OPI nail polish is of exceptional quality and half of the polish i own is OPI. The variety of colors is uncanny, ranging from solids to shimmers to nudes and metallics. The polish definitely lasts if you use a base and top coat. Their base coat is very durable and effective especially with colors that tend to stain the nail beds like reds and blacks. Once removed, your nails look clean and unstained when using the base coat. The flat brush that comes in every bottle is perfectly shaped to fit the nail without having any excess polish going everywhere. The packaging is clean and modern and I love that the top of the brush has a bit of grit to it so that your fingers don't slip while painting your nails. The only thing I don't like about the colors is that they're a bit too watery and you need to be light handed when it comes to applying without getting it on the cuticles. That being said, 2 coats of polish is more than sufficient unless you're using one of the nudes, nail envy's, or the opaque shimmery ones. You will most likely need more than 2 coats or a bright base color like white to set the tone. A technique a really like to use, especially for glitter polishes; pour the polish unto a plastic or paper plate and dip a triangular makeup sponge into it and dab unto your nails that way you're getting more of the glitter than the clear polish it's in. You can use cuticle protector so you don't get polish on your skin or, if you don't have any on hand, you can mix a little bit of Elmer's glue with some water and with a pain brush, you can paint in the skin around your nail and let it dry. After you've applied your nail polish and it's dried, you can peel it right off. I use this technique on myself as well as my clients and it never fails me.

Having used shatter or crackle polish by OPI, LaRosa and China Glaze, I have some basis for comparison. They all work, it's your subjective taste that matters. The LaRosa shatter pattern is sort of a random pattern. The China Glaze is more like a snakeskin shaped pattern. In my opinion, the OPI is the nicest - it's clean and geometric, like tiny parallel rectangles. The OPI is easiest to work with too. It's got a less gloppy or thick formula, so it goes on more cleanly, and shatters more intricately. It's a true black, nice and dark, covering any base coat well. It's too bad OPI came out of the gate with the black and has been slow about other colors. It makes me crazy when I see reviews of disappointed people saying "It didn't work" and you can usually tell they either didn't get directions with the product, or didn't read them. The point of crackle polish is to use two colors which contrast. You apply a base coat of regular nail polish, and then paint the crackle polish on top, which shrinks as it dries to expose the base color. Thus, whatever you choose for your base should be a color that will contrast nicely with the color of crackle you have. The more different the colors (light and dark) the more obvious the pattern will be.Crackle polish will NOT work on your naked nail- as it dries it shrinks and it needs a smooth dry surface to shrink across. The key is to put the crackle polish on when the base color is COMPLETELY dry.

If you are walking around outside at dawn or night with streetlights around you, you barely notice the glow. You have to expose it to a bright light and then go to a dark place ;) or take a flashlight with you and expose your nails to it every 3 minutes *gg*Included with the 4 mini polishes is a small sheet of tattoos (2 bats, 1 cat, 1 red heart and 1 tribal with hearts), which I find cute, but would have preferred nail stickers. I'm never sure where to apply tattoos ;)I bought this set because I wanted the blue GITD color and couldn't find it in a fullsize anywhere. You have to be a bit careful when applying the polish, because the brush is so small, so you have to pay attention how much product you pack on the brush. But I soon got the hang of it.The bottles are really cute, especially next to their "grown-up" brothers and sisters on my shelf ;)But they're more like a collectors edition than very handy, that's true.Shipping took some weeks, but from the US to Germany that was only to be expected, so I wasn't worried. It arrived in perfect condition.

I have around probably 4 dozen OPI polishes and they were my go-to brand for many years. OPI polishes have a wide shade range, fun collections with a theme yet offer variety, and have a formula that wears well. I have brittle nails that are prone to bending and breaking and I can go about 4-5 days with OPI polishes before they start to chip. Essie and China Glaze usually start chipping around day 3 and Marc Jacobs can last about 6 days. This OPI line is fairly typical in formula for a non-gel polish and they switched to a paddle brush in the last 5 years or so. The shades vary in opacity but most shades will be opaque at 3 coats, which is typical for non gel polishes. The shades vary in opacity but most shades will be opaque at 3 coats, which is typical for non gel polishes. The polishes seem to be more resistant to thickening over time than other brands which is nice, however, they are prone to having their caps stuck shut by dried polish on the bottle rim. OPI is a really reliable brand that is accessible in stores and is reasonably priced, if not a bit on the expensive side. If I am looking for a particular polish shade I will start with looking in OPI's collection because of how broad their shade range is and how many finishes they are available in. I have slowly been switching over to gel polishes because they last longer and look better but I won't be getting rid of any of my OPIs either. I haven't tried their Infinite Shine line but I hope to soon. If I were to recommend a nail polish brand to someone it would be OPI. The only main gripe I have with the brand is that they discontinued my favorite polish- Vodka and Caviar. I have been looking for a replacement for years but no other brand can nail the jelly finish like OPI. It is also a bit of a downside that because they have so many limited edition collections you are likely to find a fave that you'll never be able to replace

Great quality nail polish. Fun, fresh colors with cleaver, memorable names.I’ve used [brand:opi] many times in the past, both at home and at my nail salon, but in all honesty I’m not strictly an “Opi only” girl. I love their product and I know would probably buy it more often if it they were less expensive and more widely available. From time to time I will see small Point of Sale displays in drugstores (or boxed gift sets, featuring 2 or 3 colors from a small palette of seasonal shades around the holidays) but if I want to see the full spectrum of colors, I know I would have to order online or make a trip all the way out to the beauty supply store.I also wish was not always the one (or one of only two) [brand:nail-polish] brands rarely if EVER goes on sale, or ... MoreGreat quality nail polish. Sometimes red is just red, and if there’s an equivalent (or near-equivalent) shade available in a less expensive brand, I’m going to go with the one that’s on sale, vs the one who won’t reward a longtime customer.Opi has great quality across the board and most of their colors are pretty unique but not all of their shades are SO special that it always justifies the price tag.

I used to LOVE these nail varnishes so much. I am a MUA and to me it’s important to have a nice looking nails. I mean who doesn’t like nice looking nails though? Recently I’ve become so disappointed in this product I won’t be buying it again. Firstly it takes FOREVER to dry even after just one coat. Secondly you need at least 3 or 4 coats to get a good colour. Thirdly you would think after all that effort of having to paint 3/4 times and leaving them ages to dry they would last longer on the nails. Wrong!! I could paint my nails the night before, and then the next night after getting home from work they would be chipped! So annoying also as these nail varnishes arnt exactly cheap! I love everything about OPI nail polish. Great price, beautiful array of colors, and it actually lasts! I can put two coats on and it will last me a week. Their clear nail polish is also great as a base coat and top coat. I needed to add more to this review because I am still a loyal OPI fan; the colors they have and the actual product has NEVER let me down. I have become OBSESSED with Flamingo Tini pink; it's this very Barbie Flamingo color that gets me so many compliments when I use it. This is an excellent Easter color/spring color but is great for sun dresses as well. I think Flamingo tini pink has become my favorite OPI color; I find myself putting it on my toes when I am not wearing OPI's Black Onyx. I am OBSESSED with black nail polish on my toes but I often switch between these two. I cannot say enough great things about all OPI nail colors and other products such as the top/base coat, etc. The price is between $7+ which is worth it to me because the vast array of colors are beautiful, the color doesn't chip, the brush makes it easy to apply and doesn't get all over my skin, and OPI always comes out with new colors following new movies and seasons- I love it. Very impressive product :) I will always love OPI polishes!
