was looking for a wet cat food with high-quality ingredients from a company that was transparent about its ingredients and sourced them from farms where the animals were raised more ethically, sustainably, and humanely than animals raised for/used in most other premium cat foods. The Open Farm company kept showing up at the top of lists and appeared to meet my criteria really well. Its price was relatively compatible with the wet food I had been feeding my cat in the past (Wellness) so I decided to give it a try. In addition to the "pros" already listed: (1) My cat LOVES it, (2) it is very moist (different, more liquid texture than many canned cat foods, but I see ... MoreI had never heard of Open Farm before doing some online research several month ago into cat foods. In addition to the "pros" already listed: (1) My cat LOVES it, (2) it is very moist (different, more liquid texture than many canned cat foods, but I see this as a good thing for my asian-breed cat). Something to be aware of: It comes in a lined pouch/box sort of thing, not a can. Again, different, but just fine once you get used to the difference. The container, once opened, can be stored in the fridge without a traditional cover (the top folds back up, creating its own cover). I'm wondering if this sort of packaging is more environmentally friendly than traditional cans, but haven't looked further into this. In any event, the square containers are more efficient and space-saving to store than cans. Altogether review: A + - I've found my new go-to cat food.

Frustrating
14 June 2024

I picked up the last remaining box of this food/flavor a couple weeks ago and my ultra-finicky senior cat loved it as a wet treat in the mornings. He never hesitated a moment before diving in. My excitement knew no bounds, so I bought 10 boxes more as soon as they came into stock. Unfortunately, this different batch number of the same food/flavor must not be exactly the same as he won't even get within 6 inches of it. I opened a couple boxes and offered them over a week or so but the reaction was consistent. I will be attempting to return the remaining 8. Hopefully, Chuck & Don's will refund or exchange.I have had a similar situation with another brand/flavor. He ate multiple cans of a certain batch number and then refused it completely when I purchased cans ... MoreI picked up the last remaining box of this food/flavor a couple weeks ago and my ultra-finicky senior cat loved it as a wet treat in the mornings. Healthiest Cats Around
4 December 2021

I’m so thankful to have found Open Farm! One of car cats, a male tabby, had a bladder blockage that landed him in the ER and set us back $1,500. We discovered he had been getting too many minerals in his food and that he was prone to crystals, so the vet requested the prescription diet. However, after one month on this diet my cats got super fat and sluggish! First ingredient was corn byproduct. Big nope for us, so I did some research and found Open Farm; we’ve had them on it for 2 months and there’s been no crystal formation and they are healthier than ever! I’m super thankful for this brand, and also extra appreciate the sustainability and ethical sourcing. A+ from me.

Healthy Food that Save the Earth - Happy Cat & Cat Momma :)
12 August 2021

My dear cat's name is lofi, she is a sweet young girl who usually prefers her dry food to her wet food. I always try to source the healthiest meals for her, but for the next month and a half I got a notice that her current wet food would be unavailable. So, I scoured the internet for what the cat nutrition experts had to recommend as the next best thing, and stumbled upon this brand. I was really excited, as I have never heard of a company prioritizing sustainability and humane animal production as much as Open Farm does. From high-quality, ethically-raised and gathered meats, an appropriate cat nutrient profile in every recipe, rave reviews from finnicky eaters and recyclable TerraCycle-compatible packaging, I was extremely excited about every aspect of the product ... MoreMy dear cat's name is lofi, she is a sweet young girl who usually prefers her dry food to her wet food. I was really excited, as I have never heard of a company prioritizing sustainability and humane animal production as much as Open Farm does. From high-quality, ethically-raised and gathered meats, an appropriate cat nutrient profile in every recipe, rave reviews from finnicky eaters and recyclable TerraCycle-compatible packaging, I was extremely excited about every aspect of the product before I even made my first purchase.I started with a pack of the Chicken Rustic blend, which I was able to get at a sale through the subscription option and an email opt-in discount, and eagerly awaited delivery to my home. Open Farm generously provides tracking options every step of the way, so I always knew where the package was. An extra note- while I was waiting for the product I also browsed where the closest Open Farm products are sold, and was happy to see that most if not all of their products were officially sold through small businesses across the United States. I love supporting small businesses, so this was just one more aspect of the company that had me happy to support them already.I did not have to wait too long for the food to arrive, as true to their promise, Open Farm delivered to my doorstep within 2-3 days of placing the order. Actually, I only had to wait about a day and a half. That's faster than the wet food I ordered from Amazon Prime!I eagerly bring the food inside my home, and the exterior packaging was nearly as true to Open Farm's sustainability promise, save for one shrink-plastic wrap around the 24 case of wet food. But otherwise, no tedious plastic dry ice packaging, no unnecessary extra packaging peanuts. Just an exterior cardboard box, a cute little recyclable "welcome to the Open Farm family" brochure, as well as the food itself. The little cartons were so cute! They were like little juice-boxes, but full of meat blends. Meat-boxes. They were a little smaller than anticipated, but that's ok, because that means they don't take up a lot of shelf space. I was also extremely impressed with how shelf-stable they were - each carton just needed to be used before the year 2023, so I had a full 2 years to get through a set of boxes that my little family could probably easily get through in about 1-2 months. There were some reviews talking about how hard it was to open the packaging, I disagree. I thought the packaging was extremely easy to navigate and open. They key was to squish out the top of the box until it was flat, resembling more of a Caprisun pouch than a box before ripping, and then the perforated edge ripped off no problem. I immediately noticed upon opening just how good the food smelled - Open Farm wasn't kidding about human-grade, and I was very tempted to try my own cat's food. I did not, and let her savor it all. I found the blend to be more of a watery consistency than a stew, but nonetheless it made it easy to poor out. By the time I reached the bottom of the box, I could just poor in a splash of water, shake up the box and poor the remains into her bowl, which I found much easier than scraping up the extra bits in a can. Putting away the box was also extremely easy. True to how Open Farm demonstrated in their videos, I simply folded the box and stored in my refrigerator for use later on in the evening. And most importantly, feeding the blend to my little lofi was the most gratifying part - immediately when I opened the box, she was very enticed by the smell, the same as myself. Usually, when I give her wet food in the evening, she'll take a few generous licks and leave the rest for the remainder of the day. However, with this stew, she immediately loved the flavor, and ate the whole thing over the span of about 5 or so minutes. I was extremely happy! She usually only eats her meal this quickly when it is her dry food, or if it's her little Inaba Churu meat treats. I let her lick the box, because she was that excited for more.I have not signed up for TerraCycle yet, but this product has me excited to do so. In the meantime, it is nice to know that the box alone as well as a majority of the extra packaging are recyclable on their own.As far as any recommendations for the company, my only wish is that they offer more variety for cat-owners, as the company itself seems to serve dog-owners first. If possible, I also wish it were easier to try their kefirs, which are only available in their stores. And of course, if there were a way I could receive the product with even less plastic, I would be extremely happy.I have already recommended Open Farm to two of my close friends and will continue to recommend their brand to other near and dear cat friends. I am so happy with this product and this company's mission and commitment to transparency, sustainability, humanity and quality, and am excited to try their other products, like their bone broths and other rustic blend flavors.Thank you so much, Open Farm! I am so excited to be a part of the family and add your products to lofi's daily menu!

She keeps telling everyone in the house and tagging Open Farm to her friends on social media saying “if you love your animals you must feed them the healthiest meal possible!”She adds all the essential vitamins and probiotics before she brings me the plate full of love.. the Healthiest meat come from healthiest animals, she says “It’s that simple”.My parents are hard workers, and mommy is a very busy lady who works full time, and she is also a caregiver for her mommy/my grandma. She hasn’t slept much in a whole year. So I was happy when my parents read up about Open Farm, and daddy strongly suggested she seek help and trust Open Farm, that I will still feel the love though she won’t be cooking for me three times a day.She sat me down and said “Ok! Let’s try Open Farm  It doesn’t matter if other animal food companies are “certified organic” or “non gmo”, if the animals are raised unethically. Animals from Factory Farming go through Horrific Torture and are Constantly sick. If one animal gets sick, all animals around them have to be given the antibiotics. I won’t give any of those meat that come from such poor tortured fellow animal friends to you”So she slowly started introducing the stew as a topper for her home cooked meal. I was drown to it by it’s mouth watering yummy smell... I licked it and looked up to her worried face and gave Open Farm the approval by cleaning the plate in seconds!! Let me tell you! She was so happy!!Ever since, mommy has been feeding me mixture of her home cooked meal and the Open Farm stew! Every snack and even broth I get are from Open Farm as well, and they are Awesome!! My favorite is Step 4 beef treats and Wild Caught Cod Skin treats!Mommy also joint the Open Farm recycling program! And oh boy.. we do have a ton of empty packaging to send! It’s free, and good for our planet!I give 4 paws :paw_prints: up for Open Farm in every way! Please stay transparent and keep loving! We love you!!

My cat eat's anything and he won't eat this
10 February 2024

I really liked the packaging and the marketing /reviews I read online sold me on a healthy sustainable product with an A+ rating. It wasn't until I got it home that I realised there is a high quantity of vegetables, and plant based products. I don't think coconut oil, chick peas, and carrots and pumpkin are species appropriate. I have never had a problem with my cat not eating something, but he turned his nose up at this, even when I laced it with his favourite treats. I tried and tried thinking if he was hungry he might come around but he did not.

Try the single pack first
18 January 2022

I tried the single pack, so glad that is an option! I agree that it smells like chicken soup, or at least it doesn't smell like 'cat food'. My two cats thought it smelled tasty enough to try it. The Small Cat prefers to lick at wet food rather than chew it so she was ok with the texture (it's like very finely ground mince through gravy). The Big Cat however, tried to bite it like he would his normal food (Ziwi, Feline Natural, etc). His attempt failed miserably and he gave me an offended look before stalking off to sulk about being fed 'slop' that he couldn't possibly eat. SO, with that in mind, I would recommend this food for cats who have lost teeth and can't chew well, insist on licking the food rather than chewing or are fussy and would rather eat your chicken ... MoreI tried the single pack, so glad that is an option! I also looked up their website for the traceability of ingredients for the single pack I bought and found that really interesting, easy to do and a fantastic idea.
